LOGINLena's POV
I watched Xenia arguing with Dad on the balcony and furrowed my brows, blocking Donald out and trying to see if I could hear them.
"I am assuring you Donald is her boyfriend. See, they are even discussing." Xenia raised her voice and I grinned, knowing what all this was about.
"You need to leave now." I turned to face Donald who took a step backward in shock.
"You are sending me out?" He asked in disbelief and I fought back a scoff.
Obviously, idiot. Seeing him right now was causing me so much irritation.
"I need to rest," I replied and then walked out on him.
He tried calling me back but I ignored and told one of the guards around not to let him in till I said otherwise.
I walked into my room and saw Xenia pacing around, in it.
Wasn't she with Dad?
Immediately she saw me, she folded her hands across her chest, flipping her dyed hair backwards.
"What was that drama you caused?" She frowned and I scoffed, trying to calm myself down from seeing her ugly face.
I so wanted to barge at her, then rip those fake lashes and make-up off.
"What drama?" I questioned as I went to sit on the sofa in my room, a pillow on my lap.
"Don't play dumb. I thought you hated Griffin." She began and I bit back a laugh.
Not as much as I hated Donald or her. I must see them miserable even if I had to be unhappy myself.
"Why would I hate him? He is quite charming." I muttered and was surprised to see I actually meant it.
Xenia stared at me for a few seconds before bursting into laughter. She looked like a crazy person to me.
"If you are done, can you get out of my room? It suddenly feels too suffocating with you in it." I told her and she looked like I had punched her in the guts.
I smirked.
This was nothing compared to what I would do further.
"That's rude. Apologize, this instant." She demanded but I just rolled my eyes, picked up my towel from the bed, and moved to the bathroom.
She was standing in my way, so I leaned in to whisper into her ear.
"If you know what is good for you, you will start to know your place and stop crossing boundaries," I warned and she shivered, her eyes widening a bit as I brushed her with my shoulder aggressively.
She tripped over the rug, but I didn't care and just entered the bathroom to freshen up.
I came out afterwards, breathing heavily as I lay down on my bed after drying my body. Just then, my phone pinged, alerting me that I had a message.
I brought it out to check only to see that it was from an unsaved number. I got curious and opened it.
"Yo princess, I have a hockey match tomorrow, and as my new babe, you are to wear my jacket and come to cheer for me. Me, and not your stupid ex-boyfriend." I read out and grinned, knowing immediately who this message was from.
I found myself saving his contact with troublemaker, wondering how he got a hold of my number, but then shrugged.
I was about to lie down to sleep when someone kicked my door open and barged in.
I flicked my eyelids open only to see Dad glaring at me, Xenia trembling behind him as she held his arms, as if trying to prevent him from doing something.
What now? I resisted the urge to groan and just sat up.
"It's alarming how you are growing more and more spoiled, Lena." Dad insulted, and I narrowed my eyes at him in confusion.
What the hell did I do now?
"How dare you slap my wife? You should always respect her because she is now your mum." He yelled, anger blazing through his eyes.
"Easy George. I already told you she probably didn't mean it and is just struggling to cope with me being around." Xenia began to display acting skills once again.
She was quite good. No wonder Dad and I always fell for it, but this time, I was gonna force reality out of her.
Xenia looked at me, and the side of her lips curled into her smirk as Dad continued to scold me, and she pretended to be defending me.
It was then I noticed a red, hand imprint on her cheeks and knew instantly that she did it to frame me, like she always did in the past but I wasn't moved.
I said nothing as Dad continued yelling and he noticed, pointing at me as annoyance flickered in his eyes.
"You are not going to say anything? Why can't you be remorseful, apologize, and just get along? She was once your best friend, remember." He shielded Xenia in his arms.
"First of all, she isn't my mother, and two, it's quite shameful that my dad married someone as young as I am, his daughter to be my mother." I pointed out, and both his and Xenia's jaws dropped.
"OMG! That's rude Lena. I get you acting that way to me but not to your father." She shrieked, her voice sounding so horrible that I cringed.
"It's just the truth." I shrugged, and Dad raised his hand to slap me, but Xenia stopped him.
"You brat! Are you even my daughter?" He yelled once again and I sighed.
"I should be asking you that, Father. Whose parents believe an outsider over their blood right away, without confirming the truth?" I questioned and he froze, while Xenia went pale.
"Are you trying to say I am lying?" She immediately butt in and I smiled.
"Yes. I didn't even touch you, you have access to the footage Dad. Please confirm yourself." I pointed to the phone in his hand, and he frowned, turning to look at Xenia, who began to scratch the back of her hair nervously.
"Very well." He said and began scrolling on his phone for some minutes before turning to glare at me.
"Did you delete the footage?" He raged and I saw Xenia smirking again, thinking she had won.
What a fool! She can't outsmart me again in this life.
"Ask your wife that. Why would I let you waste your time checking if I did?" I nudged and he gritted his teeth against one another, refusing to do so.
It was then that I noticed that Xenia had really charmed Dad into thinking that she was a harmless angel who might not even be able to hurt a fly, but then she killed me, his only child.
"Alright then. I saved the footage on my phone, just in case." I revealed and all colors drained out of Xenia's face.
Fear appeared in her eyes, and her hands began to tremble as I scrolled on my tablet, then handed it to Dad to see.
He was about to look when Xenia collapsed to the floor suddenly and Dad's attention was immediately drawn.
"Baby, what's wrong?" He asked in panic.
"I suddenly feel faint. Please help me get back to bed." She pleaded and I huffed.
"Dad, the footage?"
"Shut up! Can't you see she isn't feeling well?" He snapped, then led her out of the room and I chuckled in amazement.
I was beginning to enjoy this.
.........
The next day was the hockey match and I made sure to ignore Donald all through classes today, heading to the men's locker room to see Griffin and get his jacket.
The room seemed deserted and I was about to leave when I bumped into a huge rock, my nose almost bruising due to the impact.
"Ouch." I cried out and raised my head to lash at whoever when I caught the smell of the most delicious scent ever.
I stiffened as Chole came alive in my head, flipping around in excitement.
"Mate." A familiar voice growled and my heart skipped a beat. I would recognize that voice anywhere.
Oh moongoddess! Do not tell me.....
I looked to see Griffin, his dark eyes glowing, his mouth opening to show his fangs as I moved closer towards him.
I shook, taking a step backwards and another till he had me pinned against a locker, my legs wobbling as he leaned into me, sniffing and licking the area on my neck.
I couldn't move, nor could I speak, as butterflies rumbled in my stomach.
Griffin was my mate? How is that possible?
This never happened in the past life. As a matter of fact, Donald was my mate.
I hiccupped as Griffin touched me again before biting my lips hard to get myself. I immediately pushed him off and ran out to the field.
I panted as I took a seat, watching as people began to cheer loudly as Donald walked in with pride.
A few minutes later, Griffin and his teammates also walked in, and the cheers became even louder, annoying Donald obviously.
But something made my blood boil as I watched Griffin. A beautiful girl was clinging to his arms and putting on his jacket.
Something that belonged to me.
Donald’s POVThe hotel room was quiet… just too quiet.I sat on the edge of the bed, leaning forward with my elbows on my knees, staring at my phone like it held answers I couldn’t get out of myself. Xenia’s name was right there on the screen, just one tap, and I’d be calling her and maybe she’d pick up, maybe she’d say something that would make all this mess in my head settle for a second. My thumb hovered over the screen, not touching it, not pulling away either.I locked the phone and tossed it beside me.I didn’t want to admit how pathetic it looked. Sitting here like some abandoned idiot waiting for someone who wasn’t even thinking about me. No messages, no calls, not even a short “Hey, did you get home?” Nothing. She didn’t care… she didn't!I’d shown up at our apartment days ago. I didn’t need anything I picked up, half the stuff wasn’t even needed. I just wanted her to react, to look at me, to ask me why I came, get mad, yell or something, anything at all.But she wasn’thome,
Lilith’s POV I should’ve run earlier.Even before everything went to hell, before the window shattered and the assassins poured in, there was already that feeling crawling up my spine, like the universe was warning me, like I should’ve taken the hint and left Griffin’s stupid house behind but no. I stayed because I’m an idiot or because I can’t resist him. Take your pick. The last attacker I fought had slammed me hard enough against the bookshelf that my vision blurred. My forearm stung where his claws grazed me, and adrenaline was the only thing keeping me standing. I’d managed to throw him off with more luck than skill, and honestly, that should’ve been enough for the night. But then again. One of them had Griffin pinned down, his claws raised, ready to slice Griffin’s throat open like it was nothing. Griffin was fighting, but it wasn’t enough not against seven of them or when he was already bleeding all over the damn floor. And me?I stood there.Frozen.Every muscle in my body sc
Griffin’s POV“So this is your plan?” I growled, teeth clenched, muscles coiled. “This… is what it’s come to now?”Lilith blinked, caught off guard by the sudden intensity of my tone. Her lips parted like she was about to speak, then she hesitated. “What—? No—”“This wasn’t your call?” I snapped, stepping toward her. My claws itched, barely restrained, and every nerve in my body was alive. “You brought them here?”“I didn’t!” she hissed, eyes flashing with defiance. But I didn’t have the luxury of reading the truth on her face.Because the next second—CRASH!The front window shattered in a violent explosion of glass. The sound made my ears ring, and shards sprayed into the room like deadly confetti. I barely had time to blink before two black-clad figures leapt through the opening, silent, lethal, mid-shift already. Their movements were preternatural, trained beyond any ordinary human or wolf.Instinct took over, my body moved before my mind could catch up.The first one lunged for m
Griffin’s POV It was already getting late, the sky had faded into this deep violet shade that always made me feel like the day had been stretched too long. The place was quiet, too quiet, since I was home alone with no workers, including the guards.I sat on the couch, hunched forward slightly, elbows on my knees, my phone resting in the middle of my palm. The only light in the room was the soft glow from the screen and the dim lamp in the far corner. Lena’s last message was still open, and I must’ve reread it at least five times.> “Everything’s fine, babe. Still wrapping up, will text again soon. ❤️”But my chest didn’t loosen the way it should have. She knew how I got when she stayed out late, especially with everything going on lately so she tried to keep the messages coming. She must’ve thought it reassured me since I asked for it, I didn't want her shutting me out. In a way, it did. Maybe just… not enough. Maybe it was my instincts reacting to something I couldn’t put into wor
Xenia’s POV It had been days since Donald and I had spoken, ever since our fight at school. I couldn’t even tell you when exactly it started to bother me or if it ever really did. The silence between us stretched on, a space that felt heavier than the words we’d thrown at each other. He’d been avoiding me, o texts, no calls either. At first, I didn’t notice, I barely even saw him. Then the maid mentioned it earlier, he had come home while I was out and picked up most of his stuff. I tried not to let it matter, and honestly, at that moment, it didn’t. I had too much going on to sit around and stew over him. Too much drama, too many things I had to handle, like keeping Lils settled and trying not to let my own life fall apart.Lils had basically moved in with me. It wasn’t her fault, her dorm had become a nightmare with the girls making life hell, and her home wasn’t exactly an option either, so we stuck together. Went to school together, came back together, shared space and frustratio
Lena’s POV I woke up to the faint sunlight slipping through the curtains and the familiar sense of Griffin beside me. For a moment, I just stayed there, listening to the quiet rhythm of the house and the soft rise and fall of his breathing. Even after everything that happened, that quiet felt safe.I rolled out of bed carefully, careful not to disturb him, and stretched. My mind was already racing. Today wasn’t going to be easy. Dad was on a mission to hand over L&L to Xenia, and I had no intention of letting that happen. I shook off the lingering sleepiness, my fingers brushing my hair back as I headed toward the bathroom.Griffin stirred as I moved, sitting up groggily. “Morning,” he mumbled, still sounding sleepy.“Morning,” I replied, glancing at him in the mirror. He gave me a small, tired smile. Even in the morning haze, I could feel his calm strength anchoring me.“So… what’s your plan?” he asked, stretching his arms above his head, still half-asleep.I sighed, leaning against
