"This is the sixth time this week that your dad suddenly wants to see you. Didn't you mention that he traveled or something?" I asked, and Donald froze before suddenly bursting into laughter, scratching his hair.
"Really? Well, he is back. Sorry, I forgot to let you know." Donald apologized and I just smiled.
He was so cute when he acted like that. My boyfriend, the love of my life.
"It's cool. Run along now, you don't want to keep him waiting." I nudged him with my arm and he grinned, leaning forward to give me a kiss on the lips.
I reciprocated, and soon enough, he had me pressed against my locker, his hands roaming my body till he got to my ass and squeezed it.
I moaned into his mouth but stopped him when he started trailing kisses all over my face, down to my neck.
He raised his eyebrows in confusion and I was about to talk when his phone rang. Probably his dad, because he immediately let go of me, picked up his things, and literally ran out of here without a goodbye.
I pouted, then shrugged and took out my comb to straighten my hair as I stared at the tickets lying on my textbook.
Today was our anniversary, two years since we had been dating, and I got us tickets to go see his favorite show, which was also coming out today, but it seemed he had more important things to do.
Funnily, I also planned on losing my V-card to him today. I mean it's why I stopped him earlier, during our make-out session.
I didn't want it to be in a locker room.
I was heading to my car when I saw the most annoying creature, standing in front of it.
"What do you want?" I frowned at Griffin Walker, the school, cherished hockey player and Donald's greatest rival on the field.
Donald never failed to let me know how much Griffin tried to bully him just because his family owns almost half the country, and I believe my boyfriend, because Griffin makes my life a living hell too.
"Well, well, well, isn't it my ex-fiancée?" Griffin mocked, a dark glint that never failed to send shivers down my spine, appearing in his eyes again.
"Can you please get out of my way?" I pleaded with a fake smile, although I was boiling within.
I also wanted to punch the smug look off his face.
"Oh come on, don't be mean." He winked and I gritted my teeth against one another.
"By the way, where is your handbag?" He questioned and I furrowed my brows, confused.
"My handbag?" I repeated and he nodded.
"You know, the guy you broke off our engagement for." He explained and I glared.
"Don't you ever call him that," I warned and he smirked, moving closer to me.
"You know, I think you should watch him more. He is not the sweetheart, you think he is." Griffin leaned to whisper into my ear, and I scoffed.
"Well, I don't care. At least he isn't a Casanova, like you." I retorted and Griffin's jaw tightened.
He looked like he wanted to kill me but just shrugged.
"Well, I warned you." He said and left me abruptly.
I stood there frozen, his words swirling in my mind but then decided to snap out of it as I opened my car door and got in.
Griffin would say anything to mess with my head, he has been doing that since I refused to marry him.
I am probably the first girl to ever reject him and he wants to get his revenge.
"What a prude!" I muttered under my breath, about to drive to my apartment in town when I remembered that Dad sent me a text while I was in class.
He wanted me to help him pick some important documents from his safe.
I don't know why he didn't ask Xenia to do it though. She was literally his wife.
"Maybe because all she cares about is going on shopping sprees and expensive trips." My wolf, Chole, answered my thoughts, and I giggled.
"You know it's funny, she used to be your best friend." Chole pointed out and the smile wiped off my face immediately.
I did not want to remember that.
I parked in the garage and noticed the house seemed silent. I walked in, noticing no butler, chef, or servants scurrying around as usual.
That was weird.
I walked up the stairs, wondering why the house was so deserted and also having this ominous feeling, that something was wrong.
I took a deep breath, about to go in the direction of Daddy's study when I heard a loud moan and stood still.
'What was that?' I pondered as I turned around and walked towards Dad's bathroom, my lips parting in shock as I heard another moan.
I clenched my hands into fists, my eyes twitching as anger brewed in me.
How dare Xenia? I would recognize that voice anywhere.
Dad was surely at the office so do not tell me, this whore was cheating.
I kicked the door open and barged in, startling them as I grabbed the vase on the table beside me, about to throw it at Xenia, when my heart skipped a beat at who I saw.
His eyes widened in panic as he tried to cover his hardened dick with the duvet, exposing Xenia who was butt-naked and covered in his semen.
The vase dropped from my hand to the ground, making a loud noise as it shattered, while I stood there, shaking my head in disbelief.
It couldn't be.
I was hallucinating, I had to be.
I blinked repeatedly to be sure but all I could still see was Donald trying to wear his clothes.
"Lena, it's not what you think." He tried pleading while Xenia stood up, to wrap a coat around her.
"Shut up Donald. It was time she knew the truth." She said calmly, turning to face me as the side of her lips curled, just like that day, when she betrayed my trust.
Before I could stop myself, I burst into laughter, startling all of them, especially Xenia, who began to tremble as I grabbed the fruit knife from the tray of fruit and advanced towards her.
"First, you stole my father from me, and now, my boyfriend?" I half-yelled and Xenia rolled her eyes, trying not to look scared.
"It's not my fault they all prefer me over a nerd." Xenia snorted and I dropped the knife, shaking from too much anger.
"Let me out, Xenia. Let me handle this." Chole raged.
My heart tightened in pain as tears stung my eyes. I wasn't a murderer but I was gonna teach her a lesson.
I grabbed one of her heels and hit her on the head with it. Her jaw dropped as she screamed in pain, looking at me in shock as blood trickled from the cut on her head.
"I am going to ruin that scheming face you are so proud of, then we will see who wants you." Chole roared as I allowed her to take over completely.
I still had emotions for Xenia, but she didn't; she completely hated her, so she would seek justice for me.
I was tired of being a pull-over. I raised the heels up, about to strike Xenia again when I felt a stinging pain rip through me from behind.
I stifffened, coughing out blood as I turned to see Donald plunging the knife I had dropped into me, beads of sweat gathering on his forehead.
"I am sorry, L-lena." He stuttered.
Lilith’s POV I should’ve run earlier.Even before everything went to hell, before the window shattered and the assassins poured in, there was already that feeling crawling up my spine, like the universe was warning me, like I should’ve taken the hint and left Griffin’s stupid house behind but no. I stayed because I’m an idiot or because I can’t resist him. Take your pick. The last attacker I fought had slammed me hard enough against the bookshelf that my vision blurred. My forearm stung where his claws grazed me, and adrenaline was the only thing keeping me standing. I’d managed to throw him off with more luck than skill, and honestly, that should’ve been enough for the night. But then again. One of them had Griffin pinned down, his claws raised, ready to slice Griffin’s throat open like it was nothing. Griffin was fighting, but it wasn’t enough not against seven of them or when he was already bleeding all over the damn floor. And me?I stood there.Frozen.Every muscle in my body sc
Griffin’s POV“So this is your plan?” I growled, teeth clenched, muscles coiled. “This… is what it’s come to now?”Lilith blinked, caught off guard by the sudden intensity of my tone. Her lips parted like she was about to speak, then she hesitated. “What—? No—”“This wasn’t your call?” I snapped, stepping toward her. My claws itched, barely restrained, and every nerve in my body was alive. “You brought them here?”“I didn’t!” she hissed, eyes flashing with defiance. But I didn’t have the luxury of reading the truth on her face.Because the next second—CRASH!The front window shattered in a violent explosion of glass. The sound made my ears ring, and shards sprayed into the room like deadly confetti. I barely had time to blink before two black-clad figures leapt through the opening, silent, lethal, mid-shift already. Their movements were preternatural, trained beyond any ordinary human or wolf.Instinct took over, my body moved before my mind could catch up.The first one lunged for m
Griffin’s POV It was already getting late, the sky had faded into this deep violet shade that always made me feel like the day had been stretched too long. The place was quiet, too quiet, since I was home alone with no workers, including the guards.I sat on the couch, hunched forward slightly, elbows on my knees, my phone resting in the middle of my palm. The only light in the room was the soft glow from the screen and the dim lamp in the far corner. Lena’s last message was still open, and I must’ve reread it at least five times.> “Everything’s fine, babe. Still wrapping up, will text again soon. ❤️”But my chest didn’t loosen the way it should have. She knew how I got when she stayed out late, especially with everything going on lately so she tried to keep the messages coming. She must’ve thought it reassured me since I asked for it, I didn't want her shutting me out. In a way, it did. Maybe just… not enough. Maybe it was my instincts reacting to something I couldn’t put into wor
Xenia’s POV It had been days since Donald and I had spoken, ever since our fight at school. I couldn’t even tell you when exactly it started to bother me or if it ever really did. The silence between us stretched on, a space that felt heavier than the words we’d thrown at each other. He’d been avoiding me, o texts, no calls either. At first, I didn’t notice, I barely even saw him. Then the maid mentioned it earlier, he had come home while I was out and picked up most of his stuff. I tried not to let it matter, and honestly, at that moment, it didn’t. I had too much going on to sit around and stew over him. Too much drama, too many things I had to handle, like keeping Lils settled and trying not to let my own life fall apart.Lils had basically moved in with me. It wasn’t her fault, her dorm had become a nightmare with the girls making life hell, and her home wasn’t exactly an option either, so we stuck together. Went to school together, came back together, shared space and frustratio
