Lena's POV

'Contract marriage? What? Why?' I pondered, putting a hand on Griffin's firm chest and pushing him backward a little.

I needed to breathe.

"What we have between us is an arranged marriage, I see no need for a contract," I told him with a frown.

"Arranged or not, we have to be faithful to one another." He countered, and I furrowed my brows at him in confusion.

What was he trying to say? Then it hit me, and I gasped, my eyes widening.

"You want to cheat?" I half-yelled, and he chuckled.

"Obviously. I can't leave Lilith, I love her." He said, and I winced once again, my heart tightening in pain.

God! Why does he hurt so much?

"I am not allowing that." I found myself saying before I could stop myself, and he narrowed his eyes at me.

"Why? We have no feelings for one another. This marriage is not even our decision." He said, and I sighed.

"So a contract marriage?" I asked, and he nodded.

"Yes. That way, we wouldn't disappoint our fathers and could still be with whomever we want." He began, and I folded my hands across my chest.

"We also get divorced in three years." He added with a smile and a huge lump formed in my throat.

"Alright, but we must have a child together." I went to sit on his bed, my legs wobbling.

"Why? Are you beginning to fall for me? Come to think of it, why are you so hung up on marrying me all of a sudden?" He grinned, and I felt like punching it off his face.

"Don't flatter yourself, idiot. I can never fall for a jerk like you. I need a child because no man would want to be with a divorced woman." I explained to his dumb brain, hoping to convince myself with the same narrative.

"I don't believe that." He frowned, and I rolled my eyes, feeling like my head was on fire.

"Believe what?" I asked as I collapsed onto his bed.

"That no man would want you. You are a very beautiful lady, growing into a sexy woman. No dude, in his right sense, wouldn't want you." Griffin said, and my heart melted, butterflies fluttering in my stomach.

"Really?" I sat up to ask, and he nodded, folding his arms across his chest as he rested on the wall.

"Yes," he answered, and I found myself pouting.

"Then why are you risking our arranged marriage for Lilith?" I glared, and he froze before faking laughter.

"Because I am not in my right mind." He answered, and just then, the towel fell off his waist, revealing his length between his thighs.

Both our eyes widened in shock, especially when his dick started to swell. I wanted to scream but just dropped my mouth open and stared at the huge piece of meat dangling.

He immediately bent, allowing me a glimpse of his well-rounded butt and I shut my eyes immediately, my cheeks burning.

What the hell, Lena?

"You can open your eyes now." He said, and I did, grabbing my bag in the process, and ran out of his room, ignoring his calls.

"Fuck!" I muttered under my breath, biting my lower lip hard.

How could Griffin be that huge?

"Miss Lena, young Master Grim wishes to see you." I heard a tiny voice behind me and turned to see a little girl in a cheer uniform, her hands tied behind her back.

"Really? Why?" I asked, feeling my cheeks burning once again as I got reminded of the incident that happened between us, yesterday evening.

"N-n- L-l." The girl began fumbling with words and I narrowed my eyes at her, a feeling of dread going through me.

"I d-don't k-know." She stuttered, tapping her feet against the floor and refusing to look me in the eyes.

I decided to ignore it. Maybe she was just shy.

"Where am I meeting him?" I asked and she trembled like I had hit her or something.

"At the school garden." She answered and scurried away before I could say anything else.

What a weird girl! But then she was wearing a cheer uniform, so she must truly be from Griffin.

I took in a deep breath and made my way to the school garden, humming and trying to stop my heart from racing too fast. I walked into the garden but saw nothing.

I was about to shout for Griffin when I heard a loud howl and turned only to let out a shriek at what I saw, my entire body rigid with shock, as my mind reeled, trying to process what I had just seen.

Without thinking, I dashed towards the almost dead wolf, covered in blood. It had brown fur, and I realized it was a pup, so I took it into my arms.

I felt bad as he whimpered due to pain. A knife was shoved into his belly, and I immediately removed it, and blood splashed everywhere. Before he let out another howl and died, his dark eyes closed.

My heart shattered, and I found it hard to breathe. Who could be so cruel to hurt such a cute creature?

I was still wondering when I heard a very dangerous growl and out of nowhere, a creature pounced on me, pushing me to the ground and making me drop the dead pup to the ground.

It was another wolf, but huge and terrifying with its grayish-brown fur. My heart skipped a beat as I realized it was the mother of the pup and probably thought I was the killer of her baby, with the way it was sneering at me.

Before I could talk to it, the wolf scratched me on my arm, making me let out a cry of pain, as agony went through me.

The spot began bleeding, and the wolf moved to scratch me again, this time, aiming at my eyes, but I instantly caught her claws with one of my hands while holding her heavy body with another.

It felt like my hand was about to break for she was struggling seriously to be let free.

Fury running through it. I knew I had to do something fast or scream for help; otherwise, I would be killed.

"Jane, get off her." I heard a familiar voice and turned to see Griffin. I breathed a sigh of relief as the wolf obeyed him and made to dash towards him when he stopped me with a hand.

"Lena, don't tell me you killed my pet?" He roared and my blood ran cold, the hairs at the back of my head standing up.
