Chapter 7: Mine To Claim

Madeline

His words made my body tense, and me gasping for air. Even though I hated him, I found myself being aroused by his words and for a moment, I thought of pulling down my clothes and spreading my legs as he had commanded, but then reality struck me. I remembered everything. The pain, the betrayal. The reason I left.

I couldn't believe he still has the guts to say such dirty words to me. How dared him? When he saw I wasn't responding, he tries to pull off my coat, it got me pissed up and irritated that I didn't even know when my hands landed on his Face.

The sounds reverberated through the room, sharp and loud, continuously ringing in my ears as I drifted away from him in fear. My hands trembling, realising what I have done.

“I'm sorry,” I apologise, kneeling down immediately knowing he could punish me in the most wicked way if he wants and nobody will stop him. “I…. I… didn't mean to.” I stutter, my breath shaking as I tried to explain.

Chapter 41When I arrived at the hospital, everything looked normal on the surface. Nurses were already moving about, the smell of antiseptic filled the air, and faint murmurs echoed from the hallways. But deep down, I knew something was wrong. I could feel it.“Good morning, ma’am,” my assistant greeted as soon as I stepped into my office.“Morning,” I replied flatly, dropping my bag on the table. “How’s the patient in Ward Seven?”“She’s stable,” the assistant said carefully, though her tone hinted she wasn’t entirely sure. “But… she asked to see you again.”I let out a quiet sigh, removing my white coat from the chair and putting it on. “Alright. I’ll go.”Walking down the hallway, I could feel the tension growing stronger. My wolf stirred inside me uneasily, warning me that this wasn’t a simple case. When I pushed the ward door open, Autumn was sitting up in bed, her hair neatly brushed this time, her expression calm. She smiled. “Doctor Madeline.”Her voice carried an odd warmth,

Chapter 40The sound of the rain outside mixed with the quiet sobs that escaped from Madeline’s lips. She sat on the edge of the bed, her fingers clenched tightly around the small pendant Rowan had once given her. It glowed faintly in her palm, like a reminder of a bond she was trying so hard to forget. She lifted her eyes when the door creaked open and William stepped in. His expression was calm, but his eyes carried exhaustion. He had been out for most of the day, trying to sort out the papers for their relocation.“Are you okay?” he asked gently, dropping his briefcase on the chair.Madeline nodded, but her silence told another story. She couldn’t bring herself to look at him for long. Not when guilt weighed so heavily on her.“You have barely touched your dinner,” he said, walking closer. “Is it still the headache?”She shook her head slowly. “No. I’m fine. Just… tired.”William sighed and sat beside her. “You’ve been saying that a lot lately, Maddie. Talk to me. Did something hap

Chapter 39 Three weeks passed quietly after Madeline and her family settled in the small town near the river. The air there was different—soft and peaceful, far from the heavy tension of the werewolf world. The sound of children laughing in the garden filled their mornings, and the scent of wildflowers carried through their open windows.Madeline had begun to believe that maybe, just maybe, peace was possible.Every morning she helped the triplets get ready for school. Ethan and Ella always argued about whose shoes were cleaner, while Evan complained that his breakfast was too hot. William watched them all with a tired smile as he tied his tie for work.Madeline stood by the doorway, her heart full as she looked at her family. This was what she had always dreamed of—a normal life without blood, fights, or orders. Just love.“Mom, can I take the blue lunch box today?” Ella asked.Madeline smiled and handed it over. “Only if you promise not to lose it this time.”Ella nodded eagerly an

Chapter 38 The night air was cold and heavy as Rowan returned to his packhouse. Every step he took felt slower than the last. His wolf was restless inside him, clawing to be let out, but he fought to keep control. He had done what he thought was right by letting Madeline go, yet nothing about it felt right. It felt like something had been ripped out of him. When he entered his room, the silence was unbearable. The scent of Madeline still lingered faintly on his bed sheets. He sat on the edge of the bed and pressed his palm against his chest as pain tore through him. It was not physical pain. It was deeper. It was the pain of a bond breaking. His wolf howled inside him, resisting it, refusing to let go of their mate. Rowan clenched his jaw and forced a deep breath. “Calm down,” he whispered to himself. “She made her choice.”But his wolf did not listen. He could feel the animal in him trembling with rage and sorrow. His hands shook as his eyes glowed gold. He stood up and punched the

Chapter 37The next morning, Rowan stood in his office, staring at a map spread across the desk. Red marks covered the paper, circling several human towns. He had sent his best scouts to search for William and the triplets, but so far, there was no trace of them. His patience was wearing thin. Every passing day without them felt like fire in his chest. He wanted to see his children, to prove that they were his, and to make Madeline understand that she belonged by his side. When his beta, Connor, entered the room, Rowan’s eyes lifted sharply. “Tell me you have news,” he said.Connor nodded slightly. “We might have found something. One of our trackers caught the scent of wolves near the southern border. A woman and three children were spotted traveling with a man who fits William’s description.”Rowan’s hand tightened into a fist. “Where?”“Near the human village close to the river,” Connor replied. “They were moving at night, keeping to the woods. It looks like they’re trying to reach

Chapter 36 – Madeline barely slept that night. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw William’s face, the triplets’ laughter, and Rowan’s cold stare. Her heart ached with fear and guilt. She sat by the window, watching the faint light of dawn creep through the trees. She was back in the same place she had once called home, but it no longer felt like home. The walls seemed closer, the air heavier. It felt like a golden prison built just for her. When morning came, a maid knocked softly on her door. “Luna, breakfast is ready,” the girl said politely, keeping her eyes low.Madeline hated that name now. “Don’t call me that,” she said softly. “I am not your Luna.”The girl nodded quickly and hurried away, leaving the tray of food on the table. Madeline wasn’t hungry. She just stared at the food until her stomach turned. Her thoughts were on her children. Were they safe? Did William manage to hide them well? She prayed silently that Rowan’s men would not find them.As she stood up, her ey
