Chapter 06: Pureblood

Raizel wasn't fully asleep. As an experienced C.I.A, she was never, in her life, sleep without a care. As an agent facing dangers at all times, and also as a swordman, her guard never lowered once in her life.

Because her reincarnation process was not complete, her memories and experience of the previous life were still with her. However, her grief, regret, anger, and all other feelings were renewed. She guesses that it has something to do with what Creos was writing on the floor of that space.

Back to the current scene. She barely felt being forced out. Then heard the faint voice saying,

"The feet are coming out, mistress!"

"Eh? Why was it the feet? Shouldn't head comes first?" The same voice said in bewilderment.

"Haha! Let her. Pull her out now, she might return to her mother's tummy again," said the hypnotic voice from earlier.

Pull out? What? Does it mean that she is being born again? So rebirth exist—

'Ah, wait! If my feet come first, then my nose will be affected!'

Realizing this, Raizel quickly put her hands on her nose to protect it from being destroyed by her mother's soft portal.

...

And so, when the maid pulled the baby out, she was flabbergasted by the scene she saw. The baby's hand was on her nose as if she's covering it from a disgusting smell.

Unconsciously, the maid looked down to sniff herself. Confirming she does not smell bad,

"I'm not smelly, second miss," said the maid innocently and blinked her eyes in confusion.

Everyone present in the room laughed at the maid's reaction. The maid blushed in embarrassment when she realized what she has done. She forgot that the child in her hands was just a newborn, and was without any concept of what is smelly or not.

...

Raizel felt helpless. She was just protecting her nose from getting deformed! She never said someone is smelly, alright?

Upon coming out, the first thing she noticed was she still can not open her eyes. The invisible force that was dragging her into a deep sleep was still present. However, she felt a very warm feeling surging into her. She can feel the refreshing air— no, it's not the air, it is some sort of energy within the air that welcomes her with— glee? It's strange, but she can feel that they are delighted by her presence.

She can feel them dancing around her as if asking for permission to enter her body. 'Enter my body? What are these weird thoughts I'm having?'

....

Raze took his child into his arms and stopped the flow of his hypnotizing iev. As he was transferring the child into his wife, the child slowly opened her eyes.

When it became fully opened, he was stunned. His hands halted in mid-air. He can feel the disturbance of iev in his surroundings. They were all surging... towards him. No, rather... they were all surging towards his child!

He look at his child who stared back at him with those dark purple eyes. Then he suddenly burst out laughing,

"Pureblood! A pureblood! Our child is a pureblood, wife! My child is a pureblood! Hahahaha!" he said and laughed loudly as if he won a lottery. His usual calm composure was gone.

Erel and the two maids were stunned. Pureblood rarely appears even after a century. Yet it appeared today, and she is their child.

The two maids, however, weren't too surprised. Their master and mistress were both amazing as an individual, so it is not that surprising that a pureblood would appear from their bloodline. What surprised them was their master's reaction.

He was usually calm and stern. He always portrays a reliable figure, a pillar. It made them forgot that he's not only their master but also a father.

The two maids look at their mistress's smiling face while watching her husband embracing their child, dancing with glee.

Soon, they saw the mistress closed her eyes with a faint smile hanging on her lips. The scene was so warm that the two maids can't help but also smile in silence.

Outside, Colton and Errizel heard the laughter and the announcement about the child being pureblood and were elated. Errizel was about to join in the fun when the ground suddenly shook. She turned to see trees were being toppled in the distance. Small birds all flew with a shriek, as if afraid of something.

Colton's expression became serious. He remembered the text on an ancient book. Pureblood, an existence that rarely appears on a lineage of a bloodline. They have the highest aptitude in cultivating iev. However, as they possess the purest blood, they are also the most delicious food of beasts and monsters. No, not just those, they are also the target of evil cultivators.

Well, pureblood can hide their identity from evil cultivators but they can not hide their scent from beasts and monsters. Because they have a strange connection to purebloods that was still left a mystery until today.

And Colton suspects that the cause of the disturbance in the distance was the beasts attracted by the scent of the newborn child. Colton didn't guess that long before he saw a swarm of beasts heading in their direction.

.....

Right after Raizel was born, all the beasts within the region of Ompus Wilderness smelled the most aromatic scent they had in their lifetime. It is some sort of fragrance that drove them out of their mind.

Ferum Valley. It is a valley located on the west within the Ompus wilderness filled with poisonous inhabitants. Deep within this valley, there's a cave. Strangely, a radius of about four meters around the cave, except for some lush trees and grasses, no sign of life can be found.

Entering the cave, black scales, in a plate's size, scattered all across the rocky ground. Deeper into the cave, there's a small lake. Even with low visibility, one can spot a lone flower in the middle of it. Next to it is a man sitting in a lotus position. His eyes were closed. He's wearing a black cloak. His long, black, and silky hair was loosely tied in a ponytail.

As the fragrance passed by his nose, his closed eyes trembled and snapped open. A yellow iris with a black vertical slit pupil stared into the air. His vision saw through the walls of the cave, out to the rivers, passed the lush forestry, the barrier, the small mansion, and landed on the familiar figure carrying a baby with purple eyes.

This did not happen to the man alone. A lady in the north in brown feathery dress, and the old man in a white robe with white long hair and beard, all snapped open their eyes and sent their vision towards the heart of the Ompus wilderness. What they saw all made them utter the word,

"Pureblood." Greed shone upon their listless eyes.

....

Raze sensed three dangerous glares of iev and was awoken from his drunken joy.

He turned to look at the air. There he found, three different orbs floating in the air. This is...

"A vision iev." His eyes narrowed dangerously. He recognizes the owner of this ieves.

Suddenly, he remembered the danger that a pureblood has to face upon birth. He grabbed the empty air and crushed the three vision iev. As a result, the three senders covered their eyes to ease the pain. However, a strange smile was pasted on their lips.

Afterward, Raze then instructed the maids,

"Prepare the runic portal. We have to leave this place!"

Everyone in the room was surprised by the sudden stern tone of command in Raze's voice.

As they were about to move and obey the command, they discovered a problem.

"Milord, with just the two of us, it will take at least three days to complete the activation of the portal," said the first maid. That is... if no accident happens.

"It's fine," Raze said. He never thought this to be a problem.

With the barrier he set up, it will take at least half a month for an individual to break it. Even if all the forces of Ompus wilderness join forces, including the three monsters, it will only be lowered to seven days.

And they would be gone by then. Also, Colton and Errizel are here. Summing all these factors, escaping this place is almost a sure ball.

He was only bothered because the sealing process of a pureblood will take more than half of his strength. Also, Erel is disabled in fights because of birthing. Even as a cultivator, Erel will have to take two weeks to fully recover.

He's sure Colton will be able to take down one of those three monsters. In his weakened state, he'll be able to take down one too. But what about the other one? Errizel, even by joining hands with the two maids, isn't strong enough to face the last one. Not to say, there is also those swarm of beasts. They also have to protect the child and his wife.

He is not willing to gamble his family's life on battles. Since there is a chance to escape, then he shall take this route.

After all, he can return here anytime to let these animals see who the ruler of Ompus wilderness is. His eyes glinted a dangerous light.

Through the window, he looked at the sun that was starting to set. His thoughts were unknown.

He put down the child beside his, now sleeping, wife. Then walk out of the room. He has preparations to make.

.....

Meanwhile, miles away from the Ompus Wilderness, a palace lie in silence.

This palace has a design akin to that of the palaces from the middle ages. Only, it was crafted out of moonstone. A sheen of pearl's lustre covered its smooth surface. It's white with a little shade of blue that helps to tone down the brightness. Lush trees surrounded it. With the sun setting in the background, the palace appeared like a shining pearl in the middle of seaweeds.

A golden gate was tightly shut in front. A big spade symbol made out of unknown shiny black stone was carved in the middle of it. Beyond it was a garden of flowers, then followed by a spacious patio with limestone as its floor.

A tightly shut silver-like door, made out of unknown material, lays at the end of this patio. A mist is currently in front of it, slowly seeping through a small gap between the door.

After the mist passed through the door, a huge room was laid.

There's a diamond throne in front. Sitting there is a man with calm yet calculative phyton-like eyes. It is no logic to say that he's the King.

Below the throne stands two groups of men, divided by a red path made out of red stone similar to ruby. It was strange. But despite facing the King, these men have no reverence or fear in their eyes, which was supposed to be present on a subject's facial expression.

They are divided into two groups. The first group was wearing a red robe and has occupied the left side of the room. The second group was wearing blue and has taken the right side.

In the middle of the room, a pearl-like crystalized chandelier hang; silently announcing the extravagance of the owner.
