~ Chapter 6 ~

I blinked in disbelief as Scott apologised. He looked unsure and like he'd never said sorry in his entire lifetime. I sat upright and giggled. He cocked his brows looking at me confused.

"What's so funny?"he asked.

"Your way of apologising is awful" I grinned and he frowned the more. Maybe I could just have a little fun with this.

"Where I come from, you apologise with a little peace offering" I said trying to look serious. He snorted and then nodded.

"Fine! We'll have dinner" he said and it was my turn to frown. Who does he think he is.

"I didn't hear a question" I said.

"I thought you wanted a peace offering. Did I still have to ask?" He looked really annoying right now with a smirk on his face. His lashes was hooded with laughter. I certainly looked horrified right now.

"You still needed to ask" I snapped.

"Fine. Storm, would you have dinner with me as a little peace offering?" He asked with a smug smile and I wanted to wipe it off his face. I would've made my move but a pretty red head strolled up to us and shook hands with Scott. I must say, he reminds me of a pop singer in all that red.

"Storm, this is Kale" Scott introduced and I shook his hand but he wouldn't stop grinning at me then he nudge Scott on the shoulder. "She's pretty" he said with a wink. Have they been discussing me? I couldn't even stop my cheeks from getting all shades of pink so I looked away.

"Get out" Scott said, shoving him away. He laughed and trotted of.

"I'll see you around" Kale said to me before skipping off. I looked at Scott and he was staring at me. It's like he doesn't ever take his eyes of me .

"He seems nice" I complemented but Scott scoffed.

"He's much more annoying than me. I'll give him that" Scott said looking in the direction Kale went.

"Not true. Your more annoying"

He chuckled and then looked serious again. "So. Dinner?"

*****

I skipped into Rose Cafe and spotted the sweet blonde mixing a dough. She looked really good at what she did. I strolled to her.

"Hey Rose"

Her face lighted up like a thousand stars when she spotted me and I felt adored. I took the bar stool in front of her. I poked my hands in the dough and then licked my finger...

"I hope I get some of these"

"You will and I hope an angry boy won't stomp in here again" she said with a wide grin. Ever since Scott came here, she's been teasing me.

"He asked me to have dinner with him" I told her and she clapped her hands like a teenager. "It's nothing Rose" I sighed with a roll of my eyes. "It's just a simple peace offering." I chuckled at my sentence.

"That's nice" She pulled off her gloves and then started shaping the dough into nuts. I helped her until we made a hundred doughs. I was given ten free dough, though I feel it was too much but I thanked her with tears in my eyes. She's been taking care of me since I got here.

"I'll make you tarts tomorrow" Rose said kissing my cheek. I nodded and then waved her goodbye. I stepped out of the cafe staring at my watch. Oh no! It's past six. I tried stopping a taxi so I could hurry to my flat when a Chevrolet camaro stopped in front of me. I didn't have to think twice before I knew it was Scott.

He came down and walked toward me with a full grin. He looked the same as always. In black. His knee length jacket was a brown one. Which was weird to see him in.

"All done?" He asked me.

"You were waiting for me?" I asked.

"Yes. Get in" he pointed to the opened door of his car. I folded my arms staring at him.

"Manners, Scott." I stated and he sighed.

"Please, get in"

It still sounded rude but I won't hold it against him. He's trying his best, I could see that. I slid into his camaro relaxing against the brown leather seat. The coolness made my skin tingle. Scott noticed it and turned the heater on.

"Sorry" he said. He was saying a lot of that recently. What's up? When I first met him, I felt like he couldn't even lift a finger not to talk of saying sorry. I wonder if he says please.

"It's ok" I shuffled in the seat as Scott drove out of the cafe lot. "So we're we going?" I asked curiously.

"No where much" he shrugged and I must say, he looks nervous. He kept rubbing behind his neck and throwing glances at me. I looked away toward the window as I admired the tall buildings outside. We passed a lot of cafe's and I wished I was on foot so I'll try them all. New york really is a nice place. A beautiful city.

"We're here" Scott announced. Finally. I turned to where he was pointing to see a large restaurant. It looked really expensive and I wasn't ready to start asking questions. After all, he was driving a Chevrolet Camaro and always had that rich bad boy look.

Scott placed his hands at my lower back making my body shiver. That affected me. He led me into the restaurant. I see he reserved a place already. He pulled my chair out and I smiled at him before seating.

I don't know what made me pick the menu up but when I did, I gulped. "Nice place" I choked out. Scott stared at me. "It's too expensive" I whispered to him. "

"Let me handle that" Scott picked up his own menu and glared at the book unaffected. If you ask me, I'll say he wasn't pleased with the food on the menu.

"I'm not letting you pay for my dinner"I told him. I pushed the menu aside before I couldn't see anything else but the large writings of expensive food.

"This is a peace offering. Storm" he said my name slowly and making it sound sexy. He's the first to call me Storm since I came here. The rest just call me Stormy.

"Doesn't mean I shouldn't try to be decent too" I shrugged

"I'm paying"he said finally and placed his menu down. The nerve! I considered standing up and walking out but the foods on the menu looked so good I want to try them all.

"Look I'm not used to all this alright"he was rubbing behind his neck again.

I scoffed. "So you don't have a girlfriend you take out?"

"I don't do romance" he said. I don't know why but I felt disappointed. I shrugged and picked up my menu again. Fine! He'll pay. But if he doesn't do romance what does he do anyway?
