Twenty seven: Hands up

"And that was how it happened." Roy intertwined our fingers together, smiled widely. 

We were walking down the silent road, heading somewhere. Our date had lasted about an hour already. After he had parked his bike close to a coffee shop, he had asked us to stroll to where he was taking me to. 

"I love these earrings." I smiled as I told him that. He had bought it for me, and I loved it! It was gold and it looked quite expensive. I didn't appreciate expensive things, but I liked that this one was from him. 

He stopped walking, and I did the same. About to turn to him, he hurried to stand in front of me. As he did so, he grinned. I was confused by that, but I said nothing. Could he be checking me out? He hadn't complimented my looks, and I was surely still expecting him to talk about it.
