Janet POV

"I will be off to work, if you need anything just call me and I will answer immediately," Asphalt patted my head before he left my room.

He had barely escaped death and he still had the courage to go to work. My fear must have been ineffective on him.

I watched from my window as He drove out of the compound and smiled pleasantly. Today, I and Joe planned to meet up. I went into my closet and changed into something sexy enough to get his attention.

On getting to the front door, Margaret decided to be a thorn on my skin.

"You are supposed to be resting. Your husband will not be glad to find out that you left the house in your condition. He strictly warned me to have a good rest before he gets back," she said with a straight face that got on my nerves.

"I just want to meet up with my friends. It would be nice if I got some fresh air. I am tired of being cooped up in my room everyday. I am sure Asphalt will not mind me stepping out for a moment," I I flashed her a fake smile.
