Escape

"Take off these clothes! You're more beautiful without anything on your body!"

The voice kept ringing in her ears, and her feet moved swiftly away from the castle.

Her breathing was so ragged that she almost fell down due to the tightness.

Bruk!

Erlyn Gristin, the black straight-haired girl with long legs wrapped in snow-white leather, finally fell on the fresh grass of the forest.

The sun was about to rise, and she needed to get to the harbor of the Northern city quickly. If she did not get there, then Dantley Swiftclaw would catch her immediately.

"I don't want to go back... I don't want to go back...."

The voice faded as her beautiful eyelids closed.

As the sun revealed its form, her eyes opened slowly, and a woman appeared in her dimly lit vision.

"What is a girl like you doing in the forest? Did you turn into a wolf last night?" asked the middle-aged woman.

Suddenly, she woke up and got up in surprise.

"Don't be afraid, I'm just a harmless omega circle, so you have nothing to fear, pretty girl."

The blue eyes were perfectly rounded, and there was anxiety in her gaze.

"I'm being held captive... Please help me."

"Kidnapped?"

Erlyn nodded quickly, and at that moment, her breathing sounded calmer.

"But who is holding you captive? Are you an omega girl?"

Erlyn nodded without answering in words.

The two of them stared at each other in silence until the silence was broken.

Bang!

The sound of gunfire soaring above the forest sky made the two women jump.

"Please save me, they'll catch me if they find me. Hide me anywhere. Please!" Erlyn pleaded in a hoarse, crying voice.

"But what if they find out I'm hiding you? They'll definitely kill me."

"Hide me anywhere, help me... Hiks."

The woman with a bamboo basket full of fresh fruits on her back felt compassion for the girl who was overwhelmed with anxiety.

"I'm going to sell fruit at the harbor. You can come with me and hide in the cart."

The nameless woman pulled Erlyn along quickly, and Erlyn followed at a brisk pace. They emerged from the forest, and there, the fruit vendor's cart awaited.

"Climb in and hide. I'll load you up with fruit."

"Thank you."

"Never mind, just get on first."

The woman tried to push the cart that was twice as heavy as before.

"How much do you weigh? Gosh, you're not as light as I thought."

There was no reply from inside the wooden cart, as Erlyn's own fear overwhelmed her.

On the way, the men of the Alpha in charge had been patrolling. Of course, they were looking for the missing girl, and the girl's face was clearly depicted on poles and trees.

"Stop, old woman."

One of the men in a neat uniform halted the fruit cart.

"Why do you have to stop a woman who's just earning a living like me?" Her whiny face tried to cajole the uniformed man into taking pity on her.

"I just wanted to buy your fruit. Who would be suspicious of you and your cart, you old woman!"

The uniformed man replied curtly.

"Thank goodness, I thought you were going to rummage through my fruit...."

"Never mind, I won't buy fruit from a woman as fussy as you."

"Eh."

"Get lost!"

Without thinking, the woman pushed her cart back and had already passed the patrolling troops.

Arriving at the harbor, the old woman met a man who looked like her husband. They were whispering, but fortunately, the words were overheard by the girl who was hiding.

"I found a beautiful girl. In the human world, she might be worth a lot of money," the woman whispered.

"Beautiful woman? All I see is an old woman in front of me."

"She is in my cart, just a bag of gold pieces, then you can have her."

"Where is she?"

"Give me the bag of gold first, then I will give you the blue-eyed beauty."

Hearing their conversation, Erlyn clenched her hands into fists and trembled. She knew very well that she had now become the subject of a transaction.

"She's fair-skinned; even you probably can't help but touch her."

"Give me the picture first!"

The old woman pointed at the ubiquitous picture. Instantly, the man's eyes widened.

"Are you crazy? She's the girl the Alpha is looking for. You can get more than a bag of gold pieces if you find her!"

The nameless woman's eyes lit up upon hearing that, but before the woman and her male friend could make up their minds, Erlyn's head had already popped out, and she immediately jumped off the fruit cart.

"She's over there!" One of the guards shouted.

"Hey, where are you going?" The woman chased after her as well.

"Bang!"

"Don't shoot! The lord forbids us to hurt her!"

All the troops chased after the girl, and people tried to catch her, but she used her wolf power to run as fast as she could and disappeared.

"Everyone here is really cruel. They can't think and care about their fellow man other than gold and only gold."

Erlyn kept running until she reached the end of the harbor where there was only one cargo ship left. One thing Erlyn had that she had inherited from her family was the ability to sneak around.

"There's an omega girl missing, and the Alpha is looking for her."

A wild drunk who worked as a crew member was gossiping while greeting.

Erlyn was still sneaking between the walls of the ship and hiding among the empty boxes.

"If we get that girl, we'll be instantly rich."

"Ah, that's probably just Alpha's bullshit. We know very well how authoritarian he was as our leader for hundreds of years."

"But if we get a lot of money, we can live in the human world. Have fun with mortal girls."

"Maybe they won't be able to take an attack from a wolf's rocket, hahahaha!"

The drunks laughed at the not-at-all-funny joke, while Erlyn was still inside the empty box, cowering there, waiting for the cargo ship to leave for the human world, the city of mortals.

On the other hand, Dantley Swiftclaw was currently holding a wine glass in his hand and was already hot under the collar from receiving news he did not want to hear.

Prak!

The Alpha smashed the wine glass in his hand with a single crunch.

"You are incompetent in chasing after an omega girl!"

"She's using her wolf powers, my lord."

"So what?!" Dantley stared sharply; instantly, the aura around him turned extremely gripping.

"We are forbidden to use our powers if not in battle," one of them retorted while holding back fear.

"You fools are using the rules as an excuse!" Dantley's rage was no longer restrained; he shouted, making everyone tremble and dare not raise their heads.

"No, Sir..."

"Shut up! I don't know what else to do with you!"

The man with a long robe on his back turned around with a haughty and sharp gaze. He faced out of the castle and, with arrogance, said, "If you don't find her within three hours, then all the ships sailing in the harbor must be burned!"
