Chasing the Last Werewolf
Author: Gailines

Beginning

One boy is frantically searching the woods for his father in the middle of the night in the werewolf territory.

He continues to run but stops when he hears a loud noise that sounds like a bomb and is coming from the main werewolf village, where all of the best werewolves are located. Including the Alpha.

He is unsure of what to do, but in the end he decides to return to the village to know about the difficulties they are facing.

When he was almost there, he got to witness how normal folks destroyed the werewolf-built home.

He hears the baby wolf's cries as well as a mother's wailing and gnashing of teeth over the unexpected death of her child. Wolves' dead bodies are scattered all over the place.

He also observed how the other remaining werewolves are all desperately trying to survive despite the fact that they are all seriously hurt.

The kid believed that if ordinary people fought fairly, they could win.

The poison gas has spread throughout the forest. The normies have protective gear, meanwhile the werewolves are fighting when their bodies are almost giving up.

One of the werewolves looked at him and tried to approach the boy as soon as he saw him.

"Try not to breathe the air, Damian, protect your nose, if you inhale the air you will soon die," one of the werewolves said. The werewolf switched back to human form.

"Find your dad, the search should not be go to waste. Go! Run Damian run for your life! Run for the future of the werewolves!"

He quickly covered his nose with his hands as soon as he heard him yell. He dashed as fast as he could.

There are some unanswered questions in his mind. Why the sudden attack of ordinary people? Why now, when it's almost done?

In the middle of the forest where he still can hear the screaming of his tribe. For the sake of the werewolf race's future, he must save his father.

He heard someone yell out his father's name, "Luan!"

He ran in that direction but stopped when he discovered his father lying on the ground fighting for his life.

He thoroughly searched the area before spotting the only werewolf running in various directions. Although he never saw this wolf, he is aware that it killed his father.

"No dad! Wake up, we need to save our tribe, we need to save the future of this tribe!" he yelled, trying to rouse his father.

His father has one eye open and is mumbling something that he can't hear, so he nears him.

"You. continue. the. search."

This is the last thing he hears from his father.

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday, dear Samara, happy birthday to you," her father sang to her.

Today is her seventh birthday, and she is spending it with her parents.

"This is our birthday present for you, our baby girl," her father said, handing her a red box.

"Dad, I'm not your baby anymore, I'm already a big girl," she pouted.

She accepted the box from her father. When she opened it, she found the lovely necklace. The said necklace's pendant is shaped like a diamond and is red, her favorite color.

"Thank you, mom and dad," she says as she hugs them.

(NEWS REPORT: The tribe of werewolves has been finally defeated. Nobody ends up making it and they are all killed by our tribe, the humans. The war between the werewolves and humans are now finish.)

Samara became interested in the news after hearing it. She keep looking at the screen in the television and she knows something is wrong with this news.

"Honey, turn off the television; we need to take pictures," her mother instructed her.

She rushes up to her and hugs her tightly, her mom laugh at her because of this.

"Can I sleep with you and dad tonight, Mom?" she asked.

Her mother suddenly made a gesture as if she was thinking. As an answer, her mother gave her a hug and responded by nodding.

Her dad teased her, "I thought you were already a big girl but you keep sleeping beside us," which made her laugh.

Her parents quickly dozed off when it finally got dark. She made every effort to fall asleep, but she was unable to because of her weary mind.

She was still thinking about the news she had just heard.

She gets out of bed and manages to find a window. When she has a bad dream, she enjoys gazing at the moon.

It had been almost a few minutes when she suddenly heard footstep sounds coming from the woods close to their home.

Behind the tree, she caught sight of a shadowy human figure. She quickly returns to bed in order to awaken her father when the window breaks unexpectedly. The loud noise quickly caused her parents to awaken.

She can clearly see the figure she was looking at a few moments ago. But it's no longer a human; it's a large dog, or should she say a large wolf.

She is unable to describe the wolf because of the darkness of the room and the fact that the moon was the only source of light.

When the wolf attacked her father, her mother hid her somewhere in the house. She is at a loss for what to do, especially since her mother has left her to check on his father.

She has no idea what happened, and the next thing she remembers is that there are a lot of police officers in their house.

"What do you remember, kid?" one of the cops inquired.

She is completely clueless. She was only seven years old when this happened. But one of her words made the entire police department laugh. She looked at them with curiosity and she was trying to understand what is happening.

"My parents were killed by a werewolf."
