On the first day we got back together, Leo Laycand posted two photos of us on his social media.

In one, we stand side by side at the Moon Goddess altar, our silhouettes caught in profile. The caption read, "A fresh beginning with the Moon Goddess as our witness."

I stared at the photo for a long time before finally noticing the tiny lock icon in the bottom right corner, indicating he had hidden the post from "Lisa Laycand."

"Satisfied now?" Leo's voice sounded behind me. He tossed his phone onto the training post in front of me. "Next time, don't make a fuss over something this small."

I looked up at him. I had been drawn to that face for three long years. Ever since my 18th birthday, when I first saw him standing at the altar, eyes gleaming like molten amber, I knew I never stood a chance.

My name was Raina Burst. I was just an ordinary Omega, while Leo was the son of the Alpha of Laycand Pack. We lived in entirely different worlds.

I fought my way forward for three years, just to barely earn a place at his side.

And then it became a cycle. "Lisa's sick," he'd say. "She's my sister, so don't be so harsh on her."

The last time we broke up, it was because Lisa wanted him by her side for the "Bloodline Anniversary", so they stayed in the Whispering Forest until dawn. When I asked if he’d forgotten my birthday, he claimed I was overreacting.

When I wanted to end our relationship, he told me, "Do as you like."

That was because he knew I wouldn't bear to end things with him. For the past three years, it was always me who would give in.

"You hid the post from Lisa," I told him.

He froze.

"Leo." My voice was calm. "You and Lisa are not biologically related."

"If she's the one you want, I can call off the engagement so you both can be together."

The words shocked even me as they left my mouth.

For the past three years, whenever it involved Lisa, I always lost control. I'd yell and question him, accusing him of favoring her as tears welled up in my eyes.

Now, as I told him they could be together, my tone was as calm as if we were talking about tomorrow's training schedule.

Leo stared at me, his eyes swirling with shock and… Was that a hint of panic?

"That's enough!" His Alpha's presence exploded, shaking the sand into a fine cloud.

I didn't even flinch. The force that once made me want to drop to my knees now swept past me like wind over stone, leaving nothing behind.

Leo stared at me for a long time before his voice softened. "I didn't think things through."

The caption was changed to, "We're back together, set to renew our engagement on the full moon."

The post was visible to everyone now.

He reached out to touch my necklace, but I dodged out of his way.

A sudden, inexplicable irritation bubbled up inside me.

"If there's nothing else, I have to continue my training." I turned to leave.

A few steps out, I suddenly stopped.

Knowing Lisa, she should be here soon.
