150. The Evidence

Elysia's Pov

"I don't know what you're talking about, Damon," I say, my voice shaking with fear. "Please, you have to believe me."

Damon looks intrigued by my denial, and for a moment, I think he might let me go. But then he shakes his head and releases his grip on my arm.

"Fine," he says, his voice cold and distant. "Go."

I rub my wrist slightly, trying to ease the pain where his fingers had dug in, before turning and walking slowly out of the room. Once I'm outside, I break into a run, my heart pounding in my chest as I race towards my car.

I can feel the fear gripping me as I drive out of the villa and onto the street. My hands are shaking on the steering wheel, and I find it hard to catch my breath.

As I drive across the bridge, my mind is a blur of emotions - fear, anger, and confusion all mingling together. And then, suddenly, I can't take it anymore. I pull over to the side of the road and jump out of my car, gasping for breath.
