Flora's POV
It had been two weeks since Alora joined our pack, and the whole pack seemed to revolve around her now. But that wasn’t what bothered me. What really got under my skin were the comparisons people started to make between us.
Alora was well-mannered and softhearted, traits that seemed to endear her to everyone. Even Milani couldn’t stop singing her praises.
I wasn’t jealous. Truly, I was happy for her. She was finally getting the care and attention she had missed out on for so long.
But my father’s behavior toward me had shifted, and that hurt. Before Alora’s arrival, I had been the apple of his eye, his cherished daughter. Now, it was as if I no longer existed. He ignored my words, my presence, as though I had never been his beloved child.
And Zack... Zack had grown distant. I didn’t know what had changed, but these past few weeks, he seemed so far away.
I had returned to my room earlier than usual after dinner because I wanted to do something to entice Zack, to remind him of the bond we shared. Maybe tonight, we could rekindle what felt lost. So I took a long, soothing shower, then slipped into the perfect nightgown.
When I stepped out of the bathroom, a blush crept across my cheeks as I looked at Zack sitting on the bed, scrolling through his phone.
Since our engagement, my father had allowed us to share the same bedroom, a decision that had once filled me with excitement.
I walked toward the bed, drying my hair with a towel. Sitting on the opposite side, I felt Zack’s attention shift. He lowered his phone, his gaze moving to my wet hair and then down to my nightgown.
Placing his phone on the nightstand, he moved closer to me. My heart raced as his hand cupped my cheek, his thumb brushing gently against my skin.
He leaned in and kissed my cheek before trailing soft kisses down my neck. “You planned to seduce me, didn’t you?” he teased against my skin.
I bit my lip, pushing gently against his chest.
“What?” he asked, his tone confused.
I met his eyes, hesitating before speaking. “Why have you been so distant lately? Has someone else captured your attention?”
My question seemed to take him by surprise. His expression darkened, a bitter look crossing his face as he pulled away. “What are you asking, Flora?”
Guilt washed over me as I saw the hurt in his eyes. I reached for his hands, but he pushed mine away. The rejection stung.
Afraid of losing him, I wrapped my arms around him, holding him tightly. “I’m sorry,” I whispered. “But please, promise me you won’t fall in love with someone else.”
He stiffened at my words, and I pulled back to look at him.
He didn’t reply. Instead, he pushed me gently onto the mattress and kissed me.
I melted into the kiss, letting his touch erase my fears. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I pulled him closer.
It had been so long since we’d been this intimate.
As if sensing my need, Zack began unbuttoning his shirt. His hands moved to the ribbon of my nightgown, tugging at it with deliberate slowness.
I closed my eyes, surrendering to him.
But just as he slipped the nightgown off my shoulders, his phone rang, its loud trill shattering the moment.
Zack’s attention shifting to the nightstand. With a sigh, he moved away and grabbed his phone. His brow furrowed while he read the screen.
“What is it?” I asked, sitting up.
He glanced at me apologetically. “Sorry, dear. There’s an emergency.”
Disappointment settled in my chest, but I nodded. “Okay.”
Zack reached out, brushing a hand over my cheek. “I’ll be back as soon as it’s handled. I promise.”
I forced a smile, watching as he left the room.
Alone in bed, my thoughts drifted back to the beginning of our relationship. I was ten years old when I got lost at the pack’s border. Rogues had chased me, injuring me badly. I’d ended up in a coma, and when I woke, Zack was there by my side.
He had saved me.
In that moment, I had fallen for him completely.
I didn’t know how long I lay there, waiting for Zack to return, before sleep finally claimed me.

The next morning, the sound of the door closing woke me. I blinked, looking around the empty room. The faint sound of the shower running made me smile.
“Zack’s back,” I murmured, stretching lazily.
I yawned and closed my eyes again, intending to sleep a little longer. But Zack’s phone buzzed, pulling my attention to the bedside table.
I sat up, glancing at the phone where it lay charging. Normally, I wouldn’t have checked it, but a nagging feeling gnawed at me. Taking a deep breath, I picked up the phone. I tried to unlock it, but the screen flashed: “Password Incorrect.”
A sinking feeling settled in my chest. Zack had changed his password. Before I could put the phone down, a message from Alora appeared on the screen. My heart stopped as I read it: “She didn’t find out, did she?”
I was surprised. "The Lycans?" I mumbled.Samuel heard me as he replied, "Miss, I will let him know about your call.""No, no. It's okay. I will calm him later," I said and cut the call.I could imagine Aron attending the meeting with an angry face. He said he did not like lycans."Yes, I remembered! Last week, Samuel was talking about this meeting to him," I murmured, walking out of the dining room.I noticed Jason had left the living room. There was only Neyon, still sitting on the couch.I lowered my head, walking past the couches."Are you going to avoid me like this?" she asked.I paused on my tracks. "You said you don't want me to talk about you to anyone in this house," I muttered."I never asked you to ignore me, Flora," Neyon said with a sweet tone.I turned around to face her. I saw her giving me a big smile. The image of her and Alpha Fred from last night came to my mind. I averted my gaze away from her."I am not ignoring you. Just creating a healthy distance which can sav
Aron's touches made me curl my body. The creases on the white bedsheet were the proof of how ruthless he was in bed. But the pleasure was something I was yearning for the whole week."Another round?" Aron murmured, biting my earlobe. My body was numb. I did not even know how many rounds he had done.I was too shy to face him. The way he looked at my naked body, always made me look away from his intense gaze."I-Ahhh!"I moaned as he cut me off by thrusting inside me. His member was huge and thick. Every time he hit my soft spot, my body jolted in pain and pleasure. As the pleasure was getting too much to bear, tears started rolling down my eyes.I began to push his chest. "I-I can't move...."He turned my body and thrusted from behind. I moaned, hiding my face against the pillow. He leaned his head and groaned in my ear."To satisfy your king, you need to take a little more pain, princess."With every thrust, I felt like fainting. He intentionally pulled out his member and thrust it h
I shook my head. I did not want to tell him anything that I had talked with Alpha Fred in his room. I did not want the father and son to fight because of me.A woman should try to unite a family, not to break it.Thinking about my mother, I felt sad. I did not want to be a homewrecker either. She said she had been with Alpha Fred for years. Would I destroy my mother's life if I kept this man close to me?Aron cupped my cheeks and looked into my eyes. He searched for the reason for my cry."Tell me, why are you crying? If anyone dares to hurt you, I will give them a punishment they will never forget."I shook my head, brushing my face against his neck. I hid my face on his neck, taking in his scent, which was calming me.He moved his hand to my bottom and lifted me. He carried me to the bed while I hugged him like a sad koala. He sat me on the bed and sat next to me."Look at me," he spoke a little softly.I closed my eyes, shedding the last tear out of my eyes.He cupped my cheeks, ma
Neyon's brows rose up. She did not look pleased after hearing me. I could feel her.I did not know why, but I felt that fate was playing with me again. She might be right from her side. But I could not leave Aron.'He is mine. This time, I won't let my love go away from my life,' I said to myself.Alpha Fred scoffed at me. He shook his head with a chuckle."Every woman says the same when they get the king. But the king will only choose the woman who can be his queen. Mark my words, little girl."I did not mind his words. I was aware of his bitter relationship with his son. However, what hurt me was my mother's actions. She did not want to acknowledge me in front of anyone. If I were in her place, I would never do the same. I would have pulled my daughter to my chest and hugged her; I would have asked how she had spent her life without me. I would have told her that she would stay with me and live a new life. But nothing was the same with me.I let out a deep sigh and walked out of Alp
I was shocked. My eyes widened. When she told me that Alpha Fred promised to marry her, I was surprised, but I didn't get the time to think about our futures.Just thinking about leaving Aron shattered my heart. I have sacrificed many things in my life. I had to leave my ex-boyfriend because Alora wanted him; he also cheated on me, though. But how would I let go, Aron? He changed my life, he saved me many times, and he gave me a new life. The most important fact was I fell for him."Why do you look so upset? You yourself said you two have been together for just a few days. Fred and I have been with each other for years. Now, you can decide whose relationship is stronger."I shook my hand, losing my grip on her hands. She cupped my hands tightly and looked surprised to see my expression."I know he is the king. It may be tough for you because you can never get the king of you to let him go, but there are many people in this world who are good people. You can get a better man, you know
My heart clenched in disappointment. The first question was supposed to be how I had been all of my life. But instead of asking about me, she was asking if I had told anyone about it.I looked at her with a frown. She indirectly accepted that she was my mother."Mom—""Stop calling me that," she said, interrupting me.I did not understand why she was doing that to me. I held her hand and murmured,"Don't you like your own daughter?"She yanked her hand away from me. I lowered my hand, which was holding hers a few seconds ago.My hands were in the middle of the air, looking helpless. The hands had always been empty."Come with me," she spoke, holding my arm.I gazed at her. I saw her glancing at her left and right as if she was afraid anyone would hear us.When she confirmed that no one was there, she pulled me into the room. She closed the door and turned to me. "Look, Flora. Don't call me "Mom" in front of anyone.""But why, mom? You are my mother. Do you have any idea how long I had
