Flora was an orphan and the adopted daughter of the head Alpha of the East Howl Pack. Her life was shattered when her fiancé, Zack, returned with the Alpha's real daughter. After that, everything changed. She was heartbroken and betrayed. Her father also turned his back on her. But fate had other plans for Flora. She came across the mighty Alpha king, Aron Elton. People were scared to approach him. He was the most ruthless man every Alphas had ever met. Unexpectedly, every time Flora ran into him, a spark ignited inside her. Little did she know that their paths were destined to cross.

“Be careful!” I cried as I scurried toward the maid, who was on the verge of falling down the stairs.
Fortunately, I reached her in time. She looked up at me with wide, startled eyes. "Thank you so much, Miss. You are so kind,” she said, bowing deeply.
Pleased, I smiled warmly. “Of course. You’re all like family to me.”
“Miss Flora,” called a house servant as she hurried over, holding my phone. “It’s Kayla. She's been trying to reach you.”
I accepted the phone and barely got it to my ear before Kayla’s voice burst through the line. “Where have you been? I’ve been calling forever!”
“Sorry. I’ve been busy overseeing the decorations and everything else for tonight’s celebration.”
I was supervising the preparations for the ceremony marking the return of my fiancé, Zack Larkin, the fiercest warrior in the East Hallow Pack. Though my father was the alpha of our pack, Zack had contributed the most to its success. He made me so proud; I couldn't begin to express how much I loved him.
“Oh, come on, Flora,” Kayla said. “It’s just Zack coming back from the border. It’s not like it’s the alpha king.”
I froze mid-step. “The alpha king?” I asked, my brow furrowed. Why would she be mentioning the alpha king?
“Yeah! Guess what? Word is, he’s coming to visit our pack soon.”
Aron Elton, the alpha of all alphas, ruler over countless realms, was coming to visit our pack?
“They say he’s incredibly attractive,” Kayla added in a singsong voice. “The dreamiest of dreamy men will be here! Can you imagine?”
Dreamy? Maybe. Ruthless? Definitely. The stories were legendary.
After a few more words of excitement from her, we ended the call, and I got back to the preparations, while thinking about the news she’d conveyed.
My loyalty was to Zack, so other men, no matter how dreamy, didn’t interest me. I also didn’t understand why so many women seemed to fall for this alpha king, considering his reputation for cruelty.
Regardless, I had never met him, and frankly, I didn’t care to. Why would I want to bother when I already had the man of my dreams, a man I’d fallen for at first sight? At the time, I was sixteen; he was nineteen. Now, I couldn’t believe how quickly three years had flown by. Perhaps people lose track of time when they’re in love?
We weren’t fated mates, but we didn’t care about the mate bond. We had chosen each other and, before he departed, Zack left me with a promise that echoed in my heart. “When I get back, I’ll give you the biggest wedding.”
That was three months ago, and it was the longest we’d ever been apart. My father had sent him to deal with rebel rogues at the border, but not before he approved our engagement. As the pack’s Beta, Zack had fulfilled his duty with honor, and now, he was finally coming home.
“Flora.” One of the older maids caught my attention. “You’d better go and get ready,” she said with a warm smile, while tapping her wrist.
I nodded and headed to my bedroom suite. After a shower, I approached the gown I had chosen for the evening. As I was about to touch it, footsteps sounded outside my room. I assumed it was Milani, my lady’s maid, who would no doubt urge me to hurry.
As she entered, I smiled. “I’ll change in a minute. Stop rushing me.”
But Milani wasn’t wearing her usual smile. Her face was flushed, her expression tense.
I frowned, turning to face her fully. “What’s wrong?”
She hesitated, then bowed her head. “Miss... Zack is waiting for you in the lobby of the packhouse.”
“Zack is back?” I breathed, excitement bubbling within me.
I was about to change when Milani interrupted again. “Miss...”
Something in her voice made me pause. Her gaze flicked to mine—worried, almost anxious.
“What is it?” I asked, my heart sinking slightly.
She sighed before speaking carefully. “Zack brought a woman with him.”
Her words hit me like a punch to the stomach. My breath caught, and my heart skipped a beat.
“A... woman?” I repeated, my voice barely above a whisper.
Where had this woman come from? And what was her role in his life? “Maybe she’s just a friend,” I muttered, forcing myself to stay calm. Still, I rushed to the lobby, where the sight of Zack with a petite woman nestled in his arms brought me to a screeching halt.
My chest tightened. Please don’t let this be what it looks like.
Zack saw me, his face lighting up with a smile. He approached and took my hands in his. “Flora,” he said gently, “I found your sister.”
I stared at him, stunned. “My... sister?” I wasn’t aware I had one.
I’d been adopted, yes, but my father had never mentioned another child. Nonetheless, as my gaze shifted to him, tears and recognition shone in his eyes.
He approached her with open arms. “I finally found you, my dear,” he said, embracing her tightly.
His joy left me speechless as he turned to me. “Take care of Alora, Flora,” he said, his voice filled with emotion. “She has suffered greatly. We need to make it up to her.”
I nodded, still reeling from the revelation.
Then Alora turned to me, her voice trembling. “Sister, you’re so beautiful and capable. I’m so grateful to be here...”
I was about to comfort her, but Zack’s hands slipped from mine.
I froze as he moved to Alora, pulling her into his arms.
“It’s not your fault,” he murmured, patting her back. “This is your home now.”
I stood there, watching him wipe her tears and offer her soft words of comfort. “Welcome to the East Hallow Pack,” he said warmly.
I took a shaky breath, a sinking feeling in my chest. Something told me my life was about to change.
I was surprised to hear the boy. I turned my head, and indeed, he was right. The crowd was full of men who were only taking photos and videos of the car to post it on social media from afar instead of helping the victim. No one was kind enough to approach the person."What is wrong with these people?" I groaned in anger."Miss, don't go there," my driver said as he had already reached me.I turned to him and replied,"Don't waste time. Come with me. We have to take the person to the hospital."I rushed to the white car, which was pressing against a tree beside the road. Smoke was coming out of the car.I opened the back door and found no one. I dashed to the door next to the driver's seat and opened it.I was shocked when I saw a man whose eyes were closed. Blood was gushing out of his head, rolling down his closed eyes.I panicked. I was scared of blood. My head arched as the blood reminded me of the incident when I liked Alpha William. My eyes widened. I patted his shoulder and aske
I was shocked. A gasp came out of my mouth in response. I had never met any Lycans before I met the waiter in the cafe near Aron's company.I had already heard about how powerful and ruthless Lycans were. Whenever ranks like mine spoke about Lycans, either they spoke with respect or fear.Neyon lowered her head and looked at my face. "Are you surprised?"I blinked and looked baffled. "His mate was a Lycan?""Was? She is still alive. She is a Lycan and a very strong one.""But she is no longer his mate," I retorted back. She shook her head. "That doesn't matter."I gave her a confused look. "Why are you saying this?"She sighed, reaching out for her cup of tea. She took a long sip after blowing the smoke away. She placed the cup on her lap. Her finger moved to the circle of the cup while she spoke."My daughter, you are a little bird that King Aron caged for his pleasure. Because the love of his life is still his mate who rejected him years ago."I could not believe her. "She rejected
I was surprised. "The Lycans?" I mumbled.Samuel heard me as he replied, "Miss, I will let him know about your call.""No, no. It's okay. I will calm him later," I said and cut the call.I could imagine Aron attending the meeting with an angry face. He said he did not like lycans."Yes, I remembered! Last week, Samuel was talking about this meeting to him," I murmured, walking out of the dining room.I noticed Jason had left the living room. There was only Neyon, still sitting on the couch.I lowered my head, walking past the couches."Are you going to avoid me like this?" she asked.I paused on my tracks. "You said you don't want me to talk about you to anyone in this house," I muttered."I never asked you to ignore me, Flora," Neyon said with a sweet tone.I turned around to face her. I saw her giving me a big smile. The image of her and Alpha Fred from last night came to my mind. I averted my gaze away from her."I am not ignoring you. Just creating a healthy distance which can sav
Aron's touches made me curl my body. The creases on the white bedsheet were the proof of how ruthless he was in bed. But the pleasure was something I was yearning for the whole week."Another round?" Aron murmured, biting my earlobe. My body was numb. I did not even know how many rounds he had done.I was too shy to face him. The way he looked at my naked body, always made me look away from his intense gaze."I-Ahhh!"I moaned as he cut me off by thrusting inside me. His member was huge and thick. Every time he hit my soft spot, my body jolted in pain and pleasure. As the pleasure was getting too much to bear, tears started rolling down my eyes.I began to push his chest. "I-I can't move...."He turned my body and thrusted from behind. I moaned, hiding my face against the pillow. He leaned his head and groaned in my ear."To satisfy your king, you need to take a little more pain, princess."With every thrust, I felt like fainting. He intentionally pulled out his member and thrust it h
I shook my head. I did not want to tell him anything that I had talked with Alpha Fred in his room. I did not want the father and son to fight because of me.A woman should try to unite a family, not to break it.Thinking about my mother, I felt sad. I did not want to be a homewrecker either. She said she had been with Alpha Fred for years. Would I destroy my mother's life if I kept this man close to me?Aron cupped my cheeks and looked into my eyes. He searched for the reason for my cry."Tell me, why are you crying? If anyone dares to hurt you, I will give them a punishment they will never forget."I shook my head, brushing my face against his neck. I hid my face on his neck, taking in his scent, which was calming me.He moved his hand to my bottom and lifted me. He carried me to the bed while I hugged him like a sad koala. He sat me on the bed and sat next to me."Look at me," he spoke a little softly.I closed my eyes, shedding the last tear out of my eyes.He cupped my cheeks, ma
Neyon's brows rose up. She did not look pleased after hearing me. I could feel her.I did not know why, but I felt that fate was playing with me again. She might be right from her side. But I could not leave Aron.'He is mine. This time, I won't let my love go away from my life,' I said to myself.Alpha Fred scoffed at me. He shook his head with a chuckle."Every woman says the same when they get the king. But the king will only choose the woman who can be his queen. Mark my words, little girl."I did not mind his words. I was aware of his bitter relationship with his son. However, what hurt me was my mother's actions. She did not want to acknowledge me in front of anyone. If I were in her place, I would never do the same. I would have pulled my daughter to my chest and hugged her; I would have asked how she had spent her life without me. I would have told her that she would stay with me and live a new life. But nothing was the same with me.I let out a deep sigh and walked out of Alp
