Sitting at the dining room table, my laptop in front of me, I go through the contents of the U.S.B. Dominic gave me last night, confirming with my own eyes that he was telling me the truth. Every little detail about Sheryl’s game was unfolding before me with each video he had managed to capture, and my excitement turned into pure glee at knowing my so-called wedding day will be the Knightsbridge’s and Crow’s downfall. The elite of Vancouver City who seemed so untouchable will become laughing stocks in the public eye.
Dominic had left about an hour ago, slipping a simple silver bracelet onto my wrist before he did and telling me that he loved me. I did not respond to the sentiment since I was not sure if I was in love with him or not, but my heart did skip a beat with his gentle kiss as he told me to eat well and stay safe, something I realized Liam never did. This care and consideration was only a Dominic thing, and it made me want to trust him more, to lean on him more. But I needed to talk to Mira first.
“Miss Aurora, would you like something to eat now?” Helen calls out just as I was finishing the email with all the evidence to Mira. I open my mouth, ready to decline her offer, but my stomach grumbles and I blush, sheepishly running a hand through my hair.
“What's for lunch?” I find myself asking, Helen giving me a bright smile.
“Well, since Master Liam is gone for the next day, I figured some nice juicy burgers and French fries were needed.” Helen answers, leaning against the door frame. I watch her closely, noticing the way she stuttered on Liam’s name and came to the one conclusion that made sense – she knew that the man who just left was Dominic and not Liam, as Liam would never be caught dead with a burger. He said they were beneath him and only the poor would enjoy a vulgar meal, and Dominic did suggest to Helen that she make me some comfort food.
“Burgers and fries sound good.” I agree cheerfully, keeping my suspicion of her to myself. Liam had told me when I first moved in with him that Helen had worked for his family since he was a child. This means she knew about Dominic being his twin brother. Not only that, but what if she was in on Sheryl’s little game?
“Could we also have strawberry milkshake with lunch?” I ask, knowing that if I had asked this question a month ago, Helen would have hesitated and said Liam would not approve of it.
“Sure thing!” She agrees, pushing herself off the door frame and telling me she will be right back, a pep to her step as she heads back into the kitchen. Minutes late, she returns pushing a small cart, the smell of burgers reaching me. She quickly sets a plate in front of me, the burger held together with a skewer to keep the lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and bacon inside. The fries smelled delicious, and I couldn’t help but reach and grab one, popping it into my mouth after dipping it into the strawberry milkshake.
Since it is just Helen and me in the house, she takes the seat across from me after settling her own plate full of food and another with extra burgers on the side in case we wanted more. I smile at her, happily munching away.
“So.” Helen says, placing her glass of milkshake on the table after taking a sip.
“Who’s baby is it.” My hand pauses mid-air with a fry clutched between my fingers. I blink, unsure of how to answer, when Helen gives me a small smile.
“I know Master Liam never touched you, so it’s Master Dominic’s child, right.” It’s a statement, not a question. Dropping the fry back onto my plate, I lean back in my chair and look at the housekeeper before me.
“You knew they were switching places?” I ask instead, not bothering to hide my disdain.
“I had my suspicions at first. Even knowing those boys since they were children, even I have a hard time deciphering who is who.” She admits with a sigh as she toys with the straw in her cup.
“Master Dominic confirmed it two months into the whole fiasco, and I knew instantly that little skank Sheryl was the mastermind behind it. I always knew she was bad news, but the Sir and Madam never listened.” Helen continued, annoyance in her voice. Seeing her genuine reaction, I resume eating, mulling over her confession to knowing about Sheryl’s little game.
“Why didn’t you tell me about Liam and Dominic swapping identities?” Helen sighs at my question, a sheepish look of guilt covering her face as she looks away.
“Master Dominic asked me not to say anything. He wanted to make sure he had enough evidence against Master Liam and his whore Sheryl before telling you himself.” Instinct tells me that Helen is telling the truth, and I thank her for this, watching her head snap up and her gaze meet mine. I go on to explain how I found out about Sheryl’s little game last night, and that I went out to tell Liam I was pregnant.
My voice cracks as I get to the part about Liam that even if I did end up pregnant, I could get lost and fuck right off with the child he referred to as a bastard. Helen is beside me when tears begin to fall, wiping them away with a napkin and telling me that everything will be okay.
“Liam never loved me.” I whispered out, my forehead resting against her sturdy shoulder.
“No, but Master Dominic does. You are the only woman he has ever slept with.” Helen coos. Sitting up, I stare at the woman before me, searching her face for any sort of lie. When I notice that her gaze remains steady and her smile genuine, I look away with a heated face. If Helen can state that Dominic truly loves me, then maybe I need to think about my future with him after we leave for Toronto the day of the wedding.
“Would you be mad at me if I did something that could ruin Liam’s and Sheryl’s life?” I ask, scared to lose Helen, as this woman has been my biggest support since I moved in with Liam.
“No. Master Liam and that skank have Karma coming to them. Besides, Master Dominic asked me if I would be willing to move to Toronto with you two. I said yes.” She answers, her voice filled with conviction. She takes my hands in hers, and I turn to look at Helen, taking in her honest eyes and gentle smile. She has been the closest thing I have to a mother figure, and I couldn’t help but cry once more, happy I won’t lose her.
“Why are you crying?” Helen asks, concern furrowing her brows as she reaches for more napkins to wipe these new tears away.
“Because I won’t be losing you.” I admit with a shaky breath, getting a chuckle from Helen.
“You will never lose me, Miss Aurora. I knew you were special the day you moved in here, and I would be a fool to not follow you and Master Dominic, especially with a little one on the way.”
“How did you know I was pregnant? I thought I had the garbage bag tied tightly.” I asked, Helen letting go of my hand and returning to her spot across from me.
“Raccoons got into the garbage last night, and when I went to clean the mess, I found the box this morning. Don’t worry, I figured you weren’t ready to talk about it yet, so I kept this from Master Dominic.” Helen answers, pushing the plate of burgers towards me.
“Now eat up. You need the nutrients if you decide to keep this baby.” Relieved to know that my pregnancy is still a secret from the Knightsbridge twins, I dig into our meal and make a mental note to ask Mira about obstetricians and gynecologists in Toronto. Hopefully, someone can help me decide my options by the time I start my new life free of Liam and his influence.

Strong yet gentle lips kissing along my neck slowly bring me from my sleep. Hands were slowly roaming my body, groping me, claiming me possessively. A small moan escapes my lips when fingers pinch my nipples, sending ripples of pleasure through me.“Good morning, Aurora.” A soft, deep voice calls out. Opening my eyes, I find deep brown eyes watching me.“Dominic?” I ask, wanting to make sure that it was indeed the right twin in my bed still.“One and the same, baby.” He confirms, a smirk gracing his lips. I blink, searching for any hint that it may be a lie, but I catch sight of the chain he wore yesterday and sigh with relief.“Happy to know I am not Liam?” Dominic asks, dipping his head to nip at the sensitive skin of my neck. I moan again, my hands moving to clutch his hair as he kisses and licks along my sensitive skin. He was between my legs, his hard cock pressed against my entrance and I realize that some time between when he climbed into bed after
The bedroom door slams open, making me jump. I turn my head to see who it is that intruded on my bedroom and hold back my scoff. There, standing just a few feet away from me, is Dominic Knightsbridge. How do I know it is him when he and Liam were wearing the same suit at the club? Simple, he had the top half of his shirt undone, revealing the gold chain he wore around his neck. His deep brown eyes meet my blue ones, and a look of lust and love washes over them. Before I could move, Dominic had taken just four strides to reach my side, slamming his lips onto mine. The taste of beer assaults me as he pushes his tongue past my lips, tangling it with mine. A moan involuntarily escapes my lips while strong arms scoop me from my seat and flush against a familiar hard chest. This was definitely Dominic, as he was the only one I noticed having bees tonight.Dominic carries me to the bed, gently lying me down before crawling between my legs and hovering above me, his lips movin
Entering the mansion feeling dejected, I call out for Helen and let her know I have returned home. She greets me instantly, appearing from the kitchen door, wiping her hands on her apron.“That was, Miss Aurora.” She notes, her brows furrowed with concern.“The storm got too bad, and I figured coming home was safer than being out.” I lie smoothly, giving her the practiced smile I have used many times at Liam’s work events.“Ah, I see. Would you like something warm to drink to help chase the chill of the storm away?” Helen asks, and I instantly say yes, asking for her famous hot chocolate. Helen smiles happily, telling me to go change into some warm clothes and that the hot chocolate will be ready in a few minutes. Thanking her, I head up the stairs and into my room, deciding that I needed to call Mira as soon as I changed into some comfortable clothing. As soon as I reach my room, the first thing I do is dig the pregnancy test out of my purse and throw it and anything related to it in
The drive home in the rain was spent with me fighting back the tears threatening to spill. At times, I had to pull over to take a deep breath and stop myself from falling apart before I made it safely home. Home. This mansion I lived in was not home, but a prison, a stage created by Sheryl, Liam, and their friends for their own entertainment.I met Sheryl in college as my roommate and learned through her drunken ramblings when she thought I was asleep that she loved playing twisted pranks that ruined people’s lives. I listened in as she reminisced about a prank she pulled on her “friend” in high school. The girl was a scholarship kid like me, planning to get into a good college or university and make something of her life. From what Sheryl said, this girl fell for the silver-spoon friend Sheryl set this girl up with.Sher fell for the rich kid chasing her. For the flowers, luxury goods, and expensive dates, thinking she had met her prince charming. But she never gave up studying or he
Pulling into the parking lot of the Starsign Club, I shut off the engine and closed my eyes for a moment, taking in a deep breath and calming my nerves. The rain was beginning to pitter-patter against my windshield, reminding me about the storm coming in that Helen had warned me to be careful of. Climbing out of my car, I scurry towards the front door and flash the guard, David, a smile. He waves me on through, much to the annoyance of the waiting club goers.“Sorry guys, but she is V.I.P. and friends with the owners.” David says, and I catch him shrugging his shoulders unapologetically. Owners? Did he just say Owners? I thought only Sheryl owned the Starsign Nightclub.Confused, I make my way through the club, squeezing past the dancing crowd holding my purse to my chest. It doesn’t take long to reach the steps that lead to the V.I.P. section, and I nod to the two bouncers standing on either side, watching as shock, then pity, flicker through their gazes before allowing me to pass. I
