Chapter 20

Veronica was eating her lollipop, locking her brown eyes in front of the fifty-inch TV screen while sitting cross-legged on Karl's soft sofa chair, watching the Shadowhunters series which has hit season four (or part three B?) with deep disappointment at seeing the scene where Jace tried to reclaim Clary from Clary's brother, Jonathan Morgenstern. She growled in annoyance that she did not like Jace for interfering with Clary's plan until she did not realize that she almost bit into the lollipop so hard it made her grimace a little at it. There was a soft laugh emanating from Karl, and when she turned to the left to face Karl, the man was covering his nose with his left hand while turning his head away while Karl's right arm was still on her shoulder. The strange thing was, she did not bother at all. Even though she usually would have protested when other people touched her shoulder like that.
