"Leo, who do you want to pick?" Mom asked me gently. "You don't need to have any reservations. No matter who you choose, as long as you like her, your father and I will support you."

I nodded, but I had barely taken a step toward Kiara Doley when comments started scrolling across the overlay in my vision.

[Don't pick Kiara! She's a simp for Henry!]

[The only reason Kiara got close to you is to trick you out of your shares! She's already slept with Henry!]

In my past life, I was shocked by the omniscient comments and thought that it was a warning from God. Because of that, I publicly humiliated Kiara, then picked Sarah Carter, the illegitimate daughter of the Carter family, as my future wife.

However, less than a year into our marriage, Sarah poisoned my food with a slow-acting toxin that eventually left me crippled in bed.

Meanwhile, the fake heir to the Suther family, Henry Suther, my "younger brother", used a forged will to inherit all of the family's wealth. Then, he bedded Sarah right there before my eyes.

Taking a deep breath, I shoved down the murderous rage that clamored within me. After that, I headed straight for Kiara and extended my hand in a gentlemanly manner.

"Ms. Doley, would you be willing to be my fiancee?"

The atmosphere grew tense.

The comments flying madly across the overlay stopped briefly, as though the system had frozen.

I smiled, but it didn't reach my eyes. Nonetheless, my tone was exceedingly firm when I replied, "My instincts tell me that you're my fated love."

In the corner, Sarah went deathly pale while her body swayed like she was about to topple over.

A radiant and bold smile bloomed across Kiara's face before she placed her hand in mine.
