I stood by the doorway, my hand still on the knob, listening. I hadn’t meant to eavesdrop, it just happened. Her voice carried through the silence, low and tense. Paige’s mocking tone cut through it like a knife.

“Tell me, Jessica,” Paige said, voice filled with venom. “Does it still sting that you never got to be Luna? That even if you were, you’d still be the same weak, pathetic omega who begs for a little attention?”
