Zane’s POV

“You wouldn’t believe this!” Fred came rushing into my office, looking like a giddy child, jumping around in excitement with that fucking huge smile on his face.

Grabbing the nearby paperweight that looked like a half-moon, I threw it at him without a second thought.

“Hey! That hurt!” he squirmed after successfully pushing it away from him mid-air, but that didn’t stop him from having a red mark on his palm.

“Less talk! What are you so happy about?” I asked with a furrowed brow.

“Why are you so grumpy?” Once again, he didn’t answer my question and instead annoyingly asked another question as he slammed himself into the chair opposite me.

I merely glared at him, and he clicked his tongue before nodding his head. “You know, I don’t know why you’re so affected by what happened. It’s been three years already, didn’t you say? She’s just your toy.”
