Chapter 12

The cottage was filled with a flurry of magical energy. Even though I was born a witch, I had no problem with the subject matter. Because Calian had mentioned that their tribe no longer had any witches, the magic took me by surprise. The fact that he claimed there were no witches does not rule out the possibility of magic being practiced by those who lack the title. Whatever the case may be, it was completely out of my hands.

When I looked about at the décor, I saw that there were no furs on display, which was unlike the way they were in my hometown. Herbs of all kinds were drying from the ceiling, though. Those odors overwhelmed my nostrils. Lilac, pine, cedar, peppermint, spearmint, aloe vera, and a slew of other scents were in the air. It was nearly too much to bear, but I tried to keep my mind on what Lora had muttered... My enticing smell...

What on earth was an "arousal"? With so many various fragrances in the air
