Chapter 14

The warrior being hounded, had his hands raised in protest. He was trying to keep a distance from my father. My father had his hands on his hips, looking down at the warrior, waiting for him to move away first before he took any action against him. As we approached, I saw the anger building up in him and I knew that this time he would not hold back, even if it meant putting our tribe in danger by doing so.

"Chief, your daughter is right here. Please calm down." Calian shouted before we could reach them.

My father spun himself to face us. His face was red from fury.

"Why is she here?" He bellowed.

"Dad, I'm not a little kid anymore. Calian was helping..." Before I could finish, my dad interrupted me.

"YOU be quiet! I am speaking with the Chief of this tribe. Not you!" I could imagine the beating I would get when we got home tonight just from his tone.
