Chapter 2 new friend

Kelly left for the locker room to change into his sportswear while I left the lecture hall and walked to the basketball court. I sat opposite the cheerleading team while I waited for the match to start. Liam’s girlfriend Beauty is part of the cheerleading team, she is seated in the front row waiting for the match to start so she can cheer on her boyfriend and proudly show off to everybody that she's dating Liam.

Liam has always been the hottest and best basketball player in college, now that Kelly is also the best basketball player on the opposite team I’m nervous about which team is going to win, is it Liam or Kelly? I’m definitely going to be supporting Kelly, he's the only person who has walked up to me and asked me to be his friend in all my twenty-one years of living, after all, Liam does not act like we know each other so why would I support him? People will think I’m one of those girls throwing myself at him.

I saw Kelly and his team entering the field followed by Liam and his team too. Kelly's team wore blue sportswear while Liam’s team wore white. As soon as Kelly saw me, 

“Taylor…..!” He screamed out my name waving his hand as all eyes turned to us including Liam, I became nervous immediately but managed to wave back my hand, my heart skipped immediately as Kelly left the field and ran towards me,

Shit, what is he doing?

He sat beside me with a smiling face while I was nervous cause people’s eyes were on us, I’m not used to attention 

“Taylor please hug me so I can win,” He said with open arms

“Huh….?”

“Please the match is about to start” He pleaded, I slowly looked around and people were still watching us, I pulled closer and engulfed him in a warm hug, 

“I promise to win” He whispered into my ear, we pulled away as he ran back to the field, but then I felt a pair of burning gazes at me, and that's when I saw Liam glaring at me from the field, I looked away immediately, am I seeing things or is he actually glaring at me? What did I do to upset him or he didn't want me to be here?

The whistle went off, the match had already started, I must say this is one hell of a tough match as Liam and Kelly are both good players but it was more like they were at war with each other because they kept on bumping shoulders and playing back to back, they were not giving each other time to win.

Liam’s girlfriend kept on screaming his name, showing the whole world that they were dating but Liam wasn't responding to her, he was busy playing the match acting like he didn't hear her, maybe he didn't want to be distracted 

Kelly was winning so much that I was filled with so much happiness, I suddenly stood up and screamed…

“Go Kelly…….!” The whole audience turned to look at me, 

“I love you……!” Kelly replied, blowing kisses at me from the crowd, shocking me, and the whole place erupted with a roar. I was suddenly filled with joy, this was the first time since after my parent's death that somebody is telling me they love me. The match finally ended with Kelly’s team emerging as the winner, this is the first time someone beat Liam and his team.

Kelly left the field and started running to me. I was surprised at first but then he lifted me from my seat, swinging me around, while I giggled happily.

“I won Taylor, I made you proud,” He said happily swinging me around while I laughed so hard, I didn't know for how long both of us were laughing and giggling at each other but by the time he put me down the whole crowd was staring at us including those that we're taking pictures, I turned and saw Liam frowning in anger, 

What's wrong with him? I watched as he left the field in anger with his girlfriend chasing after him 

“Did I play well?” Kelly asked smiling brightly

“Yea….I never knew you played so well”

“Thanks for supporting me”

“You’re my friend of course I’ll support you” I smiled

“Taylor?” 

“hmmmm”

“Can I take you home?

“Huh? Home?” 

“Hmm, that's a thank you for cheering at me throughout the match” 

“Ohh okay, but you need to change first’’

“Yes I will go change in the locker room so you wait outside the locker room okay” 

“Hmm” I nodded as we both walked to the locker room, I waited outside the locker room while he went inside to go change, I sat on the long bench waiting for Kelly when I sighted Liam. coming out from the locker room with his friend, I looked away hoping they pass peacefully, but Liam stopped before me he glared at me for a few seconds and I don't dare look back, he finally left and I exhaled happily,

Kelly finally came out, I was surprised to see that he owned the same model of car as Liam, he opened the car door for me and I entered while he closed the door and entered through the driver's seat, 

“Your home address?” He asked and I typed the directions into his phone as he drove off, 

“So do you live with your parents?” 

“Nope” I shook my head

“Ohh, aunt?” 

“Actually I live with my father's best friend, I lost my parents two years ago” 

“I’m sorry for your loss,” He said with concern

“It's nothing it's two years ago and I’ve forgotten about it”

He stopped in front of the mansion and I came down from the car, but then he came down too looking around,

“Is this where you live?”

“Yes” I smile lightly

“Alright I’ll pick you up for school tomorrow”

“You will?” I asked with wide eyes and he nodded, 

“Thanks”

“See you tomorrow,” He said and pulled me closer, hugging me lightly. He pulled away with a smile and entered his car, I stood watching him as he drove home. Finally, I made a new friend, I walked into the mansion with smile but immediately I entered the mansion, I was forcefully pushed to the wall as my back slammed hard on it, 

“Ouch..” I winced in pain and looked up to see Liam’s angry face staring down at me
