Misha's POV

Donn’s wintry eyes rose to meet mine. For the first time, I saw a flicker of something that might have been sympathy. “Remove it? My dear, that’s like asking me to remove a hole from a donut. The hole is the absence. It cannot be removed, only filled.”

“Then fill it!” Damon roared, his control finally snapping.

“With what?” Donn countered, his calm unshaken. “Your power only feeds it. My power would simply legitimize its function and accelerate the process. This weapon was designed with a singular purpose: to erase beings of immense power. Beings like you, Prince Damon. Or you, Keeper Misha.”

The casual way he said it sent a fresh wave of terror through me. That shard had been meant for me. If Damon hadn't moved…

“Please, Donn,” I begged, stepping forward. “He saved my life. There has to be something.”

The Reaper was silent for a long moment, his gaze shifting between Damon’s wound and my stomach. He was the auditor of souls, the final arbiter of life and death. He was loo

  • Christmas In Hell   She Passed

Damon's POVThe path glowed, then vanished. The whispers grew louder, directed at us now, twisting Misha's words, turning them into taunts. She will fail. Her love will not be enough. She will abandon you for her children. They will be alone."Block them out," Ava commanded, her voice sharp, strained. She pressed her hand against my forehead, her demonic energy, cold and stark, momentarily overriding the insidious whispers. "Focus on Misha. Focus on her strength. Don't let them break her… or you."I closed my eyes, picturing Misha's face, her determined gaze, the fierce love that burned within her. I focused on the faint hum of her creative energy, a vibration I could sense even through the encroaching void. She was fighting. I had to fight too.The void pulsed, hungry, desperate to swallow me whole. But Misha's image, her resolve, was a stubborn barrier against its relentless hunger. I clung to it, to her, to the fragile thread of hope that she embodied.Seconds stretched into an ete

  • Christmas In Hell   The Test

Damon's POVMisha's arm immediately went around me, steadying me. "Damon, are you alright?" Her voice was laced with urgent concern."As alright as one can be while being slowly erased from existence," I managed, my voice raspy. The world blurred again, the black static intensifying. The whispers, too, seemed to grow louder, focusing on me. You are weak. You are fading. Let go. Join us. There is peace in the void."It's attacking him," Misha realized, her eyes darting frantically. "The whispers are targeting him, preying on his weakness.""We need to hurry," Ava urged, pulling something small and metallic from her satchel. It was a finely crafted compass, etched with arcane symbols, its needle spinning wildly. "This thing can usually pinpoint any kind of magical anomaly. It's useless here. The whole place is an anomaly."The whispers intensified, weaving into a tapestry of my fears. Misha will mourn you. She will move on. Your children will never know your face. You will be forgotten.

  • Christmas In Hell   Hellfire

A faint warmth. A whisper of heat, deep within my chest. It was a faint echo of the inferno it once was, but it was there. I focused on it, tried to expand it, to push back the encroaching darkness. The void in my arm pulsed violently, a surge of cold agony. My vision swam. I clenched my teeth, a low growl escaping me."It's resisting," I grated out. "It's fighting back.""It's afraid," Misha countered, her eyes gleaming. "You're pushing it. Keep pushing, Damon. Don't let it win."Ava watched, her fingers hovering over her phone. "We need to move. Now. The window for this jump-point is closing."Misha turned to her. "Ready the jump-point. I'll make sure Damon is cloaked." She pressed her hand over my chest, directly above where I felt that faint spark of hellfire. Her own divine energy, warm and vibrant, flowed into me, a gentle coaxing, a subtle reinforcement to my faltering will.A shimmer began to form around me, a faint, almost invisible distortion in the air. It was a complex wea

  • Christmas In Hell   Past the Gate

"They are… formidable. Ancient. And their numbers are vast within the Maw." Justin's voice was grim. "They sense divine energy like sharks smell blood in the water. Misha, your essence, the energy of the unborn triplets… it will be like a beacon to them. And the Echo of Creation, if it exists, would be the most powerful beacon of all.""So, we're bait," Ava concluded, a bitter edge to her voice. "Wonderful. I love being bait. Especially when the fishing involves creatures that eat time.""You will need to mask your presence," Justin advised, his tone urgent now. "There are wards, cloaking spells, and ancient angelic protections known to the archives. I'm transmitting the schematics now. They're complex, they require immense focus and power to maintain, but they are your only chance of traversing the Maw without being swarmed."Ava's phone pinged several times. She scrolled through something, her brow furrowed in concentration. "Looks like a lot of cosmic knots and prayer beads. I'll n

  • Christmas In Hell   Guardians

The chill spread, a deep-seated cold that had nothing to do with the infernal climate of Hell. My own personal winter had begun, a frost that seeped from the wound in my shoulder, coating my veins, frosting the edges of my thoughts. The world flickered. I clutched the arm of the throne, the polished obsidian biting into my palm, grounding me, if only for a moment.Ava's phone buzzed, then vibrated violently. A startled gasp, a flurry of hurried whispers, then Justin's voice, now a strained, breathless rush from the speaker."I have it! I found it! The location of the nexus point to the Maw. It's… It's a celestial anomaly, a tear in the fabric of the universe itself, not far from the remnants of the Aetheria galaxy. Hidden in a dead star's orbit." Justin's voice cracked, as if the words themselves were heavy, unwieldy. "It's called the Whispering Gate."Misha leaned closer to the phone, her hand finding mine again, a desperate anchor in the growing void. "The Whispering Gate? Why that

  • Christmas In Hell   The Maw

Justin sighed, a sound of heavy resignation. "The Maw isn't a destination you just fly to, Ava. It's a dimension unto itself, a pocket of anti-reality. The only way in is through an ancient celestial nexus point, and those are usually guarded by… well, by things that don't like visitors. Especially not a Prince of Hell, a nascent Fate, and an angry half-demon.""Wonderful," Ava drawled, rolling her eyes. "Just when I thought this couldn't get more complicated. So, how do we find this nexus point, and how do we get past its disgruntled caretakers?""There are records," Justin said, his voice now sounding more determined. "In the higher archives. I can access them. But it will take time. And a significant amount of… distraction. They don't just hand out keys to the apocalypse.""You have seventy-two hours, Justin," I managed, the words a struggle. The darkness around the wound intensified, pulling at the air, at my awareness. It felt like I was being stretched thin, like an old photogra
