CHAPTER 10

Lara lifted her gaze at him. How did he know? She didn't want to talk about her life. It didn't matter if they had saved her once. She was going to try and forget George.

"My reasons are of no concern to you."

"They are my concerns because we saved you and you are staying in my palace. I need to know in case of an emergency," Cage insisted, knowing she wouldn't want to talk about it. She was in a complicated situation.

"I'm grateful you saved my life," she glanced at Brad. "But I don't want to talk about my life to strangers. If you believe that I might cause problems for you, then I'll gladly leave with my daughter."

"And where will you be going to?" He cocked an eyebrow. Cage knew she had nowhere to go. Her expression told him everything. She was very easy to read.

"That's none of your business," she answered and he growled. Lara whimpered, scared.

Brad had had enough. "The both of you should calm down. We can talk about this calmly. And Lara, you're not going anywhere."
