29. The summon

Giovanni tucked his suit perfectly as he was accompanied by some armed men from the airport to the godfather's building. He got into the car provided by the godfather before the driver drove off to the godfather's mansion.

They arrived at the mansion fifteen minutes later. The driver drove past the heavily secured gate before parking at one corner in the big parking lot. The mansion was a large building built with 19th century architecture. There were many water fountains at different sides of the mansion. Different flowers lined the path from the parking lot to the foyer.

Different armed men stood at different sections of the premises when their guns hung on their necks. Giovanni's eyes fed on the different areas of the mansion as he walked to the door, accompanied by two soldiers. This was his first visit here and he could tell that it was four times larger than his mansions back at Palermo.

“This way” the guard's robotic voice guided him as they took the right side of the building
