34. The past

Seventeen years ago.

Matteo Verrilli sat engrossed on his chair, engrossed in his work. There was a pile of documents cleanly stacked on one side of the table while he laptop lay open in front of him. He punched the keyboard gently, staring at the results displayed on the screen.

Matteo Verrilli was a handsome and perfectly built thirty seven year old man with a dirty brown hair and perfect hairline. He had a sharpened jawline and thick black beards that added to his masculine beauty. Born as the only child to his father, he took over the leadership of the family's business after getting married at twenty five.

A knock sounded on the door of his office and he raised his head from his table to stare at the door. The knock came a second time and he shouted for the guest to come in. Few seconds later, the door was pushed open by one of his guards, accompanied by two strange men. The guard walked in and bowed towards Matteo.

“They asked to see you. They said you have been expecting them.”
