Dahlia's POV.

"Happy birthday, big bro." I hugged him tightly before disengaging to present him with a wrapped box. "Here is your present."

"Thank you, Lia." He leaned in to peck me on the cheeks and I smiled, my cheeks flushing as my eyes came in contact with those familiar green ones.

It was Nathan Greece. My brother's best friend and my crush for the past 5 years or more. He winked at me as he slipped a hairband into his curly, black hair.

I immediately looked away and went to look for my mum and Dad. They both said they had something important to share with me. I wonder what it could be.

I looked around for them, but it was like they had disappeared from this party. I saw them earlier when I walked in with Lily, my best friend so where were they now?

"I am coming. I need to use the restroom." Lily whispered and I nodded, giving her directions. I went to sit on the couch, the loud music blaring crazily when my phone pinged.

I looked down to see it wasn't my phone but Lily's that was in my hand. I narrowed my eyes in confusion.

'How come?' I pondered and was about to get up to go to the restroom to give her when a notification came in and it caught my attention.

"I can't wait to eat you up again." I read out loud and grimaced. The number was saved with Baby but I recognized the digits.

It belonged to my boyfriend, Jeremy or was I overthinking it?

A nagging feeling brewed in me, so I decided to find out and confront Lily, but when I stepped into the restroom, I was greeted with moans and familiar groans.

My heart skipped a beat as I paused in my steps, and shut my eyes tightly.

'God please.' I prayed within as I walked closer. "Don't let it be as I feared."

"We should stop, Jer, She is waiting for me." Lily moaned as Jeremy buried his head in her neck, her hand caressing his hair.

"Shush! It's you I want now." He kissed her on the lips, and I felt my heart tighten in pain, so I cried out, dropping the phone in my hand to the floor.

Startled by the noise, they both tore apart from one another. Lily's eyes widened as she hurriedly tried to adjust her dress while Jeremy panicked.

"B-babe, it's not what you t-think." He tried moving close to me but I took a step backwards, raising my hand.

"What is going on here?" I asked trying to calm myself, trying to hold back the tears because it felt like I had been punched in the guts.

'How could my best friend and boyfriend do this to me?' I pondered, trying not to tremble.

"She came after me and I am a man, so..." Jeremy tried lying when Lily grabbed the roll of tissue and hurled it at him.

"You bastard." She yelled, and I folded my hands across my chest, watching as Jeremy glared at her.

"What? I didn't lie. You came after me on her birthday, last year, remember?" Jeremy snarled and Lily went pale while all colors drained out of my face.

Wait! What?

"Unbelievable. You both have been going around behind my back, for more than a year?" I cried out in disbelief and Lily began to rub her hair nervously while Jeremy tried touching me.

Before I could stop myself, I slapped him across the face, removed the stupid promise ring he gave, and threw it at him.

His jaw dropped as he rubbed his cheeks.

"Stay away from me, both of you," I warned, trying hard to blink back the tears that wanted to fall as I ran out of the restroom.

I drifted back to the party and began dancing to loosen my mind but it wasn't working. All I could see was Jeremy touching Lily so I made my way over to the bar.

"Four shots. Vodka." I told the bartender who arched his eyebrows at me.

"Are you sure?" He asked and I nodded positively, giving him my card to make whatever transactions as I began drinking.

I was in my fourth glass when I felt a warm hand on my shoulder. I shivered and turned to see that it was Nathan looking at me worriedly as he sat next to me.

"Are you alright?" He questioned but I ignored him and was about to take the last shot I just ordered when he snatched it from my hand and threw it down his throat instead.

I found myself glaring at him, pissed, but all he did was wink at me.

"What?" He mouthed and I just shrugged, deciding to ignore him again as I ordered another shot.

"Aren't you taking too much?" Nathan tried snatching the drink once again but I slapped his hand off.

"Mind your business." I poured the drink into my throat, allowing it to burn down towards my heart, to extinguish the pain I was feeling.

Nathan didn't bother stopping me when I tried to order another one, but then a few minutes in, my vision grew blurry and everything seemed double to me.

My head ached and I let out a groan, wanting to stand up, but rather I tripped and was about to fall forward when Nathan hurriedly got up and caught me in his arms.

"Easy there, kitten." He cajoled and I found myself purring as I gripped his jacket tightly, looking into those beautiful green eyes that always sent butterflies through my stomach.

He wrapped his hand around my waist and drew me closer, so close that our noses were touching and I could stare at his pink lips. My nipples arched, prodding against my dress.

I couldn't look away. He was absolutely gorgeous so when he leaned in to kiss me, I wrapped my hands around his neck and deepened it.

"Lia, what do you think you are doing with Nathan?" I heard a familiar voice that sent shivers down my spine and cursed within.

How could I have been so careless?
