Maya's POV

I froze, my drunken state of mind became clear instantly.

Then screams soared through the parlour, and the crowd scattered in different directions, knocking down chairs and glasses on their way out.

I dropped to the floor instinctively, my hands jerking to cover my head.

Who could bring a gun to my birthday party.

"Maya," a male voice called, it was Regan, I recognized his voice.

I raised my head, my face contorted in anger.

"It was you, wasn't it?" I asked, "You brought a gun to my birthday party."

"I'm sorry, I didn't think it would disrupt the party," he pleaded, "It was a blank gunshot, no one was hurt."

My eyes darted to the gun he was holding.

"See, check for yourself," he said as he handed the gun to me."

"Get the fuck out of my house," I yelled, "I never invited you to my birthday," I yanked my hand away from his.

He chuckled, "You can't kick me out," he blurted out, "Your mom knows me."

"You heard her," a voice cut in from behind.

It was the dude I had danced with.
