Chapter 78

Kieran's POV

“A witch, really!" My mom yelled, pushing her way into my office despite Allie's insistence against it.

I raised my head to look at her without an expression on my face. I love how she thinks she could come into my office like it was her room. Since the meeting with the elders which didn't go the way she wanted to, I haven't seen her…until now that is.

“Excuse us." I ordered.

Ryder looked at me for a few seconds before bowing and leaving the room. My sister wore a worried look but I mind-linked her, assuring her that it was okay and she didn't have anything to worry about.

Kaia, who was laying in my arms also stood up, but my hand around her tightened and I didn't miss the confused look that appeared on her face.

“Why is she still here?" My mom asked.

“Because she is my mate and Luna, and you will treat her as such." I replied, my voice coming out low and harsh.

Sitting upright, I pushed myself up and went towards my desk, pulling on

Chapter 156 Kaia's POV I was convinced the moon goddess was bored, but the smile on Allie's face was so worth it. She was glowing and everyone could see it. A proud look was permanently etched on his face even though he was about to have his head handed to him by my scowling mate. The past few days have been so stressful but it was impossible not to notice the absence of both of them. Besides, I already suspected that that was the case after hearing her explanation of why she was scared to know who her second chance mate was. There was probably more to it, but at this point, nothing could surprise me anymore. “Now that it is in the open, you want to tell me why you broke her heart?” Kieran asked, crossing his arms in front of him and glaring at Ryder, whose face looked like he'd seen a ghost. The smile on Allie's face disappeared almost at once too. The rest of us in the room watched as the scene unfold, I mean, it would've been abnormal if he hadn't noticed that.

Chapter 155 Ryder's POV I've thought about it and no matter how many times I did, it didn't make sense. Everything went well in the Pack, yet it didn't feel that way. It felt like I'd done something I wasn't supposed to but yet, I can't remember it. At first, I concluded it was because I hadn't returned to her room, but the report and filling Kieran in with everything took time. I was a few minutes away from losing my mind and it was making me pay less attention to the things going on in the Pack even though it was a crucial moment for us, with everything Kieran was planning. “Are the warriors ready?" I heard Kieran ask. “She's avoiding me, I'm not sure why." I replied, and as soon as the words left my lips, I groaned internally as three heads jerked towards my direction, all of them wearing a smirk. “It's not what you guys think." I told them. Dylan snorted, “yea sure." Ignoring Dylan, I gave him a run down of how the training was going and how in a few days, we

Chapter 154 Allie's POV I woke up with a start, sunlight penetrating my eyes from the curtain I left open before going to bed. I had been too tired to even think about closing them. The full moon has long ended at this point and I knew I'd have to explain to the girls sooner or later why I was absent last night. “I can't believe I slept for this long.” I thought, groaning as I stretched my body. The space beside me was cold which meant Ryder hadn't come in at all and I frowned. “Did he go back to his place?” I thought. Not waiting to come up with reasons why he would return to his place instead of coming here as usual, I pushed myself up from the bed. I would get an answer from him instead. So I went to the bathroom to take a shower. But the moment I stepped out of the shower, a weird smell hit my nostrils causing me to pause. It was a feeling I was familiar with and the last time I experienced it, it didn't end well. I felt dread beginning to rise within me as it hit me

Chapter 153Kaia's POV “She's my stepsister." I heard Caleb say. Loud gasps filled the room once the words left Caleb's lips. I didn't know what I was expecting when Kieran demanded an explanation for why Caleb hugged me…but definitely wasn't expecting that. The hug suddenly became the least of the problems. “What are you talking about? How's that possible?" I asked, looking at Kieran and the unbelief etched on his face was similar to the one I was wearing. “We have the same mother." He replied and I heard Kieran murmured something along the lines of, “you've got to be fucking kidding me." Before now…I mean even now, Caleb was the one person I knew next to nothing about because apart from Pack related conversation and when we were with everyone, we rarely spoke. There was nothing to talk about and it wasn't a problem. Him being nice to me and smiling when I was in the same room was already an improvement from the person I knew when I first found myself in the Pack. And n

Chapter 152 Caleb's POV My mind was a mess, with every passing moment, the uneasiness I was feeling didn't become any better even after leaving Kieran's office. And the reason for that is something I was still trying to figure out. The only thing I knew was that it started at the mention of a name, one that sounded way too familiar but at the same time, I couldn't place where I heard it before. “What's going on? I know you slept well last night, why do you look like you didn't get a wink of sleep?” Dani asked, coming to meet me. “Are you okay?” She asked, a hint of worry in her voice. I shook my head, “I’m okay.” I assured her, she already had enough on her plate to worry about than for me to add to it when I didn't even know the reason I was feeling this way. She raised her eyebrows, not buying a word I said. “Do you want to try that again?” “I don't know either, I just…” I paused. “I can't place my finger on it.” She stared at me, her hand caressing the side of m

Chapter 151 Kaia's POV For the umpteenth time today, I took another deep breath, causing both Kieran and Dylan to turn their heads to look at me. I had long zoned out of their conversation even though they were vital in our next plan. It was decided that we were going to see my mom and I couldn't be more excited but Kieran was thinking there was more to it than meets the eyes. “What's wrong, Bella?" He asked me, the worry in his voice evident. I shook my head, “nothing." I replied and he raised his brows, obviously not buying it. “I'm just thinking about Ryder…if he's going to find anything.” He nodded, "he's definitely going to. He isn't going to return without it, I trust him.” He finished and it was exactly what I wanted to hear. At least, I would have something that belongs to my Dad. Seeing that I was okay, he turned to continue his conversation, his hand still rubbing mine reassuringly. And this time, I paid attention. “I don't think Nora is lying…I'm not

Chapter 150 Allie's POV There was a permanent grin on my face, not even the scumbag of Kaia's adopted father could ruin it. How one person could be that shameless was beyond me. It was barely over a week since Katherine had been with us and instead of being worried, he was already finding ways to replace her. He was worse than a pig which sleeps around. I decided to take a look around the Pack where Kaia grew up in even though she didn't have the best time. “The Pack looks cursed." Rhea mocked. “I wouldn't be surprised if it is. The moon goddess does like playing games." Pack members who were outside had their eyes on me, as they murmured to each other, asking who I was and what I was looking for but nobody spoke up. I stopped in my tracks when I realized I didn't tell Ryder anything and I didn't put it past him to be panicking if he didn't find me once he was done. So I decided to go back before I was tempted to treat all of them a lesson for being idiots. “We

Chapter 149 Ryder's POV With the new information on ground, Kieran wanted to catch two birds with one stone. So all hands were on deck to make sure that this plan was a success. But he had a separate mission for me. Nora had mentioned that after Luna Kaia was born, a locket was worn around her neck so that when she grew up, she would have an idea about her identity but obviously, she didn't see it which means it was still somewhere in her former Pack and her Dad…adopted father would have an idea about it. We knew almost everything about her identity, but it was the last and probably the only thing Luna Kaia received from her biological father, so I was going to get it back and probably put some sense into him. “How many days are you going to spend there?" Allie asked, pouting as she watched me get ready to leave. “I should be back at the latest tomorrow…I don't think I'm going to survive more than a day without you.” She grinned widely, "how about I come along? It'

Chapter 148 Dylan's POV I was in shock as I continued staring at the girl…Nora. The way she put herself in front of me was making my wolf go crazy. My mind was no longer on what was being discussed in the room, all I wanted was to talk to her…alone, to confirm I wasn't imagining things. “Keep your eyes on her," Alpha Kieran commanded, bringing me back to the present. “I need to talk to Ryder about something." Nodding slightly, I led her out of the office and immediately we were out, she hastened her footsteps, trying to get away, but I was fast, grabbing her arms and the sparks which I had thought was a fragment of my imagination earlier, shot through me again. I could tell she felt it too. “What was that?" She feigned a confused look, “what was what?" She asked, snatching her arm out of my hand. I let out a frustrated sigh, my wolf wanted to take control but that would be a mistake on my part. He was far from being patient and the girl in front of me needed a whole
