Chapter 185

Kaia's POV

“What did you do?” She growled, glaring at me.

I shrugged, stepping out from behind Kieran, a smile on my face as I watched her own smile vanish. Lylah removed the shield from the room to avoid healing her. We had taken a risk and we were not going to make that mistake of healing her…we already did once.

She began murmuring words underneath her breath, but it only worsened it, as her eyes turned red and she coughed up blood.

“Doesn't feel too good being on the receiving end, does it?” I asked, looking at her, as she grew even more desperate to produce a counter spell, but it wasn't working.

The entire room had gone silent as they watched the scene unfold in front of them. And a wave of relief washed over me, knowing that if things had gone wrong, I would be in her position.
