KAZIMIR

The scent of wolfsbane and gun oil clung to the air as I strode through the weapons room. My brothers moved like extensions of my own will, Lev filling syringes with lethal precision, Nikolai loading silver rounds with that fucking grin of his, Dimitri already melting into the shadows without needing orders.

"Perimeter?" I snapped.

Lev didn't look up from his vials. "Sealed. For now."

Nikolai spun his pistol. "Let them come. I'm bored anyways. It's been a while since we got some action."

I grabbed his shoulder, fingers digging in hard enough to bruise. "This isn't a game. If Malhorn manages to get past us..."

"He won't." Dimitri's voice slithered from the darkness near the windows. "But she's the weak link. You have to make sure she doesn't cause any trouble."

My wolf snarled at the implication. I stormed upstairs, taking them two at a time.

The bedroom door creaked open to reveal Ariel backed against the far wall, her hands curled into fists as she stared outside the window. Moonlight caught the defiant set of her jaw, the wild flare of her nostrils.

"Stay here," I ordered. "Don't make a sound."

Her laugh was sharp as broken glass. "Or what? You'll kill me yourself?"

I crossed the room in three strides, caging her against the wall. Her scent, vanilla with a slight hint of lavender, flooded my senses. "If they get to you first," I growled against her ear, "you'll beg me to kill you."

Her pulse jumped beneath my lips. "Worry about yourself. I think they're already here."

A crash shattered the moment. The front gates groaned under the assault.

I was at the window in an instant. "They're here."

Ariel's breath hitched. She walked back to the bed as if nothing had happened and sat on it.

"The fun has just started!" Nikolai called from the doorway, his knives glinting.

I shoved past him. "Keep her alive. That's your job."

The first wave hit like a storm. Malhorn wolves poured through the shattered gates, their snarls drowning out the gunfire. I put a bullet between the eyes of the first one to breach the courtyard.

"Left flank!" Lev shouted, driving a syringe into a wolf's neck. The beast collapsed, foaming at the mouth.

Nikolai fought like a demon, his blades painting crimson arcs through the night. Until two massive enforcers pinned him against the fountain.

I lunged, ripping out one's throat with my teeth just as...

A flash of movement upstairs. Ariel. I turned to look.

The little fool was using the distraction to climb out of her window.

I lost precious seconds watching her drop onto the balcony, her movements too graceful for some stripper. Who the hell was she? Who trained her?

A snarl to my right. I barely dodged the claws aiming for my jugular.

"Eyes open, Kaz!" Nikolai laughed, blood dripping from his lip ring.

I dispatched the attacker with a silver round to the heart and charged after Ariel.

She'd gotten hold of a knife. Of course, she had.

When a Malhorn wolf lunged for her, she pivoted like a seasoned killer, the blade flashing toward his artery. I got there first, snapping the bastard's neck with a wet crack.

"Reckless little..." I hauled her behind a crumbling pillar, my hand clamping over her mouth. "Do you want to die?"

Her teeth sank into my palm. "Get away from me!!!"

The scent of her fear, sharp and sweet, made my cock twitch. Fuck.

Dimitri materialised beside us, dragging a half dead werewolf. "Answers."

The interrogation didn't take long.

"What does your boss want?" I asked him.

"We had intel that a woman he's been looking for for the past few months was here. We had no idea it was your territory, Mr Rossi." The prisoner trembled.

I listened to his heartbeat. He spoke true. If he had known it was my territory or if they had done proper research beforehand, they wouldn't have had the galls to step into my land like that guns blazing.

"And why are you looking for her?"

The prisoner looked at Ariel and then at me.

"She has something he needs. Our boss has been chasing her for the past few months now."

"And what does he want? Her blood?! When did your boss become a bloodsucking vamp?!" Nikolai asked, and the prisoner shook his head.

"Our boss didn't send us for her blood," the prisoner gasped. "He wants her womb."

Nikolai's knife stilled at the man's throat. "Come again?"

"Blood Moon Brides birth unstoppable heirs," Lev murmured, adjusting his glasses. "Her value just tripled."

My vision went red. The thought of anyone....

Ariel's whimper cut through the rage. Nikolai had her wrist in a vice grip, his thumb stroking her racing pulse.

"Who trained you, little wolf? The way you moved..." he purred.

She kicked at him. "Fuck you."

Lev caught her other arm, his clinical gaze dissecting her reactions. "Military training? What do you think Kaz?"

I ripped her away from them. "Enough."

Ariel trembled in my hold, her breath coming in sharp pants. Moonlight gilded the sweat slick column of her throat. My teeth ached to claim it.

"Let me go," she whispered. "I don't want to be here, please just let me go!"

"You don't even want me!" She screamed at me.

Dimitri stepped from the shadows, blood dripping from his gloves. "That's where you're wrong."

Nikolai licked his lips. "Oh, we want you. Just not the way you think."

Lev's fingers twitched toward his scalpel. "The mating mark would deter other packs for the moment. It'll save you all the hassle."

Ariel's eyes widened. "You wouldn't dare."

I fisted her hair, tilting her head back. "Watch me."

The first howl of the next attack cut through the night. Closer this time.

Dimitri met my gaze. "They're not stopping."

I dragged Ariel against my chest, my mouth hovering over her mating gland. "Then we make sure they know exactly what she is."

"Mine."

KAZIMIRAriel’s words echoed in my head, laced with a panic I’d never heard from her before. She’s very good at hiding. The pack’s search was futile, since I was the only one who knew her scent and knew the estate like the back of my hands, I decided it was best I looked for her myself.I ignored everyone, closing my eyes for a fraction of a second, and inhaled deeply. I filtered out the stench of suspicion, the musk of my wolves, the lingering aroma of the feast. There. Faint, but unmistakable. A trail of salt tears and sheer terror. It led away from the crowd, towards the older, quieter part of the estate. As I followed it, my brother Dimitri’s voice, calm and relentless, surfaced in my mind from our conversation just hours before.“Announcing her as your mate now would be a mistake, Kaz,” he’d said, leaning against the doorframe of my study. “There are too many unanswered questions.”“You agreed to me introducing her to the pack. Now you say this?"“Only because I didn't want the p

  • Claimed By The Wolf Kings   A little ghost

ARIELThe silence in the room was a physical weight. I stood by the window, watching rain streak the glass, tracing paths as tangled as my thoughts. Behind me, Evie sat on the bed, swinging her little legs, humming quietly.“Mommy?” she asked, her voice small in the heavy quiet. “Is Uncle Nik mad at me?”I flinched. “Don’t call him that, Evie.”“Why not?”“Because he’s not your uncle.” The words came out sharper than I intended. I turned, forcing a softer tone. “We’re… guests here. It’s not polite to give people nicknames.”Her lower lip trembled. “But Kazi said it was okay.”“Kazimir,” I corrected, the name feeling like ash on my tongue. “And it’s not. From now on, you stay with me. No more card games. No more running off any of them.”Her face crumpled in confusion. “But I like them.”“I know you do, sweetheart.” I crossed the room and knelt before her, taking her small hands in mine. They were so trusting. “But things are complicated. These people… they aren’t our friends. We can’t

  • Claimed By The Wolf Kings   Uncles

ARIEL I woke up with my face buried in a pillow, my head throbbing like I'd been hit by a truck. The memories of last night came rushing back, Kazimir's hands on me, his mouth against my skin, the way my body had betrayed me, responding to him like some desperate, starved thing. Gods, kill me now. I groaned, rolling over, and nearly choked on relief when I realized the bed beside me was empty. No Kazimir. No awkward morning after conversation. Just cold sheets and blessed silence. Good. Maybe I can pretend it never happened. I dressed quickly, eager to put as much distance between myself and that memory as possible. But the moment I stepped into the hallway, my stomach dropped. Evie wasn't in my room. My pulse spiked. I checked the bathroom, the little play area the maids had set up for her, nothing. Then, laughter. Soft, bright, coming from the adjoining room. I followed the sound, stopping in the doorway. Nikolai sat cross-legged on the floor, a deck of cards spread between

KAZIMIRAriel's skin burned beneath my palms. She writhed against me in the dim light of the bedroom, her breath coming in ragged gasps, her fingers tangled in my shirt. The scent of her heat filled the room, thick enough to choke on. I had just arrived and I was already preoccupied with her, I had come as fast as I could, but clearly not fast enough as I saw her and Dimitri cuddled up together in bed. His messy hair and her swollen red lips told me all I needed to know. I knew it wasn't his fault and it was the heat but I was still angry all the same. "Kazimir..." Her voice broke as another wave hit, her back arch arching off the bed.I caught her wrists, pinning them above her head. "Easy."She whimpered, her hips bucking against mine. The thin fabric of her nightgown did nothing to hide the heat radiating from her, the dampness between her thighs. I could feel everything. It was as if every emotion I'd ever felt was heightened. She rubbed herself on me, shamelessly. It took ev

ARIEL The housekeeper, a stern-faced woman named Irina, laid out the new clothes on the bed with military precision. Silk blouses, tailored trousers, dresses that probably cost more than my entire life savings. Evie's eyes went wide as saucers as she touched a cashmere sweater. "This is softer than Mr. Fluffles," she whispered, pressing it to her cheek. I forced a smile. "Try it on, little fox. It should be your size." Irina gave a curt nod. "Mr. Rossi requested you both be properly attired. There are shoes as well. And coats. And the closets are filled with even more clothes." I bit back a sarcastic remark. As if designer clothes would make us forget we were prisoners in a gilded cage. "Thank you. They're very pretty." I murmured as I picked one of the dresses and examined it.How did they even know my size?! And how did they get so many clothes in such a short period of time?Evie was already mesmerized, trying out the soft pink cashmere sweater. Dimitri appeared in the door

  • Claimed By The Wolf Kings   Cavata

KAZIMIR The jet's engines whined as we descended through thick clouds. Below, the Cavata skyline glittered like broken glass, cold, sharp, beautiful. My city. My empire. I flexed my hand, I had hit a little too hard and went a little crazy on the hostage we caught. Malhorn’s man had lasted seventeen minutes before giving up Malhorn's location. Not nearly long enough to satisfy me, but it worked. Even though I had a lot of things on my plate, I knew there was one thing topping the list. Pepe handed me a tablet. "The Italians confirmed the meeting. Although they were very hesitant to. They're nervous about the Zilman alliance." I scrolled through the reports, each one a fresh insult. "Tell them if they want Rossi protection, they'll wait like good dogs. I have other things on my plate than to worry about their stupid land disputes.” The car was waiting when we landed. Black armor, tinted windows, the smell of tobacco and leather. Familiar. Comforting. My phone buzzed as we mer
