Flora

I wiped sweat from my face and leaned on my knees. The training was tough today. My body ached, but I didn’t want to stop. Kiran said training would make me feel strong again. She was right.

But then… something changed in the air.

Everything got quiet.

People stopped talking. Even the wind felt still. It was as if they knew not to move when that presence is felt

I lifted my head and looked around. That’s when I saw him.

He walked in like he owned the world, maybe he did. His black shirt hugged his chest tight, and his steps were slow and firm. His eyes, deep blue like a night sky, scanned the field until… they landed on me.

And just like that, I forgot how to breathe, I forgot how to act and just stood there like a… like a spell had been casted upon me to stay still

I had seen him before, yes. But today was different. Today I really looked at him.

His face was like something from a dream. Sharp jaw. Strong nose. His lips… full and serious. His hair was short and a little messy, like he just ran his fingers through it.

Kiran nudged me and whispered, “Stop staring, Flora. You look like you’re about to faint.”

I turned quickly and looked down. My cheeks were burning tomato red

Why was my heart beating so fast?

He was just a man… right?

Wrong. He wasn’t just a man. He was Alpha Leo. The Alpha of this pack. My savior. My mystery. The man I kissed and possibly did more with two weeks ago. The man I couldn’t get out of my mind.

I tried to act normal. I talked to Kiran and drank water like I didn’t just feel his eyes on me the whole time.

But then it happened.

His voice, deep and calm, rang through the field.

“Flora Carter. To my office.”

I froze.

Kiran raised her eyebrows. “Ouuu! What did you do?”

“I don’t know!” I whispered, my hands suddenly sweating.

“Go,” Kiran said. “And don’t die.”

I walked to his office slowly. My legs felt heavy. My heart was loud. Did I mess up something? Why did he call me?

When I got to his door, I knocked once.

“Come in,” his voice said.

I stepped inside.

He was behind the big wooden desk, looking at some papers. He didn’t even look up. His strong jaw moved a little as if he was grinding his teeth.

I stood there for a few seconds, waiting. When he didn’t say anything, I cleared my throat.

“You called me,” I said, trying to sound calm. “What’s going on?”

He lifted his head and finally looked at me. Those eyes again. I felt them deep in my stomach.

“Sit down,” he said. “I want to talk to you.”

I slowly sat on the chair across from him. I folded my hands on my lap and looked down.

Actually, I also wanted to talk to him.

“I would like to talk to you too,” I said, lifting my eyes to meet his.

He looked surprised. His lips twitched a little, almost like a smile.

“Is that so?” he asked.

I nodded. “Yes. I’ve been meaning to ask… why are you so interested in me?”

He said nothing. Just leaned back in his chair, watching me like I was a puzzle.

“I mean, you helped me. You gave me shelter. You… were there that night. And now you called me to your office. For what? Did I do something wrong?”

He still didn’t speak.

I frowned. “Look, I’m not playing games. I’ve had enough lies in my life. Enough secrets. So if you know me, or if there’s something I should know… tell me now.”

He chuckled softly. “You don’t like games?”

“No, I don’t,” I said.

He leaned forward slightly. His eyes never left mine.

“Then enjoy the thrill,” he said, voice low and teasing.

I blinked. “What?”

He said nothing more.

I stood up, annoyed. “Fine. If you don’t want to talk, I’m leaving.”

I turned to go.

“Flora,” he said softly.

I stopped. I didn’t turn back.

Then I heard the chair move. A moment later, I felt his hand on my wrist. Gently, he pulled me back.

I turned slowly.

He was so close.

He raised his hand and tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear. His fingers brushed my cheek. I shivered.

His touch was warm. His fingers moved slowly, gently, almost as if he was memorizing the shape of my face. His thumb lightly grazed my jaw, and I couldn’t stop the way my breath hitched.

“You’re so… beautiful,” he whispered.

My breath caught.

His eyes were on my lips.

And mine were on his.

I could feel his breath now, warm and steady, and it made my skin tingle. My chest rose and fell faster. His other hand hovered near my waist, not touching, just close. So close, too close and the funny thing? I didn’t mind

His presence felt like fire —no not burning, but melting.

He leaned in, just a little. His lips brushed mine—but just barely. A tease. A whisper of a kiss. The softest contact, like a feather. But even that small touch sent a sharp jolt through my whole body.

His lips didn’t press, just lingered, warm and light, tempting. My eyes fluttered shut. My body leaned in on its own. I wanted more. I needed more. My hands curled into fists at my sides, fighting the urge to reach out and pull him closer.

But then… he pulled back.

I blinked, dazed and confused.

“You’ll remember me soon,” he said softly. “And when you do… I hope you’ll still want me.”

I opened my eyes.

“What are you talking about?” I asked, confused.

He just smiled a little and stepped back.

“You may go now.”

I stared at him, mouth slightly open.

“But…”

“Go, Flora,” he said again, softer this time.

I turned and walked out of his office, heart pounding, lips tingling, and head full of questions.

What the hell is going on?

First Person’s Perspective FloraThe nights felt longer after the truth came out. I could barely sleep. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Bailey’s face and Lukas’s face side by side, and my chest ached with questions. Lukas and I kept close. We ate together, sat together, even when we had nothing to say. It was like we were afraid that if we let go of each other, another truth would come and tear us apart again. But Kiran wasn’t like us. She didn’t sit still. She was restless, her eyes sharp, her voice always pushing. “We cannot stop here,” she said. “There are more answers. We must find them. The truth doesn’t hide from those who seek.”So one cold evening, we followed her into the forest. The woods were darker than usual. The moon hung high but seemed weak behind thin clouds. The trees bent over us, their branches black against the pale light. Every sound made me shiver, the crunch of leaves under our boots, the snap of twigs, the hoot of an owl somewhere far away. Lukas walked bes

  • Claimed by my Ex-husband's friend    Chapter 153

Flora’s Perspective The truth broke me. For years I had looked at Bailey and seen my sister. My other half. The one who had always been bad and harsh to me. I thought we shared the same blood, the same beginning. But all along, that bond had been built on lies. She wasn’t mine. And I wasn’t hers. It was like someone had pulled the ground out from beneath me, leaving me falling, with no place to land. I sat in the basement where we kept the records, staring at the candle flame until my eyes blurred. The light danced and shook, just like my heart. My hands would not stay still. They shook against my knees. The nurse’s words would not leave my head. Switched. Bought. Threatened. Alpha Valen’s father. Each word pressed into me like a knife. I tried to picture the night it happened. Bailey crying in one corner, Lukas crying in another. A stranger’s hand carrying them apart. One sent to comfort, the other to hardship. One to live as a Pembroke, the other to live in the shadows of a

Flora’s PerspectiveThe nights grew heavier.Every time we moved, it was with caution, like shadows slipping between walls. I felt as though the whole world was watching us, even when the streets were empty. Every sound was louder in the dark,a dog’s bark, a shutter creaking, the crunch of gravel under our boots. My heart would leap at each noise, and I found myself gripping my cloak tighter and tighter. We couldn’t stop. The answers were close. I could feel them pressing against us like a door ready to burst open.Leo walked ahead, silent but tense, his hand never far from the dagger at his side. Lukas stayed close behind me, his hood covering his face, his body stiff with nerves. I stayed in the middle, my eyes darting left and right, searching every shadow for danger. Each night we risked being caught, but each night we uncovered another piece of the puzzle. On the fourth night, Leo led us to the edge of town. The streets there were narrow and crooked, the kind of place where secret

Flora’s PerspectiveThe night was our shield. We moved quietly, like ghosts in the dark. Our steps were soft against the cobbled streets, our breaths shallow, our bodies tense. Every shadow felt alive. Every creak of wood or rustle of leaves made me fear we had been seen. The town slept, but I knew danger never truly slept. There were always eyes. Always ears.Leo walked ahead, his shoulders stiff, ready to fight at the first sign of trouble. Lukas stayed close behind me, his hood low, his hand brushing the edge of his dagger. I kept my cloak tight, my heart hammering like a drum.We could not let anyone know what we were looking for. Not yet. This matter had nothing to do with Valen. It was not one of his schemes. It was older. Buried deeper. Hidden by people who had power long before Valen’s name meant anything. That made it even more dangerous. Our first stop was the town hall. The place where every life was supposed to be written in thick ledgers , births, marriages, deaths. If th

Flora I could not sleep. The hospital basement was too quiet. The air felt thick and heavy, like a room that had kept too many secrets for too long. Every sound was loud in that hush , the hum of the lamp, the distant beeps from upstairs, the soft shifting of a blanket. But none of those sounds could calm the storm inside me.Lukas is my brother. The words kept running through my head until they had no shape. They were sharp and bright and wrong. I put my palms to my face as if I could press the thought back inside my skull. It slipped out again and again.Leo is the true heir.He told me his story tonight, and I could still see his face when he spoke , tired, proud, broken and steady all at once. I saw his hands as he panted the memory, the way his jaw clenched when he spoke of poison and lies. He had carried that burden alone for so long. And Valen. Valen was the root of it all.His smirk kept playing across my mind. The same small curl of the lip that always said: I won. The thoug

Third Person’s PerspectiveFlora sat alone in the quiet room, her body stiff on the edge of the bed. The silence around her was almost painful. Her hands lay limp on her lap, her fingers cold and still. Her eyes stared at the floor but she wasn’t really seeing it. The same words kept playing in her mind like a drumbeat she could not escape.Sibling match confirmed. Her chest felt so heavy she could barely breathe. Lukas. Her brother. The man who had been her closest friend. The one who had always looked out for her, the one who felt safe. The one who, in weak moments, she had let herself admire. He wasn’t who she thought he was. He wasn’t just Lukas. He was blood. Her stomach twisted at the thought. Everything inside her was tangled and confusing. Should she cry? Should she scream? Should she pretend it wasn’t true? She didn’t even know how to feel. It was too much. She buried her face in her hands, rocking forward a little. Her voice came out in a broken whisper, though no one was th
