When the plane landed, they asked once again if I wanted them to drop me off but I politely declined and flagged down a taxi instead.

After reciting the address of my resort to the driver, I brought out my phone and called Lila.

She answered immediately as though she had been waiting for me to call even though it was way past midnight and closer to morning. “Girl! It took you long enough!” She hissed, not caring that she was practically yelling in my ear. “Did you just land? Isn’t your flight supposed to be for only six hours?”

“It got canceled.”

“What???” Her voice was even louder this time. “So where the hell are you then? Did you book with a different airline?”

“Kinda…”

“What do you mean kinda?”

“Well, I ran into this man…”

“Serena!” She interrupted me. “What the hell did I tell you about making out with strangers?”
