ALEXANDER

When the other two teams I had sent out didn’t make it back even after lunchtime, the arms bells in my head immediately went off and I called for an emergency meeting with the Delta. We had a few and every one of them had a department they oversaw.

Jude mostly raised lycanthropy hunters. Their job description was just that. Whenever we needed to find something, trace someone or follow them, his team went out to do that.

He walked into the office, wearing his warrior’s uniform. His face was a mask of relaxation as he stepped in.

“Alpha.” His gruff voice greeted as he took on a warrior’s stance right in front of the desk. I addressed him with a nod. He didn’t move in the time I rounded up what I was writing down, waiting for me to address him when I was done.

“Have you heard back from the Ci and Des teams?” I glanced at him, noting his eyes remained cast somewhere above my head.

“No sir, but distress signals haven’t been sent off yet, so we think they are on their way back.” I

ALEXANDERGreen. Brown. Red.The colours kept repeating themselves in my head. I looked around the place, to be sure I was still there but I could see were those colours. What did they mean? I didn’t know. If they signified anything, I still couldn’t tell. But they were on a loop in my mind. And I couldn’t break the loop for some reason. The sky was moving around in fast circles. It made me think of the solar system. Except, it acted more like a sports car in a race. The squealing tires and all. What part of the sky was getting out a shrill cry is what I didn’t know.A growl ripped from my chest, out of my control. My body seemed to have a mind of its own, fighting an invisible force that was coming from all angles. On one hand, it felt like a tornado wind pushing me from all directions. Except, I could have sworn I felt a real embodiment or something. My eyes snapped open and I found myself in bed again, the white ceiling staring back at me as I tried to make sense of what just happe

ALEXANDER“Well,” I fixed my gaze on Ayda, the rage simmering in my bloodstream made it harder for me to even let her image become fully clear to me.I couldn’t believe she did something I explicitly told her not to. I didn’t want it, I didn’t like it. I sure as hell do not appreciate it. And what pissed me off the most was how she looked totally unapologetic. God, I didn’t know why I fucking brought her to the pack. I did this to myself by wanting to be a fucking martyrs. It was much better for me to just be an asshole and get it over with.“Leave, right now.” My tone left no room for arguments. And she must have finally understood that language because she quietly got up from the chair and dropped the book she had been reading on the bedside table. Her steps were slow, almost like she expected me or was waiting for me to call her back. I followed after her, and the moment she was out, I banged the door closed, going an extra mile by locking it with the key.I didn’t know what to thi

ALEXANDERI cleared my throat, ignoring whatever that was and decided to address her instead.“Aren’t you cold?” My voice sounded rough, which made it come out deeper than I expected, or wanted truly. I was clearing my throat when she responded to my comment.“Lycan genes?” She voiced it like a question, as though she was noting how I didn’t have to ask that.Right, it had slipped my mind. Not that it was my intention or anything. “Okay.”I managed to say. I was walking to the bed when I stopped abruptly, the images of the blood and the body and the destroyed camp made me hesitate to get on the bed again. I recalled what happened before all of that happened. She’d walked into the room, an almost skip to her step. She stared at me with that wide grin on her face.“We are starting our sessions now.”I wordlessly stared at her like she had grown two heads. She stared back at me for about a minute, until she saw she wasn’t going to win that staring contest, then she sighed and threw her h

ALEXANDERI should have listened to the voice that said I should run in the opposite direction of Ayda. I couldn’t tell you one thing my mind has been focused on in the two days since we had that conversation about her healing me. I had no one to blame but myself for not listening to the voice in my head that told me to get the hell out of there. Because then, I wouldn’t be in this situation.I stared at my bloodied hand and shirt, then to the dismantled body right by my now soaked shoes. The black had a glossy sheen to it that wasn’t shoe polish. Not even the water from the poodles created by rain on the floor. It was blood. It was all blood. The strong metallic scent filtered through my nostrils, making it almost too hard for me to inhale without feeling my throat tightening up. I blinked, then slowly lifted my gaze, taking in the scene before me slowly.Trees were broken, some from the branches, others right from their roots, like they were pulled. The leaves were everywhere. My br

ALEXANDERAfter our meal, Ayda mentions wanting to see the gardens again. And to not make her feel totally unwelcome after the seating thing, I agreed to go with her. She looked elated when I said I was tagging along. We walked out of the house with me in the front, I wait until she steps out then I continue walking, with her beside me. The moon glows in the dark side, adding to the allure of all the other lights surrounding the pack house.“This place is beautiful at night.” Aya speaks, staring at the long driveway in front of us. I make a sound at the bar of my throat to acknowledge her words. “Do you host events out here? It would be breathtaking.”“Not really.” I respond, gently taking hold of her elbow so I can steer her toward the garden. She started walking in the wrong direction, captivated by the scenery in front of her.I haven’t renovated the place so much that it lost it’s original designs. If there was one good thing my father did while he was king and alpha, it was this.
