ALINA

I should have known that the repercussions of my actions will come with pain.

When I woke up that morning, my head was raging hard, like the storm that was going on in it didn't want to subside.

The sun had already risen in the sky and I could hear the birds chirping outside.

They were so damn loud.

Gosh, what had I done last night? I was naked and the pain between my legs was throbbing.

Now was not the time to start recounting past events. I needed to get out of here and go back to the pack before that bastard notices I'm gone and decides to make my life a living hell.

A loud snore caught my attention and I looked behind me to see the very muscly man sleeping soundly behind me.

Who was this? I tried so hard to remember his face but all I got was a headache.

Now, I had to try to get out of here without making such a loud noise that will wake him up. It was better I didn't even see him so I would not feel different when I saw him outside.

I couldn't deal with with awkwardness. But what if he remembers my face?

Screw that, I'll deal with that later.

James will have my head if he finds out that I went out. I just hope Hailey wouldn't get in trouble for me.

Thankfully, the door was very silent and I walked outside slowly, embarking on a new journey back.

The area wasn't very far from the house and if I ran, I would get there in less time.

I didn't know what exactly I was going to say if I get caught but the main aim was to get home in one piece.

The guards were already mounted at the gate and now, I was going to find a way to enter the house.

What the hell was I going to do now? Everyone was already out and doing something and I was nowhere to be found. The fact that I was now a known figure in the pack after yesterday's events didn't make things better.

Just then, like my savior, Hailey came out of the gate and spotted me immediately in the bushes. Her eyes widened when she understood the situation.

She turned around and started speaking to the guards and I wondered what she was saying. Before long, both of them at the gate turned around and walked away, giving me time to run over to her and enter.

“Thank you so much! You're my savior! I don't know what I could have done without you!”

She rolled her eyes, handing me the basket that she was holding.

“Hold this, take it back inside. If anyone asks where you've been, tell them you went to the market to get ingredients for lunch. Go!”

I smiled and walked inside with so much pride like I hadn't just done something wrong.

As I walked into the house, I began thinking. What I did last night was very reckless, I could have ended up kidnapped, dead or even in the hands of the Wolf Slayer.

But I guess I dared say that it was worth it. I got to forget about my life for a while and I enjoyed and lived like anyone else my age would have loved to.

“You there! Come here!”

You have got to be kidding me. Out of all the people to bump into, it just had to be him.

I stopped walking but I didn't turn around. I just hoped that he couldn't still smell the alcohol on me.

“Where are you coming from?”

I had to tell myself not to be a smart mouth so I won't get into trouble again so I turned around with a very forced smile.

“I went to get ingredients for lunch. If you'll excuse me, I have something to do so-”

He grabbed my hand before I could turn around. His grip was so tight that I ended up wincing.

“Let go of me! What are you doing?!”

He yanked me so hard that the basket flew out of my hand and scattered all over the place. Before I could say anything, he dragged me into a room and threw me in the bed and then locked the door.

“What the hell are you doing? Why are you locking the door?”

He had a very sinister smile on his face and he began unbuckling his belt.

“You know, after what happened yesterday, I couldn't help myself from looking at you. You have the body and face of a goddess. Let me love you. I heard you're still a virgin. Let me have the chance to break through your precious waters. How wonderful it would feel to be inside you.”

I felt so disgusted by the way he was looking at me and my brain started thinking about ways to get the hell out of here. There was no way that I would let him touch me, not after he rejected me and ridiculed me in front of everyone.

As if that was not enough, he wanted to sleep with me.

Well, what he wanted had already been taken by another man and if he found out about that, he might design my face for me.

I got up from the bed and ran to the other corner of the room .

“Stay away from me, you monster! I'll shout. If you come close to me, I'll shout. Leave me alone!”

There was nothing I could use to protect myself and I couldn't shout because no one will help me.

As he was about to close in on the corners when there was a loud knock on the door.

“Who is it? Get away! I'm busy!”

He turned back to me but the knock stopped him again.

“Sir! Please come. There's something going on outside! We need you.”

Because of that, he turned around and walked away. I didn’t have time to feel relief that I had just escaped another horror when I started listening to the loud screams and shouts that had filled the air, just like yesterday.

ALEXANDERI kept a protective arm around Alina, making sure no one jostled her too roughly, and that she had space to breathe. But I didn't have to worry, the pack was careful with her, mindful of her pregnancy, showing the same protectiveness I felt.“Luna Alina,” one of the visiting Alphas said, approaching us with his mate. “A beautiful ceremony. And a powerful speech. You’ll be good for this pack.”“Thank you,” Alina said graciously. “That means a lot coming from someone with your experience.”I watched her navigate the conversation, deflecting questions she didn’t know how to answer, asking intelligent questions of her own, making connections with these influential visitors. Natural diplomat, just as I’d told her.The evening progressed, food and drink flowing freely. Alina managed to eat a little, though I could tell she was getting tired. The Luna mark would take time to fully settle, and the magical binding was exhausting on top of everything else.“Do you need to sit?” I aske

ALEXANDERI felt the bond knitting itself between Alina’s spirit and the heart of the pack. Her pulse beat against mine, strong and sure, until the line between us blurred. My wolf stirred restlessly, recognizing the shift, the acceptance, the power that now pulsed through her veins.Alina’s breath caught. A faint glow shimmered where our hands were joined. When I finally pulled back, the wound had already sealed, leaving a faint scar shaped like the crescent moon.“Now, you mark her,” Moira’s voice broke through the thoughts running wild in my head. “Let all who see know that she belongs to this pack, and this pack to her.”I released Alina’s hand and moved to stand directly before her. This was the part I’d been both anticipating and dreading. The Luna mark was different from a mate mark. It was more visible, more painful, and absolutely permanent. It would brand her as mine, yes, but more importantly as theirs. The pack’s Luna.“This will hurt,” I said quietly, so only she could he

ALEXANDER“Good,” Alina said. “Because I’m going to need you. Today, tomorrow, when these babies arrive and I have no idea what I’m doing—”“We’ll figure it out together,” I interrupted her before she would go on a spiral and start doubting herself again. “That’s what this ceremony means, remember? We’re not alone. We have each other. We have the pack.”She nodded, taking a deep breath. “Okay. I can do this.”“You can do this,” I confirmed.A knock on the door announced Rory’s return. “Time,” she said. “Alexander, you need to get to the hall. Alina, we need to get you in position.”I pressed a kiss to Alina’s forehead, careful not to disturb her hair or makeup. “I’ll see you out there.”“You better,” she said, managing a smile. “Don’t make me walk down that aisle for nothing.”“I wouldn’t dream of it.”The ceremonial hall was packed when I arrived. Every member of our pack was present, dressed in their finest. Representatives from six neighboring packs occupied the places of honor nea

ALEXANDERI stood at the window of our quarters, watching the sun begin its descent toward the horizon. In an hour, the ceremony would begin. In an hour, Alina would walk down that aisle and officially become my Luna, the pack’s Luna.I think a part of me knew from the moment I met her that it was going to end this way. I’d tried to fight the connection, it didn’t go so well. And after everything we’d been through—the kidnapping, the curse, nearly losing her and our children—this moment felt almost surreal. Like if I looked away too long, it might disappear, revealed as just another hallucination from the curse. But she was real. I could hear her in the next room with Rory and the other women, their voices mixing with laughter as they prepared. Her laugh, light and genuine, something I’d feared I might never hear again during those dark days in the forest.“You’re thinking too hard,” Ryker said from the doorway.“I’m reflecting,” I corrected.“You’re terrified something’s going to go

ALINAMy scream brought Alexander running from the bathroom., half-dressed, terror in his eyes.“The babies,” I gasped. “Something’s wrong—”The words were barely out of my mouth before he started moving. He picked the phone up, from the way his shoulders were stiff, I knew he was sending a mindlink.I was filled with so much terror that the thought of moving froze me to my spot. Alexander on my side again in the next second, holding my hand, whispering words of assurance in my ears. But I was far gone, whimpering and sobbing and clutching my bump.“Please save my babies.” Was the only thing I could utter.Dr. Sarah was there within minutes. Her professional mask fell when she entered, I saw the look she gave me and it only made me panic more. She shook her head and took off her stethoscope even before she got me. She examined me quickly. I didn’t know if I was the one shaking or what was happening but it looked like her hands were shaking. She stepped back after a while. Her face was

ALINA“I’ll get you the traditional text,” Rory said. “But the basics are, Do you accept this pack as your family? Do you swear to protect them, guide them, stand beside them in times of hardship? Do you understand that their wellbeing comes before your own comfort?”Each question felt heavier than the last. I swallowed a huge lump that formed in my throat. “And if I say yes?”“Then Alexander will mark you. Give you the Luna mark, different from the mate mark. It’s visible, placed here—” she touched her collarbone, “—so everyone can see that you’re claimed by the pack, not just the Alpha.”“Does it hurt?”“I won’t lie to you, yes. But it’s a good pain. A sacred pain. And it fades quickly.” She moved to the center of the dais. “After the marking, you’ll both address the pack. Usually, the Alpha speaks first, formally presenting his Luna. Then you speak. Just a few words about your commitment, your hopes for the future.”“Then everyone feasts and celebrates?”“Then everyone feasts and c
