ALINA
I should have known that the repercussions of my actions will come with pain. When I woke up that morning, my head was raging hard, like the storm that was going on in it didn't want to subside. The sun had already risen in the sky and I could hear the birds chirping outside. They were so damn loud. Gosh, what had I done last night? I was naked and the pain between my legs was throbbing. Now was not the time to start recounting past events. I needed to get out of here and go back to the pack before that bastard notices I'm gone and decides to make my life a living hell. A loud snore caught my attention and I looked behind me to see the very muscly man sleeping soundly behind me. Who was this? I tried so hard to remember his face but all I got was a headache. Now, I had to try to get out of here without making such a loud noise that will wake him up. It was better I didn't even see him so I would not feel different when I saw him outside. I couldn't deal with with awkwardness. But what if he remembers my face? Screw that, I'll deal with that later. James will have my head if he finds out that I went out. I just hope Hailey wouldn't get in trouble for me. Thankfully, the door was very silent and I walked outside slowly, embarking on a new journey back. The area wasn't very far from the house and if I ran, I would get there in less time. I didn't know what exactly I was going to say if I get caught but the main aim was to get home in one piece. The guards were already mounted at the gate and now, I was going to find a way to enter the house. What the hell was I going to do now? Everyone was already out and doing something and I was nowhere to be found. The fact that I was now a known figure in the pack after yesterday's events didn't make things better. Just then, like my savior, Hailey came out of the gate and spotted me immediately in the bushes. Her eyes widened when she understood the situation. She turned around and started speaking to the guards and I wondered what she was saying. Before long, both of them at the gate turned around and walked away, giving me time to run over to her and enter. “Thank you so much! You're my savior! I don't know what I could have done without you!” She rolled her eyes, handing me the basket that she was holding. “Hold this, take it back inside. If anyone asks where you've been, tell them you went to the market to get ingredients for lunch. Go!” I smiled and walked inside with so much pride like I hadn't just done something wrong. As I walked into the house, I began thinking. What I did last night was very reckless, I could have ended up kidnapped, dead or even in the hands of the Wolf Slayer. But I guess I dared say that it was worth it. I got to forget about my life for a while and I enjoyed and lived like anyone else my age would have loved to. “You there! Come here!” You have got to be kidding me. Out of all the people to bump into, it just had to be him. I stopped walking but I didn't turn around. I just hoped that he couldn't still smell the alcohol on me. “Where are you coming from?” I had to tell myself not to be a smart mouth so I won't get into trouble again so I turned around with a very forced smile. “I went to get ingredients for lunch. If you'll excuse me, I have something to do so-” He grabbed my hand before I could turn around. His grip was so tight that I ended up wincing. “Let go of me! What are you doing?!” He yanked me so hard that the basket flew out of my hand and scattered all over the place. Before I could say anything, he dragged me into a room and threw me in the bed and then locked the door. “What the hell are you doing? Why are you locking the door?” He had a very sinister smile on his face and he began unbuckling his belt. “You know, after what happened yesterday, I couldn't help myself from looking at you. You have the body and face of a goddess. Let me love you. I heard you're still a virgin. Let me have the chance to break through your precious waters. How wonderful it would feel to be inside you.” I felt so disgusted by the way he was looking at me and my brain started thinking about ways to get the hell out of here. There was no way that I would let him touch me, not after he rejected me and ridiculed me in front of everyone. As if that was not enough, he wanted to sleep with me. Well, what he wanted had already been taken by another man and if he found out about that, he might design my face for me. I got up from the bed and ran to the other corner of the room . “Stay away from me, you monster! I'll shout. If you come close to me, I'll shout. Leave me alone!” There was nothing I could use to protect myself and I couldn't shout because no one will help me. As he was about to close in on the corners when there was a loud knock on the door. “Who is it? Get away! I'm busy!” He turned back to me but the knock stopped him again. “Sir! Please come. There's something going on outside! We need you.” Because of that, he turned around and walked away. I didn’t have time to feel relief that I had just escaped another horror when I started listening to the loud screams and shouts that had filled the air, just like yesterday.ALEXANDER“Go and take a shower, you stink.” Killian scrunched his face, pointing to the door. Claude who was fixing himself another drink nodded in agreement.I had an argument on the tip of my tongue but a single whiff of my pits told me they were right. I walked out of the office. I guess the small ray of hope I needed to snap out of whatever dark depression I’d been in the past week was a step in the right direction. That being the one place I would get to Alina’s killers. My shower was quick, even though I knew I needed more than that. I wasn’t getting ready for a fashion show. If anything, I was definitely going to come back bloody and dirtier than I was right then. Not taking a moment to wipe my hair or anything, I pull on a black t-shirt and jeans. The round neck was already starting to get damp because of the water in my hair. When I returned to the office, I found them still sitting in the same position, mid laugh about something I knew wouldn’t make any damn sense.“Let’s g
ALEXANDERThe sky was dark and the house was quiet when I finally came back to it. After making the vow to get rid of the people who did this to Alina, I passed out.Bubbling bloodlust made me call an emergency meeting in the pack hall. We were going to war and my people needed to know it. The silence in the hall is too loud. So quiet but I could barely hear myself over the thudding of my heart in my chest. I couldn’t remember the last time I was like this. So out of touch with everything. Now, addressing the pack felt like a chore I would rather pass on to literally anyone than do myself. The reminder that Alina was in the crowd the last time we did this made my heart stutter a little.I cleared my throat and reminded myself I was an alpha first. And these people risk their lives at every point for me. They deserved a leader that would be present and stand for them. Just like they would for me.“I-I…” the scent of blood filled my nostrils, forcing my eyes wide.A loud scream broke o
ALEXANDERThe burn of the liquor as it went down my throat did nothing to stop the turbulent thoughts running through my mind. I’ve been here for over an hour attempting to drink my sorrows away. But all I got was empty bottles with my mind still as sharp as before I started. Probably even worse now.The clink of the glass made my eyes lazily travel to where Claude was slumped on the sofa. He resembled a deer caught in headlights with his wide eyes and parted mouth, like he was going to say something but he hasn’t spoken a word since the ‘fuck’ he uttered after the doctor confirmed Alina died with my child in her womb.My heir. My mate. My woman. All fucking gone!!!My hand moved before my brain could catch up. Claude’s loud scream and the sound of shattering glass told me what I just did.I ignored his profanities, instead trying to steady my breathing. I needed to think! I couldn’t fucking think!I pushed off the chair, standing to my feet in one go. The carpet bunches, causing the
ALEXANDERThe door banged shut and not even a second later, I found Claude standing in front of him, his face a mask of annoyance with little hints of gentleness.“You’re seriously not going to just sit here, Alexander. You have a pack to run.” He said the words he has been speaking for the past week.It didn’t matter how much I ignored him or yelled at him to get the fuck out, he always comes back like he doesn’t have anything better to do. If it bothers him so damn much, he could run the back for all I fucking cared. After calling my name multiple times, he found a place to sit on the bed.“This is really what you want to do?” I could hear the frustration in his voice, I just couldn’t bring myself to care. “Lying down and moping isn’t going to bring Alina back. But if you get off your ass, you might be able to find her.”“And what good will that do?!” I snapped, I was tired of hearing him talk about finding her. Like it was going to help the fact that she is dead. That I killed her
ALEXANDER Fuck! I should have seen this coming. I should have fucking known sending Callum wasn’t the end of this. It was a trap and I fell right into it. The entire hall breaks out in chaos, but I wanted to get Alina to safety first. I’ll kill every last fucking one of them after that. But I know if I leave this hall, then I am taking the danger with me. I am the one they want and she is just going to be a casualty. But if they touch even a fucking hair on her body, then I’m going to destroy the entire fucking group and whoever is behind this. My target was that one man with the dagger. I saw the imprint of it in his suit. At first, I thought he was just horrible at disguises but then I later realised he wanted me to know it was there. This was all fucking planned. They had to have a contact close to me. Only a few people knew I was coming here. My security and Claude. And I know they won’t give out that information even if it’ll cost them their lives. Or could it be C
ALINA The music ends and another one starts, also taking a slow tone so we didn’t even break our stride. I was watching Alexander, waiting for him to start, or rather, continue talking. In the meantime, I busied myself with looking around me. Seeing the faces of the people around us, some were also immersed in conversation as they swayed slowly to the beats. Others were quiet. A woman was resting her head on the shoulder of the man who had his arms around her. She had a relaxed look on her face. Like she was in the best place in the world. I wondered what that would feel like. I peeled my eyes away from the others and focused on Alexander, who was watching me expectantly. “I have nothing to offer them. Why are they taking an interest in me now?” I asked, my eyebrows coming together. “That is what I am trying to find out too.” Alexander said. Without turning, he tilts his head to his right slightly, I would have missed it if I wasn't watching him closely. “Can you see that
