Rhience

Standing before me is the woman who has been plaguing my dreams. She has been the center of my visions for the past two years.

Fuck! She’s even prettier in person. My mind flashes back to the first time I saw her in my dream two years ago. I was shocked, but mesmerized at the same time. It was the first time I had ever seen a hybrid, even it was only in my dreams. She kept on appearing to me and every time I tried to reach out to her, she would disappear. But all that was until last week when Selene appeared to me, breaking my decade long curse and saying something along the lines of “I have given you a mate, my child. She has been born into suffering so she may become strong enough to stand beside you. The white wolf and the witch are two halves of the same whole. Find her. Protect her. She is the key to ending the century old war.” I immediately knew that it was the woman who had been haunting my dreams for two years that is my mate. The same night the blonde haired woman appeared to me again, but this time, Instead of the bright smiles she would give me before disappearing, she had a heartbroken expression on her face, with tears dropping down her eyes The bright light that was usually around her seemed to dim and her white wolf was no were to be seen. My beautiful mate. What did they do to her?. I stepped towards her and she didn’t run this time, instead she offered a smile which was fragile but breathtaking nonetheless. My possessive instincts roared to life and I closed the distance between us. I gently cupped her face and my hands were trembling. For the first time in a decade, I showed some kind of weakness.

“You won’t have to wait much longer, my sweet girl,” I whispered , my voice rough with a longing that has lasted lifetimes. I brushed away a tear with my thumb. “I’ve finally found you. And I’m coming to claim what belongs to me.”

Her eyes widened in surprise, and softened into something warmer, just before she vanished.

Back to the present. She’s staring at me like a deer caught in headlights. When I speak, recognition flashes across her face, followed instantly by shock. The bond between us pulses, humming stronger with every single heartbeat.

She is mine. And I am finally here to claim her.

“Y-you’re the voice in my head!” She stutters and I blank for a moment. Her voice is the most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard in my life. what does she mean by the voice in her head?

“What do you mean mate?” I ask her and her eyes widened even more dramatically.

“I-I heard your voice inside my head earlier this week. Who are you? And why are you calling me your mate?”

“You’ll find out who I am in due time. Now, tell me your name” her lips part but no words come out.

She hesitates, her gaze darting around my face as if she is searching for something. The scent of her fear mixes with something sweeter-arousal, curiosity and the fresh lingering pain of a broken mate bond. My wolf snarls at the knowledge that another male had once dared to claim her, even temporarily.

“Lisandra. My name is Lisandra Wentworth.” She finally answers. I know that name. It’s the name of the gamma of this pack. So she’s his daughter? How come she is half-witch then? I take a single step closer to her and when she doesn’t back away, I close the space between us completely.

“Why did you call me your mate? I just broke up with my mate a few moments ago. I can’t have another mate so suddenly.” She says in disbelief and I just want to take her in my arms but I control myself.

“Anything is possible for the moon goddess to do Lisandra. That pup was never meant to be for you . He was only temporary. You belong to me now.” Her hands curl into fists at her side and that’s when I see it. Silver sparks flicker briefly across her knuckles before she forces them down. It’s magic, just like in my dreams.

“You can’t just walk in here and declare that,” she says, with a whole lot of fight in her. She’s feisty and fuck if I don’t love it. I smirk as I watch her. She looks like she wants to attack me but she doesn’t because she’s in Lycan territory. She knows how dangerous it is to practice magic here. Although I won’t let any thing happen to her. She’s now under my protection.

“Hmmm. We’ll see about that Mate.” I reach up slowly, brushing a strand of golden hair behind her ear. The second my fingers graze her skin, the bond detonates between us. It’s golden, searing and absolute. Her breath hitches. My eyes burn pure gold.

Suddenly, a low, growl rumbles from the far side of the hall. A man steps forward, claws already half-shifted, face twisted with pure rage.

“Get your hands off my mate.” Lisandra goes completely still in my arms at his words. Then she snaps. She wrenches away from me so fast that I barely have time to react. Silver sparks explode across her hands as she turns on Julian, her eyes blazing with pure fury.

“I am not your mate!” she shouts, her voice shaking with rage. “I rejected you! You and Genevieve can rot together for all I care!”

The magic around her hands grows wilder and ready to strike. The space now feels very charged. She’s about to attack him.

And if she does… every Lycan in this building will see exactly what she is.

Lisandra I rush back into the meeting room, stumbling quite a few times before I successfully make it. I burst into the room and all eyes are on me. I know I look off. My cheeks are flushed and my heart beat is faster than it was when I left this room. They can all probably hear it.“What happened to you darling?”” Rhience asks me via mind-link and I shake my head to tell him that everything is fine. I don’t want to alarm him just yet in case I turn out to be wrong.“Is something the matter, Lisandra?” It’s Alyssa who asks this time and she has a really concerned look on her face. I observe her face very well. The similarities between our features are very uncanny. I am very positive that in the next few centuries I will look exactly like she does, minus the eyes.“Lisandra?”If she turns out to be my mother after all, my heart will be so full of joy.“Lisandra?”I will finally know what it feels to have a mother’s love. I don’t even notice that her mouth is still moving because I’m

LisandraRhience growls at Nazar angrily and Alyssa has to intervene before they actually start a full blown war.“Rhience, congratulations on finding your mate. She is very pretty.” She gives me a small smile.“You are far too kind Alyssa. You look stunning yourself.” Her smile grows wide which causes me to smile. Both of the men are gaping at us in wonder.“Shall we begin the meeting?” She speaks again and we all nod.“To be quite honest, I don’t really see the reason why we are having this meeting. Everything is absolutely fine.” Nazar says smugly which causes Rhience to growl loudly again.“Your vampires have been intruding our lands and causing nuisance, Nazar. So, yes. There is every need for this meeting.” I speak up for Rhience and Alyssa nods at me in respect. Nazar looks at me and a smirk forms on his lips. A look of mischief and admiration crosses his face. “Well, Queen Lisandra, I assure you that I do not know anything about that. I’m sure they are just acting out of tur

Lisandra. When Rhience said the meeting was going to be held on neutral grounds, I didn’t expect the neutral grounds to be void-like.We didn’t even use any mode of transport. We just…teleported.“You can teleport?”I ask him the question in bewilderment. I wasn’t aware that teleportation was one of his many different abilities.“I’m a witch and I can’t even teleport, so how can you?” Now I’m jealous of his abilities. A laugh leaves his mouth as we keep on walking into the void. Where we are walking to, I have no idea.“Are you jealous, Queen Lisandra?” He asks jokingly and I huff in playful annoyance. “Duh? Of course I am. It’s like you’re the moon goddess’s favorite creation.”“That, I am darling.” He grins and we keep on walking until he comes to a stop. I stop right behind him and he sinks his hand inside his coat pocket, bringing out a small bag of something.“What’s that?” I ask, curiosity getting the best of me.“You’ll see.” He goes to the far end of the surrounding and starts

LisandraNala throws herself at me in a brutal attack, her fist flying toward my face with raw force. I barely have time to react before my instinct takes over. I duck low and drive my own fist into her midsection. The impact makes her stumble back a step, her eyes widening in pure shock. She didn’t expect that. She didn’t expect me to fight back this hard.“You’re stronger than you look,” she hisses, recovering quickly and launching another flurry of punches. I block the first, dodge the second, and counter with a sharp jab to her jaw. The crack of impact against skin echoes across the training grounds.Around us, the other warriors begin to slow their own spars. One by one they stop completely, turning to watch. I feel their eyes on us, but I don’t care. All I see is Nala’s arrogant face and the memory of her sitting in my chair like she belonged there. She comes at me again, faster this time, swinging with everything she has. I meet her head-on. My fists move hard and fast, matchin

Lisandra.“You already know the story of my abuse, adoptive parents and all. I figured out that I had magic when I was fifteen and I started practicing in secret. I didn’t have much material, but I found a small spell book at Lunar ridge’s central library. Not sure what it was doing there though. I stole it and nobody ever found out.”“You’re so brave, darling. What about your sister? Tell me about your relationship with her.” A smile crosses my lips at the mention of Genevieve, but it quickly diminishes when the memory of her betrayal crosses my mind. “Genevieve…she was the only family who treated me like a normal person. Gen didn’t fault me for not having my wolf when I turned eighteen. She was the only one who loved me in that whole pack.” I pause as a drop of tear slips down my cheek. “When I caught her with Julian,it broke my heart. Her betrayal devastated me more than Julian’s. It broke me that my own sister, whom I did everything in my power to protect, could even think of bet

Lisandra. I grunt in exhaustion but I don’t stop. I keep on hitting the warrior, and instead of him fighting back, he’s just taking the hits.“Hit me back, dammit” “Your majesty, I’m exhausted. We have been going at it for an hour.” I pause and look at Mona who is sitting by the side.“He’s right Lisa. I think you need to rest for a bit.”“I don’t, Mona. What I need to do is to train.”“I love you Lisa, but I’m not fighting with you anymore. You almost dislocated my shoulder.” I wince at her words.“Sorry Mona. I’m just so…angry.” I face the warrior again and keep hitting.“Yeah. I’m sure the whole palace can tell.”“H-he allowed that woman into our home. The bitch thinks she can have him.” I hit the warrior so hard that he falls flat on his back.“Well, it’s a good thing that she can’t. I think you need to relax. Rhience has eyes only for you.”“Yeah, right.”“She is right darling. I only have eyes for you and no one else.” An inaudible gasp leaves my lips at his voice. I turn to s
