Madison POV

I can feel my heart race fast. What on earth happened??

Wasn’t it Zach Westley I saw yesterday?

And now this??

I ran to the stretcher to take a look at Zach, he doesn’t look good at all. He has bruises on his head and different cuts too. He is also bleeding from his stomach.

It wasn’t just Zach hurt, Liam is also hurt and Adrian is too.

“Oh my goodness, what happened?” I asked Zane

“ Uhm, it’s a long story.. can they start treatment first before I say anything” he replied wearily.

I blinked rapidly as I nod my head and threw my gaze to Zach. His eyes are closed and it’s making me scared.

I rubbed his arm as I ran along with the stretcher.

“Zach please be strong, for me.” I whimpered.

Dr. Melvin stepped forward, “To the VIP ward, take them to different wards” he ordered as the nurses did as he said.

I ran to him immediately, “Uhm Doctor Melvin, I know they are not my patients but please may I scrub in?” I pleaded

He turned around and I followed him, “Are you operating on Zach?, I mean Mr Zach Westley?” I asked and he mumbles ‘yes’.

I sighed heavily as I followed him into the ward, “Can I? May I scrub in too? Please” I pleaded and he paused to turn to look at me with a carved brow.

“I see Madison, you have some kind of connection with Zach isn’t it?” he asks as he walked to the washing sink to wash his hands.

“Well no, so may I scrub in?” I lie and asked again.

“No” he simply replied as he turns the water off and shake his hands.

“What?” I blinked rapidly at him.

“Madison, you need rest…go grab yourself a cup of coffee and rest okay?. Besides, you have patients to attend to, the other doctors and I will take care of Zach and his clan so you can be rest assured I’ll do my best” he replied and Zane stepped in.

Dr. Melvin attention turned to him immediately, “So what happened to him?” he asks Zane.

“First, an accident then after that, he got shot. Promise me he will survive this” Zane pleaded.

He was also hurt, he has some cut on his face too.

“I will do my best” Dr. Melvin replied

I turned to Zane and held him by his wrist, “Zane come with me” I said and he cocks his brows at me.

“Yes, I need to treat your wound” I replied and left the ward with him.

I’ll also use the opportunity to ask him what happened, I know Zane will hide no detail from me.

I took him to another room as I sat him down and stood before him. I picked up my gloves and wore them on before I begin any procedure.

“Should I be scared? This isn’t the first time Zach would be shot but this is the first time he would be having a terrible accident” he said lowly and I paused.

“Accident? How come? Who was the driver?” I asked heavily

“One of our men, we were actually attacked by Greg’s men” he replied as I dipped the cotton wool into the methylated spirit and rubbed it around his cut.

Zane winced lowly, “Sorry about that” I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

“What did you do to his men then?” I asked

“We had a terrible fight on the street, Zach was really the one affected the most by the accident. The thing is we were attacked by their car. I feel so bad for my brother, I just want him to come out of the ward alive” Zane sighed and I pulled away to look at him.

“Don’t be scared okay? I trust Zach, he is a fighter…he would come out alive” I replied as I pat his shoulders.

“Madison, you got into a fight with my brother right? Last night…” he said softly and I sighed.

“I was just pissed off, Zach is a good man and I know I was wrong. I’ll make things up with him once he is okay” I replied with an assuring smile.

“Zach has never been this way to a woman, you are driving my brother crazy for real” he replied and I chuckled lowly

“I think so,” I shrugged and grabbed a plaster for his cut.

“If I set my eyes on either of Greg’s men, I won’t hesitate to kill them” he replied.

I finished dressing his wound and backed away, “I am done”

“Thank you, Doctor Madison.” He smiled as he got up from his seat.

“I want to go check up on him now, I’ll see you around Madison” he said as he walks out of the room.

As soon as Zane left, I sat on the chair and let my head fall low as I buried my face in my palms and cried out lowly.

“Why? Zach you have to be strong”

This day is really going to be one stressful day.

I have no idea of where Krystal is, she is probably working on her patients.

I really can’t attend to anyone now until I see Zach is okay.

I left the room after sniffing in my nose and wipes my cheek with the back of my palm.

Not just Zach, Liam and the rest are hurt…it is really going to be a long day today.

I made my way to the cafeteria to do as Dr. Melvin instructed me. He said I should get some coffee and that is what I am going to do.

I took a seat while I waited for Krystal to come update with some news.

An hour later, I had gone through over 5 cups of coffee and still no sign of Krystal.

I have never been this anxious in my life, I just want to hear Zach is doing well, that he is fine and I can relax my thoughts.

I took out my phone, Zach’s car accident had is all over the news, it is reported that they don’t know who is behind the accident but it is clear to me it is Greg and his men.

The gun fires were mentioned but it’d also reported no passenger got hurt.

How would they report the gun fires and don’t know who is behind the accident?

“Ugh! Dumb news” I scoffed and threw my phone to the table to open another cup of coffee.

About an hour and half later, Krystal walked towards me as I sat up immediately.

“How is he?” I asked immediately she stood before me.

“He is alive, we almost lost him twice but he pulled through” she explains and my shoulder relaxed.

“Oh goodness, thank God” I breathe heavily and let my head fall on my palm.

“Wait, did you drink all those?” she asked referring to the several empty cups of coffee.

“I wanted to stay active, I’ve been stressed. Have to told Zane the good news?” I asked her as I pulled her by her arm to get up from my seat.

Krystal and I stepped out of the cafeteria to head back to the ward.

“Yes I have, he is happy now.” She replied

“Have you seen Adrian too? How is he doing?” I asked

“I saw Doctor Samantha working on him, she is a good one you know? I am sure he will be okay” she replied and I nod my head.

As soon as we got to the ward, Krystal left to talk to Zane while I turned to look at Zach in the ward on the bed. He was still unconscious.

Dr. Melvin is standing at the end of the bed writing a chart while I walk in.

“Wow.” I gasped at Zach’s current state. He really got a rough beating in the car. He is not looking good at all.

“You still came in?” Melvin asks. Probably he thought I’d leave.

“I wanted to be sure he is okay” I replied with a shrug.

“I’ll give a minute” he says as he leaves.
