Welcome back to work

           Madison chuckled between his lips as she pulled away from the kiss and smiled at the handsome young man before her.

“You have your own ways of making me happy.” She whispered to him.

“Yep, I can see that clearly my love.” He replied as she giggled lowly and turned to Adrian.

“So, coconut water it is.” She smiled

“Yep, I will take Zach in now or else, he would disturb you and that would make you go late to work, Madison or no, Doctor Madison.” Adrian chuckled and she nods her head.

“Yeah, you are right. Please do.” She laughed as she turned back to Zach and winked at him.

“Oh, no! don’t tell me you are going” he whined as he pulled her to himself

“Yes love, I have to go. You know I have been away from work for so long and thanks to you.”

“3 months to be precise, Madison.” Adrian butt in and Zach glared at him.

“Do you have to say it? Where is Krystal anyways?” Zah groaned as he looked around but could not find her around.

“Yeah, where is she? I found Kingsley and Liam only in the living room.” She replied and Zach clicked his tongue.

“Probably she is still in the bathroom, I will go check up on her.” Adrian replied

“Would she be resuming work too today?”

“Yep, she should but I think you will have to go so she won’t delay you” he replied and Madison nods her head

“Great, so you will be sending my own wife away while you spend few more minutes with Krystal?” Zach groaned and Madison laughed out.

“Don’t be childish, I won’t be taking time.” Madison said as she leaned forward to him and pecked his cheeks.

“Yeah, I will come pick you up myself.” Zach replied as she giggled and turned away to leave

“Sure, I do not know my working hours yet, I will let you know anyways, bye love.” She winked at him before she stepped into her car.

“What you looking at?” Zach asked Adrian seeing that he was smiling at her

“Madison, looking pretty in the dress and her car, damn.” He chuckled and Zach grabbed him by his neck tightly

“What the f*ck dude!” he laughed and Madison turned to look at them with a ‘whatcha doing look’

“It’s nothing love, you should get going!” Zach said aloud to her and she smiled before reviving her engine and driving away.

“You have Krystal around, for now. Why don’t you go meet her?” Zach said to him

“Yep, I will in no time. I have in mind to prepare breakfast for her anyways.” He chuckled with a wink at Zach.

“What is that supposed to mean?” Zach replied

“You could not make Madison breakfast, heh.” Adrian laughed as he ran away before Zach could get hold of him.

“Really? You had better run, where is Zane anyways. I have something for us to discuss.” Zach said as he walked back into the room with Adrian ahead of him.

“Zane should be with his girlfriend in his room and Krystal should be preparing to leave for work, what is it?” he replied as he took his seat on one of the couches in the living room.

“It is more like a family talk, I should discuss about this when Madison gets back.” Zach replied as he turned to his right and saw Liam and Kingsley engrossed in a conversation.

“Who knows what these two have been talking about.” Adrian whispered to him

“Yeah, they have been having this conversation before we left, isn’t it?” he replied

"What does it feels like to be gay anyways?” Adrian asked as he turned to Zach who stared at him with a ‘wtf’ look.

“Are you asking me? I could kiss you right now, you beautiful moron.” He rolled his eyes at Adrian before he sat on his couch with a low laugh.

“Great, I am going to find Krystal and f*ck her before she leaves.” Adrian clicked his tongue with a proud look at Zach.

“You know I am going to kill you!” Zach smirked at him

“Go meet Madison bro!”

“Hey, Adrian!” Zach called him

“What?” he replied as he stood in akimbo.

“No sex before marriage.” Zach said to him and Adrian bursts out into laughter.

“I should tell you that, besides you are married already.” Adrian chuckled as he turned away to leave.

As the morning sun cast its warm glow over the city, Madison pulled her car to a halt in the hospital’s parking lot. She stepped out of her car as she adjusted her white doctor's coat and took a deep breath. It was her first day back at the hospital after her whirlwind wedding to Zach, a new chapter in her life that held both excitement and uncertainty.

Madison entered the hospital with a sense of purpose, her footsteps echoing through the familiar hallways she had walked countless times before. As she walked past the bustling nurses' station, she caught glimpses of both new and familiar faces. The hospital staff greeted her with warm smiles and nods, their eyes full of curiosity about her newfound marital bliss.

At the end of the corridor, Madison found herself standing outside her boss's office. Melvin had been her mentor and constant source of support throughout her career, guiding her through the challenges of medicine. She raised her hand and knocked on the door, her knuckles hitting the wood with a resolute thud.

"Come in," a voice called from inside.

Madison pushed open the door and stepped into the office. Melvin, a seasoned doctor nearing retirement, sat behind his cluttered desk, surrounded by stacks of patient files and medical textbooks. Piles of paperweights adorned with quirky objects peppered the desk, displaying his eccentricity.

"Good morning, Dr. Crawford," Madison greeted him with a warm smile. "It's good to be back."

Melvin looked up from his work, taking a moment to fully absorb Madison's presence. His eyes twinkled as he noticed the slight glow on her face, a telltale sign of her recent nuptials. His curiosity got the better of him, and he leaned back in his chair, a playful smile crossing his lips.

"Well, well, Dr. Madison, I see we have a newlywed in our midst," he remarked, his voice laced with intrigue. "Tell me, how was the big day? Any exciting stories to share?"

Madison chuckled softly, her eyes reflecting the joy that engulfed her. "Oh, it was a whirlwind, Dr. Melvin. Zach and I exchanged vows in a small, intimate ceremony. The love and support we received were overwhelming, to say the least."

“And it was so bad to not have you around.” She added and he sighed

“I am sorry, I had to leave the country to attend to a patient, a brain tumor patient.” He replied and she sighed

“Yeah, I was told so. Hope it was a successful one?”

“Always, you know Dr. Melvin.”

“Great, the wedding went well anyways, it is not really newly wedded anymore.” She laughed

Melvin nodded approvingly, his eyes conveying a mix of happiness and concern. "I'm glad to hear that, Madison. Marriage is a beautiful journey, but it also comes with its own set of challenges. Are you prepared for what lies ahead? Especially with Zach having ties to the Mafia."

Madison's smile faltered slightly at the mention of Zach's underground connections. She understood the risks and potential dangers that came with her husband's profession, but she was determined to navigate the complexities, while keeping her medical career separate.

"Dr. Melvin, I am fully aware of the situation. Zach and I have had honest conversations about it, and we are committed to ensuring that my medical work remains unaffected by his involvement," she explained earnestly.

Melvin's stern expression softened, replaced by a knowing gaze. He had seen enough in his years as a doctor to understand the complexities of life outside the hospital walls.

"Madison, I trust your judgment and dedication to your profession. Just remember, the hospital is like a sanctuary, and it's important to keep your personal life separate from your professional one," he advised, his voice filled with wisdom.

Madison nodded, feeling a renewed sense of determination. She was determined to be the best doctor she could be, while also being the supportive wife Zach needed. With Melvin's words echoing in her mind, she felt reassured that she could strike a balance between her roles.

“Yep, thank you.”

“And besides, we are living peacefully with no attacks from anyone.” She replied

“That is great then, good to have you back at work.” He smiled at her as he stretched his hands out at her

“Yeah…..” she laughed awkwardly. Zach was the one that made her leave on a 3 months break from work, he spoke to Melvin about it and he granted him his desires.

“I just hope your husband will not come back and demand another 3 months break.” He laughed

“Nah, I do not think so.” Madison laughed

“I shall go to my office now, see you around.” She said to him as she turned to leave.

As Madison left Melvin's office and made her way through the busy hospital corridors, she knew that she had a new chapter awaiting her – one that held both excitement and challenges. With the support of her colleagues, including her trusted mentor Melvin, Madison was ready to face whatever lay ahead, both in her professional and personal life.
