“So, you two are a couple now?” Anita asked.
After waking up in the morning, Jazmine and Anita were the only ones left in the cottage. A note was left on the table in the living room saying that Liam had left for some business. Jazmine thought it was a nice chance for her to have a heart-to-heart conversation with Anita.
“I don’t...know yet….” Jazmine said sheepishly.
“I’m sorry that I kept too many secrets from you,” Anita said. “It’s just hard to tell other people about it.”
“Confidentiality, right?”
Anita nodded. “We were not supposed to say anything about our pack to anyone even if we already left the pack. But if Liam already told you a thing or two, it should be alright. After all, he’s the Beta.”
Liam paced back and forth as Zidane read the file he had recovered during his investigation. Some files were telling the details about Jazmine and the fact that she wasn’t a human. But there was no telling what kind of species she was. Apparently, the real mission of June Lab was to replicate Jazmine’s DNA. After an experiment went wrong, Jazmine was sent to her uncle, Richard Diaz. This was like the fifteenth time he had read the file, as if the information on the paper would change in each reading. Liam couldn’t stop thinking that Jazmine was actually the daughter of Valentino Darragh, who mysteriously had gone missing since the war with Angel of Death and Knights of Death. Liam thought there was another person named Valentino Darragh. He didn’t expect it to be the same Valentino Darragh that his Alpha pair had spent months trying to track down. The only re
Liam and Cohen rested inside an abandoned ship in the shipyard. Cohen checked the map he had marked to make sure they didn’t miss a point. From the look of it, the place was almost deserted. There was no sign of life except for the few cars that came and went from the shipyard. “It’s weird to see this,” Cohen said, pointing to the ugly lines he marked on the map. Those lines were the directions of the cars that came and went. The more he looked at it, the more he thought the shipyard was more than just a shipyard. The cars stopped at the largest abandoned ship in the middle of the shipyard. Liam looked at him briefly before another group of cars arrived in the shipyard. This time, they stopped in front of the large ship. They dragged someone who was tied and the head was hidden by a black bag.
“Okay, this is what we have so far,” Cohen said as he laid out the map on the table. He began to explain the points one by one, making sure everyone was able to fully grasp the situation. Cohen knew that they couldn’t directly go for a full attack as they didn’t know anything about their enemy. Their only best lead was to look at the big ship in the shipyard and hopefully to find a clue where the entrance would be. “We will move out soon. Please brief your Enforcers,” Cohen said. “Yes, of course.” Zidane agreed. “My Enforcers are ready to leave with you as soon as you give the word, Alpha.” All the Alphas and Beta left the office. Liam sat down by the bench, watching the Alphas briefing the Enforcers. Liam’s hands were trembling on his thighs as fear grew inside of h
“YOU’RE LYING!” Jazmine screamed at the top of her lungs as she lunged herself towards Rowan. He laughed sadistically as he took a step back faster than her step forward. The door slid closed and Jazmine bumped against the cold door. She cried her heart out as she slid down to the floor. There was no way it was true that she was the killer of her own mother. What kind of a daughter would she be if her mother died in her hands? Jazmine stared at the paused video on the wall. She had ignored Richard’s warning about using the power of her hands. Now, she had killed a woman who gave birth to her. “Dad, what have I done?” Jazmine sobbed on the floor. Rowan walked smugly out of the block and headed to his office, not far from there where he could monitor Jazmine through ma
Jay was sitting in the living room of his villa on top of the building. When he came to rescue Liam earlier, he knew he would attract attention to himself. But it didn’t matter. Jazmine was captured by the mercenaries and he would do everything he could to find her. He listened to the footsteps coming outside his villa. He opened his eyes and smiled before the front door was kicked open and three dozen mercenaries rushed in with big guns. Then next thing he knew, someone hit him with a blunt object and everything else was just blackness. When he woke up, he was inside a car with a black bag over his head. He didn’t know where they were taking him but it felt like they had gone off-road for a while. He chuckled as he looked at the camera on the ceiling. His hands were cuffed by a special bracelet that sealed his power. His plan might look stupid but he got whe
Liam growled when he heard the name Rowan Robinson as his sister’s mate. He didn’t expect that. To be honest, he didn’t expect any of these. He was supposed to have fun with Jazmine and Anita on their summer vacation. Instead, this happened. “I’m sorry to tell you this way,” River said apologetically. “Anita didn’t even want anyone to know. She was completely broken. Bryan and I were left to pick up her broken pieces.” Liam ran his fingers in his hair. If River didn’t tell him anything, he wouldn’t have known about Anita and her mate. She never mentioned anything to him and that was why he didn’t suspect anything bad happened to her. He thought everything went well. It seemed he didn’t know his sister that much anymore. “We did our best but we weren’t sure if she’s fixed,” River continued.
“Sir, we have to evacuate now. The facility is collapsing!” A man shouted after he pulled Rowan from falling into the fire as his office collapsed. Rowan couldn’t believe that Anita used blood magic to create an explosion. He thought she was just a mere werewolf who got involved with the wrong people. Rowan’s legs stopped moving as his hand reached for the electronic pad from the security. The live feed installed around the shipyard showed that the daemons were working with the pack and making their way there. Yet, there wasn’t any slightest fear visible on Rowan’s face as his lips stretched in a wicked smile. “Initiate ‘House Cleaning’ protocol,” he instructed as he returned the electronic pad to the same security who nodded in return. Rowan walked again. “Your transport is ready, sir.”
Blue shield covered Jay’s body as he pushed his way out of the debris. He had overused his power, and it was taking a toll on him, but he had to find Anita before the facility collapsed completely. When he met Anita, he knew she knew something about Jazmine and played with a double-edged sword. Anita had to keep her enemy close to protect her best friend. Jazmine was never in witness protection. Those bodyguards outside her home were there to monitor her movement to make sure she didn’t run away, or someone took her away. If Jay weren’t careful one night, his life would have ended in the hands of his enemy. But Anita found him and saved his life, making him indebted to her. After he trusted Anita, who risked everything to protect Jazmine, he revealed everything to Anita and why he always kept his eyes on Jazmine. From there, Anita suggested they kept doing it without making any changes. Anita was willing
