Chapter 3: Counter Attack

Everyone in the company finally got to see Sherly, and they were surprised to see her so much like Hideous. Though she's not as strick-looking as her father, she had this kind of aura that is the same for all the Montenegrin siblings. Besides, not only that, when they even saw Kyle go into his father's office, they finally understood that there might be something that happened that made them gather here. For some reason, even if they know that it was because of those stupid people who scolded Keisley for no concrete evidence, they are still happy to see them together.

It's not like they could see them whenever they wanted. It is either Keisley alone, Kyle alone, or Keisley and Kyle without Sherly. Well, Sherly doesn't go that often to her father's office in the daylight, but she visits him whenever she's free at night.

Mr. Park saw that as soon as everyone arrived in the Hideous office, they did not come out, and when one of the PR departments from Kyle's company called him, he finally got to know the main reason for their little meeting. Since it's been like this, he should tell them about it.

Mr. Park hesitated at the threshold of the office, his expression grave as he observed the tense atmosphere within. Taking a deep breath to steady himself, he entered the room, his eyes darting between the assembled members of the Montenegro family.

Mr. Park is so sure that no one in the family is currently looking at their phones. Well, none of them are really opening their phones whenever they're in a meeting or something. After all, they are all focused on their own way.

Mr. Park knocked three times before. "Mr. Montenegro, I'm afraid there's an urgent matter that requires your attention," he began, his voice measured yet tinged with concern.

Why wouldn't he? He knows Keisley, and even though he's bubbly and always loves to create trouble in tiny matters, even though he is a mysterious one, he's not this kind of jerk who wouldn't take responsibility. However, he also knows that if he says that he did not do something, then he did not. Meaning, if Kiesley strongly denied this, then it really isn't his doing.

Hideous, his brow furrowed in consternation, regarded his secretary with a steely gaze. "What is it, Mr. Park?" he demanded, his tone commanding attention.

Everyone in the room is looking at Mr. Park, but Mr. Park's eyes are only focused on their father, Hideous.

Mr. Park cleared his throat nervously before delivering the unsettling news. He glanced at Keisley first before starting. "It appears that an online smear campaign has been launched against Keisley," he explained, his words hanging heavily in the air. "Someone has spread false accusations, alleging that he refuses to take responsibility for Miss Elisia's child."

Everyone's jaw dropped after a collective gasp rippled through the room as the weight of the situation dawned on the Montenegro family.

As Keisley heard this, his fists clenched in frustration and he erupted in a burst of indignation. "This is absurd!" he exclaimed, his voice laced with anger. His eyes filled with anger. "How am I supposed to take responsibility for a child that doesn't even exist? Elisia and I never had any involvement!"

Hideous exchanged a meaningful glance with Sherly, silently acknowledging the severity of the situation. It seems like their talk with Jude Lim isn't as effective as they thought it would be. "We need to address this immediately," he declared, his tone resolute. "Keisley's reputation is at stake, and we won't let these baseless accusations tarnish his name."

Sherly glanced at her brother, and when she saw that her brother was sooner or later going to snap with his personality, she knew he wouldn't be able to keep his calm. With a determined expression, she held a tablet in her hand while raising an eyebrow.

"Dad, I think we need to deal with this matter like you said, as soon as possible," Sherly announced, her tone urgent.

Hideous looked up from his work, his gaze locking onto his daughter's resolute expression. "What is it, Sherly?" he inquired, setting aside the papers before him.

Her father is really scary when he is not in the mood. Not only that, when he is looking like he wants to kill someone, this sends a shiver down Sherly's spine. How come she did not feel this kind of shiver when he was in the underworld?

Sherly did not let her fear towards her father go and wasted no time getting to the point. "If it is all about Keisley," she began, her voice firm. "I think we needed to do something different. I've just read the latest articles online, and it's clear that Elisia is behind this smear campaign against him."

Hideous leaned forward, his interest piqued. He read the article that his daughter is reading, as Mr. Park said in the news. "Are you sure?" he asked, his brows furrowing in concern.

Sherly nodded emphatically. "Absolutely," she affirmed. "If Elisia wants to play dirty, then we need to fight back strategically." He sighed and looked at her brother. "This is your fault for not having your lawyer send over the evidence to those media companies and sue them for defamation. And we can't forget about our own social media platforms—we need to start releasing the evidence to clear Keisley's name."

Sherly isn't the type of person who lets people get away for what they did. If they did something horrible to her, she'll pay them back. With this kind of woman, she will make sure that she'll pay for the price.

Hideous listened intently to his daughter's plan, impressed by her astuteness. He leaned back into his chair, put his hands on his stomach, and looked at his daughter. "That's a bold strategy, Sherly," he remarked, a glimmer of pride in his eyes. "But it just might work. Let's gather the evidence and take decisive action to protect Keisley's reputation."

Sherly nodded in agreement, her resolve unwavering. "We'll make sure Elisia's lies don't tarnish our family's name," she vowed, her voice tinged with determination.

Hideous rose from his seat. Since it comes to this, then he should protect his son. Even though he's mischievous, he never really disappoints him.

His expression was determined as he addressed his sons. "Kyle, Keisley," he began, his voice commanding attention. The two men both looked at their father at the same time. "I need you both to stay quiet about this. Understand?" Both Kyle and Keisley nodded their heads as they knew what to do. "Kyle, take Keisley to our secure house, the one we don't use normally. Make sure he stays away from his phone."

Kyle nodded in understanding, his jaw set with determination. "Got it, Dad," he replied, already moving to usher Keisley out of the room.

Keisley followed his brother obediently, his mind swirling with a mix of frustration and anxiety. He knew he could trust his father's judgment, but the weight of the situation weighed heavily on his shoulders. He doesn't want to trouble them, and he doesn't want them to be in this kind of situation as well.

After Kyle and Keisley, there's only Sherly, Hideous, and Mr. Park inside the room.

Turning his attention to his loyal secretary, Hideous issued a series of orders. "Mr. Park, contact Attorney Martinez immediately. Tell him to prepare the necessary legal documents to send to those media outlets. And make sure Mr. Lim and Miss Lim receive a copy as well."

Mr. Park nodded briskly, his fingers already flying across his phone screen to relay the instructions to the legal team. Well, he knows what kind of person Attorney Martinez is. When it comes to cyber libel, he'll never lose a case. That's also one of the reasons why he was hired by Hideous as his attorney.

"Furthermore," Hideous continued, his voice unwavering. He seems to be not letting the others have a way out. "Inform Mr. Shen from PR that we'll be releasing the evidence systematically through M Group's social media channels. I'll do the same with my official accounts."

Mr. Park absorbed each directive with precision; his efficiency is a testament to his years of service. "Understood, sir," he responded crisply, before swiftly exiting the room to carry out his tasks.

Hideous isn't the type of father who will let his son suffer. Thus, he did this.

With his instructions delivered, Hideous took a moment to collect his thoughts, steeling himself for the battle ahead. He knew that protecting his family's reputation would require swift and decisive action, and he was ready to lead the charge.
