Chapter 8: Asking for Permission

As the evening arrived, Sherly found herself alone in her room, the soft glow of lamplight casting shadows across the walls. Well, she's not really a fan of the dark since she was young, and now, even though she is old enough, she still can't sleep at night when it's too dark. She sat on the edge of her bed, her thoughts drifting to George, the warmth of his embrace, and the comfort of his presence.

With a heavy sigh, she reached for her phone, her fingers tracing the familiar contours as she scrolled through her messages. There's no new message yet. As she stared at the screen, a pang of loneliness washed over her, a reminder of George's absence and the longing that gnawed at her heart.

How long has it been since she had a proper conversation with George? It's been a day. Yes, a day. Since she was so busy, she couldn't help but sigh and miss him. Well, she couldn't help it since she had a lot of work, and it seems like he has too.
