17. DAISY

I shouldn’t have said that.

My face was on fire from embarrassment. In my head, things had gone a lot different, much smoother.

“Forget I said anything,” I muttered as I spun around and hurried back to my room.

I kicked the door closed behind me and hurried towards the nest where I could hide for the rest of the day. Just as I pulled the secret book back, my bedroom door opened.

“We haven’t finished our conversation, Daisy,” Elias growled.

“You don’t want it so it doesn’t matter.”

“I didn’t say that. You just caught me off guard.” He frowned. “I didn’t expect you to walk up to me and tell me that you want me to take your virginity. I certainly didn’t expect you to actually take up Alex’s offer.”

“It’s the closest I’ll ever get to experience things girls my age do,” I told him honestly. “You seem to be sure that John won’t have the money in a month.”
