Alpha Anson
He had been held up longer than he had wanted to be; mostly because he was still busy fixing the fuck-ups that Bernadette had created with her greed and selfishness. He made sure that the whole pack knew that she would not be tolerated on this pack territory and started slowly correcting her years of stealing from the pack.
He knew it would take a small fortune to correct the damage she had done. But he also knew that once everything was as they should be, they would all save money in the long run. She’d raised the rent for the family homes more than fifteen percent every year to fund her spending. Then she had cut budgets in running the pack properly as well. He had been a horrible alpha not to notice the damage she had been doing to his pack.
Finally he had set one of the omegas to work on cataloging and researching prices on the bags, shoes and brand named clothes he had forced Bernadette to leave behind.
Alpha AnsonHe knew that Ember was very precise about her surroundings and nothing annoyed her more than someone touching her things and moving it around. He almost grinned with amusement when he saw her stomp her foot, crossing her arms over her chest when the guy by the couch stepped forward and gently guided her towards the couch and gently pushed her into the seat.He turned his attention back to the young alpha. “What do you mean by communication?” He asked; turning serious again, since he knew this had to be important.“We’ve been suspicious of Mr. Waylon and Ember was helping us to
Alpha AnsonHe felt even more like a failure when he drove away from the academy without Ember. He had failed her as a guardian if she had felt that she couldn’t be herself around him or tell him everything that had been done to her. He hadn’t even known that some of the pups had bullied her. When he pulled to a stop in front of the pack house, there was a welcoming party waiting for Ember. Most of the household and garden staff, some guards were waiting, as well as Ilene and even Tom. There was a measure of excitement in their patience and he felt horrible, when he stepped out of the car alone and their faces fell at the realization that Ember was not with him.
EmberIt had been three weeks since Alpha Anson had agreed that she could finish the last few months she had left of schooling at the academy. She got twice weekly deliveries from Mrs. Thomas, the container was always heavy with treats and the three males from Bane pack always insisted on carrying it. But she suspected they were just as excited about the delivery as she was.Mrs. Thomas made the best treats, and she suspected she was sending so many treats because Alpha Anson had informed her of the three males hanging around her room all the time. The last thing she needed was them staying in her dorm because of the snacks. After all, feeding wild animals meant they’d always come back for more.
AshShe was late. She’s never late.He felt nervous and from the fidgeting Leo was doing, so was he. Oliver was scrolling through his phone, probably reading some article or doing research for something, but even he had a frown creasing his brow. That was the most he would do to show his discomfort to those who knew him; he was a master at a deadpan expression.Glancing at his watch, he noticed she was ten minutes late. Well, not late, but later than usual. They were usually at school pretty early, but she hadn’t shown up yet.
Alpha AnsonFor the past three weeks, he and Tom had started working on righting everything that Ember had given them information on. They had first opened the second hand brand name and vintage store in the city, calling it Treasured Elegance, and it was making a killing. They had more than enough stock to start with and soon people came in with the certified brand name items and vintage clothes and shoes that they had no use for. The grand opening had been a resounding success and they had made a few thousand in the first couple of hours alone. They had a team of four working under Jade’s lead and she was
EmberWaking up, she felt strange, she felt claustrophobic, like the room she was in was too small. She realized she seemed to be in a pack hospital room, but she didn’t know this hospital. She could hear wolves walking around outside and the faint mutter of voices. She knew this was a pack hospital, since it was much more up to date than the one at River Ash and any she had seen off pack grounds. The lighting seemed too bright, but she was sure the migraine had made her eyes and ears extra sensitive. Sitting up, she found an IV in her arm and she frowned at it with confusion, the bag at the other end of the IV was empty.
AshThey had finally gone home late the previous night when Dr. Victor had informed them that she was stable, but that they would need to run some tests when she woke, since he had no idea what was happening to her.He was up early to visit her, knowing that she wouldn’t know where she was when she woke up. And if he knew anything about Ember from watching her these last few weeks, he knew that she needed to be in control of her surroundings. He understood it was her way to feel like she had some control in this world after everything she had been put through and he knew she would be scared when she woke up
EmberThe trio’s teasing was making her so angry, but for some reason she was doubly angry. As if there was another entity being angry with her, especially when Leo said she’d be an adorable puppy the size of a handbag dog. It always angered her when he called her tiny or small, but this time it was downright insulting! At that moment there was a sudden surge of rage that tore through her and shot out to every small cell in her body and she would have screamed at the sudden and overpowering agony that shot through her, but it was over so fast that all she could do was just lie there panting at the sudden release from pain and how entirely exhausted she was.
