Ash
“What do you mean you got a message about Ember?” His father asked with a raised eyebrow.
“I got a message from an unknown number. It simply read that they knew where to find the princess and I should stand by for intel on how to take down the entire compound.” He answered, while selecting the image that was surprisingly still in his messages. Then he connected to the projector in the room and showed them the now clearly hand drawn blueprint that was pretty well done for something that was clearly done by hand.
“What is this?” The king asked with interest.
“I think this is the blue print for the compound that they mentioned. I think we should take this seriously, Your Highness.”
“We don’t know if it’s a trap.” His father answered obstinately.
“We also don’t know if it’s legit.” Ash answered.
EmberShe had managed to take a shower, with Nova assisting her out of the evening gown and helping with the water settings and some clothes she could wear. Apparently the crazy wolf had already decided on her wardrobe and had filled it with “frilly nineteen fifties pinup dresses”, according to Nova’s descriptions. She was grateful that Nova was helping her, since she felt useless being blind. She had just finished brushing her teeth after getting dressed in a nightgown. Nova had given her the slip nightgown and told her it was the best she could do, since the others were meant to entice a male. That didn’t bode well for her future. She fumbled a little to find the right place to put the toothbrush down before she drank some water from the tap. “Incoming!” Lume warned a moment before the door unlocked and closed behind someone. The scent of Balor infiltrated the bathroom a m
AshHe woke with a roar of pain and rage when he felt Ember’s attack. He knew instantly that she was being beaten. He hated himself for giving that bastard enough time to steal his mate and he hated himself even more for failing her by not getting to her on time. What else did that bastard have in store for her?Once the pain subsided somewhat he knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep anymore and he left their room and went to the training field, there he took to beating out his frustrations on one of the heavy bags. The movement and the strain did nothing to soothe his ire and frustration, but it kept him from going completely feral at that moment, so it was something. He spun round when he heard someone approach and he found Leo walking to him, looking just as frustrated as he was. Without a word, he got into the ring and held his hand up, silently beckoning him to fight him. Ash did just that and together they fought
Nova*TW: mention of physical abuse and the after effects*She could hear the beating coming through the thin walls and she flinched every time she heard his fists hit its mark. She knew from experience that he wasn’t pulling any of his punches and the princess was going to hurt so much afterwards. She didn’t wish this life on anyone and she hoped the wolf she had sent the information to would keep his word, since she didn’t want the princess to end up like her mother had been in the dungeons when she had been brought here. She knew he would have his sole focus on his reluctant bride to ‘train’ her, which just meant beating her into submission. But suddenly the beating stopped and Nova returned to scrubbing the floor on her hands and knees like she’d been doing before he had started beating the princess. She winced when he slammed the bedroom door behind him, still in a rage.No
AshHe could barely eat during the breakfast, while everyone made small talk to catch up on what Prince Cornelius had learned in Europe. He had apparently gone there to learn from other werewolf kingdoms and to find his mate.According to him, she was a princess from Germany and had returned with him when she’d heard that he had a cousin and that she had been kidnapped. Ash simply forced himself to shovel down food, since he knew he needed his full strength if he intended to bring his mate home on his own. He just knew this was going to be another long, drawn-out discussion with too much diplomacy.None of their mates were abducted and being held prisoner. Finally once the breakfast was cleared away in the war room, they finally seemed to get themselves situated with coffee to discuss the whole situation. By this time, Ash was already pacing the floor behind his chair, trying to contain both his rage and Blaze.H
EmberThe mood was somber while Nova assisted her to get ready the next morning. They knew they had no way of stalling anymore or getting away before the ceremony. And the hope that her ‘helper’ would come through was also not a given.Thankfully some of her wounds had healed somewhat from the previous night, thanks to the protein bar, but Nova didn’t sound pleased when she checked them, saying that her healing was still pretty slow. Despite Nova’s attempts to help her, she still felt starved.Ember added another tick to her being a failure as a wolf. She wasn’t fast or healed as fast as others, even with extra protein. She also didn’t have the hearing and other senses that other wolves had. She was a mediocre wolf at best.“Hey! There is nothing wrong with us, aside from the fact that we haven’t had the same time to forge our connection that other wolves had!&rd
AshHe was still pissed when he stalked out of the castle; knowing that the king preached protecting his newly found niece and yet would not take the chance to save her. There was no way he could ever trust him saying those words again. Clearly it was nothing more than lip service, which he should have expected of the king who always tried diplomacy first. If – no – when he got Ember back he would personally see to her protection and would never trust her safety at the hands of her uncle again. Thankfully the message he had received from the informant was actually the coordinates to where the compound was and a time they needed to attack to save her.He sent it to Oliver, who was obviously instantly using satellite images to scope out the sight for their mutiny meeting where they would discuss their plans. At least they had his car here, so they could use it without question; they would just have to make a big show about storm
Alpha AnsonHe’d been worried about Ember since she’d been taken; the only person keeping him even vaguely sane was his newly found mate. Actually, she was his long-time lover who turned out to have hidden her true worth from him in a bid to protect his sanity while he had been married to Bernadette.Of course, it also helped to keep his mind off things when he had to take care of her after she had exhausted herself using every effort and spell she knew in an attempt to find Ember. But somehow there seemed to be some kind of spell protecting Ember from being found by magic. He was terrified for Ember, but he had his newly marked mate to focus some of his attention on, who also helped endlessly to soothe him. Something the young alpha from Bane pack did not have the luxury of.Everyone knew that Ember had newly marked him directly after the moon dance, just like he had marked Grizelda after she showed her true worth to him aft
LeoHe knew he was playing both sides of the game when he agreed to help Alpha Anson by sharing info, but he wanted to protect both his alpha and his baby sister and to do that they needed more players in this game. They were a good team, but with nothing really being clear about the compound they would be charging into, he would feel better if they had more players in the battle. No matter how good they were they would be unsuccessful if they were severely outnumbered. If Charlotte’s weapons were as good as Oliver believed they were, then they had the slightest advantage despite their numbers. But it was not a big enough advantage for him to feel comfortable with charging the compound with a fifteen-strong team.Balor had not come this far with his plans and machinations without having wolves in his team and the fact that the witches were unable to scry for Ember proved that he might have some assistance from witches or warlocks, too.&nb
