I sat in my chamber, sipping my morning tea, and waited for Cane's mother to join me. It was our special time, just the two of us, and I always looked forward to it.

But as the minutes ticked by, I began to feel a growing sense of unease. Cane's mother was always punctual, and it wasn't like her to be late.
