AVA

As soon as we finished with the morning work, Elara and I closed up the itinerary, tidying up the workspace.

Just as we were about to take a break, Jake walked in, a serious expression on his face. He approached me, holding out an envelope.

"Ava, I need to give you this," he said, his voice neutral. "It's from Alpha Cane. He wanted me to make sure you got it."

My heart skipped a beat as I took the envelope from Jake. I recognized Cane's seal on the wax stamp, and a flutter of excitement ran through me.

I opened the envelope, and a wad of cash fell out, along with a letter.

As I unfolded the letter, Cane's familiar handwriting stared back at me.

The words were brief, but they spoke volumes. "Use this to buy whatever you need," the letter said. "I want to make sure you're taken care of."

I felt a surge of emotions as I read the words. Cane was thinking of me, even when he was busy with his duties as Alpha.

The gesture was thoughtful, and it touched my heart.

I looked up at Jake,

  • Claws Of Fate   Chapter 77

LEAHI was becoming impatient, my foot tapping nervously on the floor. Alpha Cane had been unconscious for far too long, and I was starting to worry that the potion was stronger than I had anticipated. What if he didn't wake up at all? What if… NO I shouldn't think of negativity. But then, suddenly, his eyes flickered open. He looked up at me, and a slow smile spread across his face. My heart skipped a beat as our eyes met, and for a moment, I forgot about the plan."Hey," he said, his voice low and husky. "What am I doing here?"I smiled back at him, trying to play it cool. "You were tired," I said. "You needed some rest."But then, I decided to take a chance. I leaned in close to him, my voice barely above a whisper. "To be honest, I just miss you," I said. "I want to spend more time with you."I watched his face, trying to gauge his reaction. Would he be repulsed? Would he be indifferent? Or would he...Cane's eyes locked onto mine, and he reached out to hold my face. His touch s

LEAHI smiled as I saw Cane sleeping on the floor, the potion working its magic. I quickly lifted him up and placed him on the bed, making sure he was comfortable. He looked so peaceful, so vulnerable.Just as I was finishing up, I heard a knock at the door. It was Ken, and he looked urgent. "I need to speak to Alpha Cane," he said, his voice firm.I stood my ground, blocking the doorway. "I'm afraid that's not possible," I said, trying to sound calm. "Alpha Cane is resting and doesn't want to be disturbed."Ken's expression turned skeptical. "What's going on?" he asked. "Is everything okay?"I nodded, trying to reassure him. "Everything's fine," I said. "Alpha Cane just needs some rest. He's been working too hard lately."Ken looked unconvinced, but he didn't push the issue. "I'll come back later," he said. "But please, make sure Alpha Cane knows that I need to speak with him urgently."I nodded, smiling sweetly. "I'll make sure he knows," I said.As Ken left, I couldn't help but fee

CANEAs I entered her room, I saw her sitting on the couch, a look of innocence on her face. But I knew better. I knew that she might be hiding something."Leah," I said, my voice firm. "We need to talk."She looked up at me, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "What is it, Cane?" she asked, her voice sweet.I smiled, my eyes locked on hers. "Don't play games with me, Leah," I said. "I know what's going on. And I want to know everything."As I looked at her, I saw a mask of innocence on her face, a look of genuine concern in her eyes. For a moment, I wondered if I had misjudged her."What's wrong, Cane?" she asked, her voice soft and gentle.I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. "I'm looking for Alex," I said, my voice firm. "Have you seen him?"Leah's expression didn't change, and she shook her head. "No, I haven't seen him," she said. "What's going on?"I studied her face, trying to read her emotions. But she seemed genuinely puzzled. "Alex is a traitor," I said, my voice

CANEI waited patiently for Ken to return, but he seemed to be taking longer than expected. I paced back and forth in my office, my mind racing with thoughts of what could be keeping him. Ava sat on the couch, her eyes fixed on the floor.Suddenly, she looked up at me, a hint of disappointment in her eyes. "I want to go back," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.I stopped pacing and turned to her, my heart sinking. "Go back where?" I asked, trying to keep my tone neutral."To my pack," she replied, her voice firm. "I have a family there, it's right I return soon. I miss being part of something bigger than myself."I felt a pang of sadness, knowing that I couldn't bear the thought of her leaving. "Wait," I said, holding up my hand. "I want to talk to you about this."But Ava shook her head, her eyes flashing with determination. "I don't want to talk, Cane," she said. "Especially not about Leah."I raised an eyebrow, surprised by her tone. "What's wrong with Leah?" I asked, tryi

LEAHI quickened my pace, my heart pounding in my chest. I knew I had to act fast, to silence Ken before he could reveal my secret. I ducked into a nearby alleyway, my eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of Ken.As I waited, I couldn't help but think about the love potion. I had been saving it for a special occasion, and now seemed like the perfect time to use it. Cane was already vulnerable, what with Ava's return and everything that had happened. The potion would ensure that he would be mine, completely and utterly mine.I smiled to myself, feeling a sense of satisfaction. Ken would be taken care of, and Cane would be under my control. It was the perfect plan.As I waited for Ken to make his move, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. I was taking control of my destiny, and nothing was going to stand in my way. Not even Ava.I saw Ken approaching, his eyes scanning the area nervously. I smiled, my heart pounding with anticipation. It was time to take care of him, and t

LEAHI sat in my chambers, my anger and frustration simmering just below the surface. I couldn't believe that Ava was alive and back, and that Cane was so taken with her. I had thought that I had finally won, that I had finally secured my place in Cane's heart. But now, it seemed like everything was being threatened.I sent for Alex, my messenger hurrying off to fetch him. I paced back and forth in my room, my mind racing with thoughts of Ava and Cane. How could he be so blind to her charms? Didn't he see that she was manipulating him, using her wiles to get what she wanted? Now she was a fucking princess.Alex arrived, his face flushed with exertion. "You sent it to me?" he asked, his voice hesitant.I nodded, my eyes narrowing. "You saw her too, didn't you?" I asked, my voice low.Alex nodded, his eyes darting back and forth. "Yes, I saw her," he said. "I'm not sure what happened, but she seemed...different."I raised an eyebrow, my anger simmering just below the surface. "Differe
