Two Years Later

“What the hell?” Luke screamed in anger and disgust as soon as he stepped into the dorm he shared with Sam.

A redhead chick was lying on the bed, with her two legs raised upwards as Sam furiously thrust in and out of her at a quickened pace, the room was filled with their moans.

Both Sam and the redhead jolted in shock as Luke yelled, Sam lost his balance and fell to the floor. The redhead quickly got to her feet and picked up her clothes on the floor.

Luke looked away, as both Sam and the redhead struggled into their clothes.

Luke has consistently warned Sam not to bring his hookups into their dorm but he never listened. Even after begging and agreeing he wouldn't do it again, he'd still bring them. And then he'll beg again… and when Luke forgives, he does it again…

That boy!

The girl didn't wait to dress properly before she stormed out of the door in utter shame.

“Sam!” Luke was ready to lash out in fury.

“Look, I'm sorry…” Sam began.

“You're sorry?” Luke asked in disbelief, his anger evident. “This is the umpteenth time you're apologizing! What the hell is wrong with you? Why can't you just respect me as a friend and roommate?”

He didn't give a dime about the girls Sam hooked up with, all he cared about was for him not to bring them back into their dorm, that was all he was asking!

How is it so hard for this boy not to obey simple rules? Luke wondered in annoyance.

“Okay, okay,” Sam said apologetically in remorse. Since he'd been sharing a dorm with Luke, Sam knew him all too well. They were best friends, Luke barely got mad, but when he did, things always got messy. And right now, Sam knew Luke was as mad as hell. “I won't do it again. I promise.”

“Oh yeah? You won't do it again? You promise?” Luke retorted in anger, “That’s like the thousandth time you're saying that!”

“This one would be the last time.” Sam muttered in shame, “I won't do it again.”

“You'd better!” Luke threw back, “Because next time this happens, I'm reporting you to Richard and you'll be out of my dorm for good.”

Richard was the dorm’s resident advisor.

But Sam knew Luke wouldn't be as heartless as doing that even though he said it himself, they've been best friends since their freshman year, and now they're in their sophomore year, they're still as tight as two peas in a pod.

“Yes sir,” Sam smiled, revealing a small set of sparkling fangs, “I've heard you.”

Luke didn't reply but walked back to his desk and sat down, switching on the lamp, he began to flip open his textbooks.

He genuinely hoped that Sam wouldn't do that again. He was just bluffing when he said that he'll report him, aside from Sam, he can't even imagine the thought of sharing dorms with someone else.

Sam has grown on him.

Two years ago, when he was still struggling with depression after Liam's hypocrisy and betrayal, he called his uncle… who was his favorite… and told him all about what happened and how his parents now treated him as if he wasn't in existence.

Luke told him he wanted to come live with him down there in Miami. His uncle was the first person who accepted him for who he actually was without judgment.

He was still the same sweet Luke he was, no matter his sexual preference.

His parents were glad to be rid of him when his uncle offered to raise him. His uncle made flight preparations and in no time, Luke joined him, glad to be out of that small city that made him feel less of a human.

With his uncle's help, preparations were made and he got into college. With his uncle's support and endless love, he made a bold step to let everyone know he was gay.

His uncle became the father he never had.

Two years have passed and Liam is now a shadow of the past, he still thinks of him occasionally though and wonders what he was doing with his life but that was where it ended. That didn't stop the fact that he still despised him.

Due to Liam's betrayal, Luke has refused to give love a chance, afraid he might get broken again, even though many guys in school had shown interest in him.

Even the resident advisor, Richard, who happened to be a gay guy had also asked him out but he had declined.

His focus was to go to class, study and pass with flying colors.

“You've forgiven me, right?” Sam asked, putting his arms around Luke's neck, as he leaned against him.

Sam's hot breath bristled against Luke's neck and she shivered.

“Let go of me, dumbass!” He groaned.

“Not after you I know you've forgiven me.” Sam voiced, still not ready to let go.

Luke knew he wouldn't let go if he didn't say what he wanted him to say.

“Okay, okay!” He cried out, “I've forgiven you! Now get the hell off me, you dumbass!”

“You're the best!” Sam complimented, planting a kiss on the side of Luke's neck. Luke stiffened.

He had told Sam to stop doing that. One would think they're both in a relationship or something. Truthfully, Sam always does the gayest things.

One time, he had gotten drunk and wanted to cuddle with Luke because Luke gave him ‘warmth’.

Another time, he couldn't watch a show merely because Luke wasn't around.

Luke had always wondered if Sam was secretly gay but if not for the countless times, he'd seen Sam having sex with girls and checking them out when they passed, he'd have believed he was.

“I've told you to stop doing that!” He yelled irritably, shrugging Sam off him.

“Sorry bro,” Sam chuckled a bit, “Force of habit.”

“I'm trying to read here, buddy, do you mind?” Luke glared at him.

Sam crossed his arms across his chest and regarded Luke thoughtfully, leaning against his desk, “Why don't you ever wanna have fun? Why are you always buried in books?”

“Because I'm not here to have fun, I'm here to learn,” Luke replied, flipping over his textbook.

“This is college bruh. You only experience it once in a lifetime,” Sam stated, not getting a reply from Luke, he went further, “Okay, why do you refuse to date? You don't even hook up with someone since I knew you!”

“Jesus, Sam, I'm trying to study here!” Luke let out exasperatedly.

“Is it because of that asshole? What was his name again? Lucas? Lucien? Whatever, to hell with him, he was an asshole, don't let his betrayal hinder your happiness.” Sam said. Being Luke's best friend, he knew literally everything about his life, and vice versa. “Richard is a great guy, he likes you and I think you like him too, so why don't you give him a chance? Huh?”

Sam was right, Luke did have feelings for Richard but was scared of getting into a relationship because he wasn't ready for another betrayal and heartbreak.

But no way in hell was he going to admit it.

“You know what? I have a great idea if you think Richard is that a great guy, why don't you date him instead?” Luke beamed mockingly at Sam.

“Ugh!” Sam sighed helplessly, rubbing his forehead in a resigned manner.

“Now, if you don't mind, please, leave me the hell alone?” Luke begged and Sam threw up his hands in resignation, leaning off the desk.

“Whatever you say, Bookworm.” He moved to the door.

“Thank you.”

“I won't be back tonight,” Sam announced, grinning, “I'll be having a threesome tonight.”

“Good luck.” Luke mouthed, drowning himself in his books.

As Sam left, a growing determination burned in his chest. He wasn't going to give up on Luke, not yet.

Four Lovely Years Later “I swear to God, Mary, if we miss this wedding, I'm never gonna forgive you!” Anthony growled through gritted teeth, “For how long are you gonna do your makeup for God's sake?!” “Oh, please!” Mary waved him off with a slight roll of her eyes, “Let a woman wear her makeup in peace. Besides, we still have like an hour before the event begins, and also, Megan is there. She'll probably be recording the entire thing on her phone, so even if we miss it, we'll watch it on her phone.” “I want to be there, Mary,” Anthony said, “I don't want to watch my son's wedding through some phone screen.” “Then exercise some patience,” Mary said, applying some lip gloss on her lips, smacking them and then pouting. She scrutinized her already-styled hair through the mirror and then turned. “I feel like the hair is not that, you know, well styled.” She turned to Anthony, “What do you think?” Anthony knew that if he said just one wrong thing, she might spend another whole hou

  • Closeted Desires    Will You Marry Me?

The two stepped down from the car and walked towards the cabin after Luke locked the car. They reached the cabin and Luke unlocked the door with a key he fished out from his pocket, then opened it for Liam and stood by the side, gesturing him to enter.Liam entered and glanced around the place, wide-eyed.The scent of pine, cinnamon, and something sweet in the oven drifted through the warm air. The inside was small but inviting… wooden walls, soft lighting, and a fire crackling lazily in the stone hearth.A Christmas tree stood proudly in the corner, dressed in red and gold, with a scattering of wrapped presents tucked beneath its branches.Garlands laced the mantel, dotted with tiny lights and sprigs of holly, and stockings hung loosely beneath a framed photo of the sea. A wool blanket was thrown over the arm of the couch, and a tray with two mugs of cocoa waited on the coffee table, still steaming. The room felt lived-in, but not cluttered. Just... right. Like warmth made visible.L

  • Closeted Desires    Surprise!

It was the night of Christmas Eve and Megan stood at the bottom of the stairs with arms folded across her bosom as she stared at the treeless living room. This was the first Christmas that they had had that the family hadn't bought any tree, not to talk of the decorations around the house. Those things were unimportant at the moment.Since that day, Liam came out to his parents, this home suddenly became a house. No one talked to each other, no one asked questions… they just co-existed.Megan would often hear her Mom sobbing silently in the corner of the house and she couldn't even bring herself to comfort her.And Anthony on the other hand acted as though nothing happened… as though Liam was really dead. She sighed. Is this what Kelly and her family went through her Luke was outed? She thought to herself. This is so horrible. She wondered if they would be having Christmas Eve dinner as Mary hadn't even come downstairs to cook. She has been the one calling Liam and coward and pesterin

  • Closeted Desires    Christmas Eve

After breakfast was done, Liam returned to Luke's room to relax while Luke stayed back and helped his mom clean up the table.Liam plugged in his ear plug and listened to some Christmas songs on his phone with a bittersweet feeling. He has always celebrated Christmas with his family, but he knew for certain that this Christmas wouldn't be celebrated with them.He wondered how Megan was doing so he decided to send a text. But no reply came.Knowing how extreme his father was, he must have done something to her phone. He sighed helplessly but he wasn't feeling lost nor that sad… he had Luke and his family. He decided to use this time to think about what he would be doing with his life if Luke returned to college next year.Just in the middle of his thoughts, a knock came through the door and he quickly paused the song to make sure he wasn't imagining it.But when the knock came again, he got to his feet and opened the door.To his surprise, Kelly was standing before the door.“Oh!” He s

“You okay?” Luke asked slowly, stroking some strands of hair off of Liam's face.Liam smiled and nodded, “Mhm hmm.”But the smile didn't reach his eyes. They were cuddling tenderly on the bed.“You know, you don't have to pretend you're okay when you're not.” Luke said, gently caressing his face, “I’m here for you.”“So this is what you went through alone?” Liam asked.“Hmm?”“Two years ago, when I abandoned you just to save my head,” Liam stated, “I imagine you were feeling a lot worse than I am feeling now. I'm sorry, Babe.”“Hey, we've gotten over that since for a long while now.”“But… I still feel bad,” Liam persisted, “I came out on my own time when I was ready, but you? You were…”“Okay, since you're feeling bad, I feel bad too,” Luke pouted.“For what?”“Because of me, your basketball dream came to an end. The dream you've had since we were kids. You threw it all away, and risked your life too, just to save me, what if something terrifying had happened to you? Huh?” Luke asked

Megan hesitated, “Mom, you okay?”Mary sniffed and wiped the tears in her eyes, and then returned to cooking breakfast.“You know all along, didn't you?” Mary asked in a wavering voice, then turned to face her, “That's why you and Kelly broke up your friendship. That's why…” She broke off and burst into tears, “You've always known! How could you not tell me?! How could you?!”“I'm sorry Mom,” Megan said apologetically, “It wasn't my place to tell and…”“And what, Megan? And what? Your brother is a homosexual!” Mary said amidst tears, “You should have told us sooner so we could find a cure…”“There is no cure Mom!” Megan interrupted sharply, “Because it isn't some kind of sickness that needs curing! Being gay is completely normal! It's natural!”“You're out of your goddamn mind!” Mary gritted. “You're here spewing nonsense!”“No, I'm not!” Megan defended, “Liam is happy where he is right now! Can't you guys just be happy for him? Hmm?”Anthony aggressively walked into the kitchen and s
