Chapter 32: Will You Help Me?

A sickening smile stretched Davies's lips as he admired his work. The blood of the deceased Great Wolf seeped into the soil of the cave and was swiftly absorbed. The body of the beast lay on the ground silently, as the other beasts came to terms with what had just occured.

The eyes of the Great Beasts that were formerly filled with bloodlust were swiftly coated in fear, and several of them stepped back anxiously. Their actions caused Davies to growl in excitement. He slowly lost himself, thinking that his action of killing one of them had been enough to instil cowardice in the hearts of these powerful foes.

"That's right! Run you cowards!" Davies exclaimed, his voice travelling all through the cave and to the outside world.

To the young man the actions of the Great Wolves showed that they had become disillusioned by their strength and had forgotten that they too could be killed. Seeing one of their own die reminded them that they too were mortals, and their fear generated this response
