“Is it over? Are these the only four who possessed soe degree of intelligence?” Kylie asked as she looked down on the headless corpses of the four Walker variants.

The creatures who had successfully hidden from the elders had met their ends cruelly, but Kylie did not feel an ounce of sympathy or guilt in doing so. Before she started this mission, Michael had told her many of the cruel things that the Undead did, and how unkind their souls were. They were creatures that thought of destruction and chaos only, and their death was necessary to bring one peace. Naturally, that was not enough to override Kylie’s conscience. After all, even when she faced humans who tried to kill her – people who had used some of the most unfair methods to get stronger – she had been unable to forget their deaths.
