The moon crown

Moonlight swallowed Raven Hollow.

The silver light pouring from the heavens grew brighter until the battlefield looked as though the sun had risen in the middle of the night.

Clover’s emerald eyes shimmered with silver as invisible wind lifted her dark hair around her shoulders. The glowing clover mark on her wrist spread delicate silver vines up her arm before fading into intricate symbols.

Kael forced himself to his feet despite the pain shooting through his ribs.

“Clover…”

His voice was barely a whisper.

She didn’t answer.

She couldn’t hear him.

The ancient voice echoed through her mind once more.

“The Moon does not grant power… it awakens what already lives within you.”

Before her eyes, another world unfolded.

She stood in a vast silver garden beneath an enormous moon.

White flowers stretched endlessly in every direction.

In the distance stood a woman dressed in flowing silver robes.

Her face was blurred, as though hidden by time itself.

“You’ve waited for me,” Clover whispered.

The woman smiled.

“I have waited for every daughter of the Moon.”

“Who are you?”

“I am the First Queen.”

She stepped closer.

“You are not merely the last Moon Witch.”

“You are my heir.”

The words settled heavily in Clover’s heart.

“No…”

“I can’t be.”

“You already are.”

The woman gently touched Clover’s forehead.

The moment their skin met—

Memories flooded her mind.

She saw ancient kingdoms glowing beneath moonlight.

Witches healing forests instead of destroying them.

Werewolves standing beside Moon Witches as allies.

Children laughing together.

No war.

No hatred.

Only peace.

Then everything changed.

A council dressed in white robes.

Betrayal.

Blood spilled across marble floors.

The Moon Queen falling.

A baby hidden beneath silver light.

The vision shattered.

Clover gasped.

Her eyes flew open.

She was back in Raven Hollow.

The Corrupted Ancient was only a few steps away.

Its massive claw descended toward Kael.

Without thinking—

Silver light burst from Clover’s hands.

The earth answered instantly.

Towering walls of crystal moonstone erupted from the ground, blocking the monster’s attack.

The impact shook the valley.

Kael stared at the shimmering barrier in disbelief.

The Corrupted Ancient roared and struck the barrier repeatedly.

Cracks spread through the crystal.

“It’s breaking!” Damon shouted.

Kael grabbed his sword.

“Everyone, fall back!”

“No,” Clover said quietly.

The entire battlefield turned toward her.

She stepped forward.

Each footstep caused silver flowers to bloom beneath her boots before fading away.

Selene watched with wide eyes.

“It really is her…”

The Moon Queen.

Clover raised one trembling hand toward the monster.

“I don’t want to destroy you.”

The beast paused.

“I know you’re suffering.”

For the first time, its burning eyes flickered with something unexpected.

Pain.

Not rage.

Compassion filled Clover’s heart.

She reached out.

The silver light surrounding her hand drifted toward the creature like gentle mist.

When it touched the Ancient’s chest—

A deafening cry echoed across Raven Hollow.

Black smoke burst from its body.

The crimson fire surrounding it slowly faded.

Stone cracked away, revealing silver markings beneath.

The creature’s eyes changed from fiery red…

…to deep sapphire blue.

It slowly lowered itself onto one knee before Clover.

Every wolf in the clearing stared in stunned silence.

The Corrupted Ancient bowed.

Lila covered her mouth.

“It…”

“It bowed to her.”

Selene’s expression twisted with fury.

“No!”

“That monster obeys no one!”

“It doesn’t,” Clover replied softly.

“It remembered who it was.”

Selene’s hands trembled with anger.

“You’ve ruined everything.”

She raised a black crystal high into the air.

“If I can’t have your power…”

“I’ll destroy the source!”

The crystal exploded.

A shockwave tore through Raven Hollow.

The ground split apart.

Clover lost her footing.

Before she could fall into the widening chasm—

Strong arms caught her.

Kael.

He pulled her against him, shielding her from the flying debris.

For one suspended heartbeat…

Everything else disappeared.

Their eyes met.

The mate bond flared.

A silver thread of light appeared between their hearts.

Visible.

Kael felt his wolf surge forward with absolute certainty.

Its deep voice rumbled through the valley.

“Welcome home… Your Majesty.”

Far away, inside the hidden chambers beneath the High Coven, an ancient bell rang for the first time in two hundred years.

One by one, hooded elders rose from their seats.

The oldest among them whispered words that chilled the room.

“The Moon Queen has returned.”

“And so… the Final War begins.”
